What a cluster. We…read morestarted our journey to get a new generator installed on 19 May. It was finally finished sometime in August. One would think that a place who specializes in generators would do better than this. However. First, the good news: our salesperson, DJ, was wonderful. He spent time with us going over the BTUs and size generator that would realistically be needed here. Also, our meter needed to be upgraded and I gotta say, Consumers Energy was great! Yeah, you read it. Great! They were here within two days time, had the thing installed and ready to go. Bam! And now...the rest. It took a while to get scheduled. Ok, no biggie. But when they finally arrived to do the install, that's when the mishaps began. It was hot outside. Like blazes. We kept the guys swimming in drinks and had them come in as often as they needed for AC breaks. The install was to take 1.5 days. Welp, by end of day 2, the people just left. Long holiday weekend? Extra extra day off? Going to contact us next week about finishing. No call. Call office. No clue. Called back. Evidently, generator needs a part. No one mentioned this. (Wouldn't you think that a place that specializes in generators would have parts?) Days go by. More calls to office. No part. More calls, no part. Called back and scheduled. Oh now something else. We will get back with you. Inspector from county can come in meantime. Cool! He arrives, very pleasant and inspects plumbing. He says, "when is electrical inspector coming?" Huh? He said that Haley should have also scheduled that. The plumbing inspector even called the electrical inspector himself (!!) and was told that Haley never scheduled him. Call office. Oh, uh, guess that didn't get done. Called office about SIX times to get that scheduled. The installers from Haley cut the outside gas line too short. That had to be redone. Now we are ready? Generator going to work now? No. Now the guys have to come back. The replaced part from July? Doesn't work. Replacement ordered. Call office. Is it there? Is it there? When are you getting it? Etc etc etc Part comes. Oh damn, now the lid doesn't lock. Going to order new lock. Call office. Any word on part? Anything? Hello? "We are going to have our new electrical manager help you out. He will call you right back" Crickets. Days and days of crickets. No manager. No anyone. Call office. Part here? Nope. Guy is coming out. New part found. He is super nice. Tries new part. Guess what! Doesn't fit! Eeeeeeeeee He says he is going back to take an entire lid from another generator to fix ours. He does. All is well. Days later. We get a call asking for the serial number so our extended warranty can be registered because Haley forgot to get it during install. Three weeks after that, we still don't see extended warranty in our app being added. Call office. Oh, she hadn't registered it. All in all, this whole process took months, and no less than 30-35 calls to the office to get things done. No one knows what is going on in this company from one department to the next, one employee to another. It used to be highly recommended because it was family-owned. Now, we can see how private equity has "helped" enhance another business into the trash heap of history. After this colossal mess, we do have a nice generator that works great. And we will be using an entirely different company for our annual maintenance.

I looked on the Internet for an electrician in my area and was pleased to find one right in my…read moreneighborhood. I called and Randy was able to fit me into his schedule in two days. I had a small job but, Wow! He arrived right when he said he would and was very pleasant and professional. What should have been a fairly quick and easy job turned out to be a bit more, due to some previous work that was not done correctly. After spending more time and effort, he could have asked for more than he quoted, but with a kind smile on his face, he didn't. Highly recommend!

We hired this company for multiple residential projects including HVAC troubleshooting, an EV…read morecharger installation, and repair of a non-working doorbell transformer. Scheduling was flexible, pricing was fair, and communication was consistent. Unfortunately, the quality of work and follow-through did not meet expectations. Several installations required return visits--or fixes I ultimately had to handle myself. The EV charger failed to operate out of the box due to a disconnected internal ribbon cable, which was blamed on product design rather than potential mishandling during install. (I had to troubleshoot and repair this myself.) The doorbell still doesn't function as designed. Our primary concern was that there was no power to the Eufy unit--we wanted to avoid having to charge it manually. After inspection and a transformer replacement, it still never had power. We didn't realize this until the battery died, and based on the battery lifespan, we're confident there was no power present from source to load when the team left. While work was being done on the doorbell and electrical panel, a wire somehow disconnected from a breaker, causing power loss to our upstairs bathroom lights--an issue that went unnoticed by the team. My wife noticed it immediately, but since I was traveling, I assumed it was a GFCI trip. It wasn't--I later confirmed it was related and not a GFCI issue at all. We were also having issues with our AC system, which was diagnosed as a faulty relay and low coolant. After those repairs, the exact same issues persisted. While they did return at no charge, the explanation shifted to closed vents and system over-pressurization, followed by claims that it was a design flaw from the original home build. We have since opened all vents and the AC still short cycles.(In fairness I did not bring this up to them, as I had already lost confidence in their repair work) For context, our neighbors have the same home layout and do not experience these issues. While I understand the challenges of troubleshooting, it can't come at the cost of repeated guesswork and shifting blame every time something doesn't work. In each case, the explanation pointed to equipment flaws or unrelated factors, never acknowledging the possibility of an installation oversight--despite the timing and nature of the failures clearly suggesting otherwise. While the team was willing to return (as long as we paid another service fee), the lack of accountability and repeated need for correction made the process more frustrating than it needed to be.
