Our inspector suggested we get a qualified Electrition to go to the house and give it a once over. That evening we called Efficient Electric and spoke to Mike the owner. He informed us that homes with aluminum wiring can be safe if the proper termination points are used. The next day he sent Brian, a qualified Electrition to our house and his assistant and they opened up every outlet and switch, documenting which ones were safe and unsafe. The following day, Mike provided us with a write up and pictures that showed issues that he found as well as a very reasonable quote. Mike bent over backwards to help us out and we are so grateful. He kept in communication with us and answered all of our questions. Called around 8 a.m. after discovering that our gas furnace had stopped firing up overnight. A very polite real-life person answered after just a couple of rings (no prompts or automated options required). She said a technician could come same day between 1 and 4. He arrived at 1:15 and diagnosed the problem quickly, a dying circuit board that was not providing consistent power to the igniter. He quoted the cost of replacing - around $450 but was concerned about replacing such an expensive piece on a furnace that had perhaps already exceeded its life expectancy. It was a honest assessment. My husband and I had been expecting both the heating and a/c to go out for the past few years, based on their age (about 25 yrs) and well-worn condution. He knew some tricks to get the furnace running but it failed again that night, consistent with the nature of the problem. Thankfully, the salesman John - 35 yrs on the job, was scheduled to visit that morning. He helped us explore various options and discussed our needs and requirements. He listened, evaulated and eventually sold us the least expensive model with no pressure to buy the high-end units. Such a pleasant experience! Incredibly, installation was the next day. Mike, 15 yrs with the company, and Andy, with around 5 yrs, worked as a team to install a new furnace, a/c and thermostat. They used drop cloths to cover the floor where they would go in and out with equipment and they swept up any debris they created. We are very pleased with the process, results and each employee that got us there.

We made an appointment to get an estimate. A knowledgeable member of the Steele Team arrived on schedule and reviewed our options. A few days later we received the estimate, one that was lower than an earlier estimate we had received from a competitor, and we approved the job. The following week the installation crew arrived and put in the Breeze 33 system, including the air conditioning unit, 8 ducts strategically positioned in bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas, an air handler (installed in the hallway ceiling), and the outdoor unit behind the house. The crew was excellent and got the job done in a single day. They meticulously cleaned up after themselves -- actually, they did better than that, vacuuming the stairway cleaner than it was before they came and repositioning personal items in rooms that might be impacted by falling dust from the drilling. The tech came out and accidentally broke my disconnect so he said he would "put in a ticket" to have someone come out to repair it. The scheduling lady called me a few days later and scheduled a tech to come out to the house and the tech came and replaced the disconnect and left. I then received via email a $175 bill. I called and left a voicemail to inquire with no response the next morning then called again the next day and was told "Tom Jr" would handle but was not there and would call me back to discuss. By this time I decided to have my husband handle this. Tom Jr stated he was charging us $175 for what his technician came out and broke! At no time we're we given a quote for the work or knew what the cost of repair would be - since Steele damaged our property we thought they would do the right thing and repair what they damaged - NOPE - Tom Jr (Steele) called it a "miscommunication" and argued to no end. This was shady dealings and not the way to run a stand up business. In the end, my husband had to fight for what was right and Tom Jr said to "throw out the bill" and hung up on my husband. If you are looking for Customer Service from a Heating and Cooling Business, LOOK ELSEWHERE!! Once you spend your money on a full heating and cooling package like we did, they're done with you.
