The restaurant has a nice chill vibe to it making it a good place for a friend dinner. A little loud for date night but could've been due to a bridal party going on at same time. I really enjoy this place. Their options are great, their staff is usually pretty good, and they brew some good beers. I recently had a birthday here. At first, we were told that we could have the entire tap room but then it happened to be on the same night that they were launching some sort of Bingo. My party was only supposed to be 35 people, but it grew to 50 people, so we had to go outdoors. I made reservations in advance. It was cold outside, but the heaters helped a little. My party started at 8:30 pm and at 9:00 pm the restaurant announced last call for food. We had a great time but it was a little chaotic. If you plan a party, make sure it doesn't coincide with another event that takes place at the same time, and maybe keep it to 40 people tops. The noise from the indoor event will be pumped into the outdoor space and you will have a tough time hearing anything. Also, clarify with the staff how they want your guests to order food. We thought at least one person would come out to the patio to take our orders. We were wrong. Instead, between 8:45 pm and 9:00 pm my party made a mad dash to the counter and ordered their food. I think we may have overwhelmed their staff. Overall, this is my favorite pizza place in Dallas. They have the BEST Vegan pizza. read more

Tried Vector for the first time and loved the hip vibe in the neighborhood. We ordered the curry pizza, Brussel sprouts, fried onions and a couple brews. Actually, the Brussel sprouts came out by accident so we kept them (amazing!). Our server recommended the curry pizza and mentioned it's "underrated". He was super friendly and let us know he would give us another pizza on him if we didn't enjoy. It was good but heavier with a lot of chili oil drizzled on the top. Could use less of the oil and a bit sweet for me. However, all and all a great experience and exceptional beers brewed onsite! Highly recommend for families and they host special events. Next time I want to try a more classic pizza. read more

Wasn't impressed with this place. We came for the crawfish boil, they was no outdoor seating left, so we had to sit inside. I couldn't tell if it was waiter service or not, we just ended up going through the food line for beer, which made no sense. For some reason they chose to only serve 10oz beers, hey you have a crawfish boil going on, people want to enjoy themselves and drink, and you only gave me a sippy cup - no bueno. The crawfish was cold and bland, the only thing that was hot was the lone potato. There was another crawfish event going on that day but I chose Vector as they had sausage and shrimp too, which meant a little piece of sausage and two shrimps. Vegan cheese and plenty of veg options to customize your own. No liquor here but the michelada I had was really good (maybe just too much Sonic ice) - the right amount of spice. I would like to go back & try some of the brewery offerings for sure now. The QR code to order was a little glitchy so I ordered at the counter instead and the service was pretty good all around. They have a large outdoor space that was all enclosed when I went so you would probably be fine here still on a chilly night. Great place to bring your dog on the patio or a bunch of energetic kids. I love Vector Brewing's family friendly atmosphere and all-weather, dog-friendly patio. With good heaters and patio coverage, you can sit outside and stay warm and dry in most weather. They have trivia Tuesday evenings which is a fun way to experience Vector! When you arrive, it's first-come first-serve seating. You can either order at the counter or order via Toast Tab on your phone so you can just hang out at your table. Just beware, when it's busy the pizza can take a while so order an appetizer if you're hungry! Beer wise, I have quite a few favorites including the Roast Negligence, Kleinegeist, Bullpen Classic, and Apfelholz. You can order taster, half pour, or full pour sizes of beer, which is great if you don't want to commit to a full beer of one variety. They also serve wine, so Vector is friendly for your non-beer drinking friends. Food wise, pizzas come in 10" or 14". They taste like pizza from your childhood, but for the adult palate. I never would have selected the Angry Bee, but my friend ordered it and now it's my go-to pizza. Warning that the hot honey drizzle is not messing around so it's nice to have a beer and/or another flavor of pizza to help cut the spice. read more

The service has taken a turn for the worst. We visited on July 9th around 3pm. Light crowd, almost exclusively inside due to the sweltering weather. The beer and pizza is still excellent. The service, however, is not. Glassy eyed, lethargic, intoxicated, frequent trips into the walk-in to do some sort of intoxicant. Yawning disinterest in the customers seated at the bar top. We had to actively wave them down to order another beer and food. We met the owner, a female. She treats the staff like long lost friends, hence the lack of seriousness in the execution of their jobs. She didn't introduce herself, didn't give us her name, and look genuinely offended by the polite, but firm critical feedback Vector is a victim of its success. Convinced it cannot fail, regardless of the service. Sad. My prediction, given the severe downturn we are headed into economically, is that Vector will be gone in less than 24 months. Top to bottom, from the owner down to the front of house staff, no one seems to be the least bit worried by the horrid, inattentive, contemptuous service. We're regulars. My wife and I came in for the rotator pie( Cheeseburger pizza) and some cold beer and some of their great wines. We're always treated well and eat here at least twice a month. The beers are creative and the pizzas are always stellar. Shout out to Josh for looking after us as usual and to the owner who had to put up with a couple of arseholes while we there. Kept her cool and showed them the door. Love it that they're busy even during the week and the weekends and that they have a toddler curfew for those of us who'd rather not listen to toddlers and dodge them while we're eating. Finally checked out Vector Brewing after being asked by so many friends of we had been yet. We were in Utah when some other friends told us about the release of BL Coconut Chocolate and BL Coffee (we're big fans of stout) and that we'd better get over there to try it before it's gone. As soon as we returned home to Dallas, we headed to Vector. What a nice place! It's easy to find, parking is plentiful, and they also serve food and wine for your non-beer drinkers. The interior is spacious and nicely decorated, the patio is fantastic (dog friendly too!), and every staff person we interacted with was personable. Place your order at the counter and they will give you a number to place on your table. We had pizza and although we're suckers for Detroit-style or neopolitan style pizza, this one was pretty darn good. Great crust and nice assortment of toppings available... Even my fav soppressata. There are enough restaurants nearby that you could easily do something different like a progressive dinner... Start with a beer at Vector, walk over to RM 12:20 Bistro for an appetizer, back to Vector for another beer, across the street to Cedar & Vine for an entree, Andy's Custard for dessert, and back to Vector to close out the evening. read more

Pizza and beer was AMAH ZING!! The service was problematic which in turn made for my mother's week of celebrations turned a positivity exercise. Test 1 - Order ahead for to-go was unavailable. Test 2 - The cashier was rude and obstructive. My mom asked questions, to receive answers like "you tell me". She explained we would like to come back in 20 minutes and he said if you're not at a table then your food won't be served...we clarifiied again that we ordered to-go. He waved us away and waved on the next customers. Test 3 - We come to the counter to pickup our order. The cashier ignores us trying to get our order clearly on the bar. The appetizers are plated for the table, the pizzas are boxed, and the can of stout is in a glass. So we had to wait at the drink station, breathing and passing food over about 5 beers waiting for customers to grab ... because the cashier couldn't be bothered to handle the issue in a hygienic manner off to the side of the register. This place used to be good. The staff is great and the owners seem great. However, the food quality seems to have dropped significantly. Dough quality varies drastically day to day. I understand humidity can alter proofing, but this crust seems to range from thin crust to a more doughy hand tossed on any other day. Sauce seems watery, and the arrangement of toppings seem to be put on haphazardly. Plus the toppings seem flavorless and mealy. The staff also seems quite overwhelmed for the business they have. Here's why we go to Vector: + convenient location + support local + we like the patio a lot + but the main reason is the Angry Bee pizza- it's delicious and unique Here's why we don't go more often: + lack of service + high prices ($17 for a cheese pizza, but I get it because rent there is STEEP, and supply prices just keep going up) + but the main reason we don't go more often is a soapbox issue of mine - tipping at counter service restaurants - and here, when they flip the screen to face the customer for you to sign, 20% is pre-selected for you. But ever worse, they won't even flip the screen and ask you to sign if you don't bring it up. They'll just close you out and put 20% on your tab without any permission from you. On past visits, I assumed it was the staff who collectively decided to do it this way. Tonight I asked the girl who was working the counter. She told me it's automated to be 20% (and that it used to be 25%, which she really liked) So two medium pizzas and water were $40ish with tax. And they expected $8 in tip when the only service given is the pizzas being dropped at the table and the table being cleared after you leave. You get your own waters and silverware. Get your own refills. Get your own to-go box. Which is all fine for a counter service place, because you're not paying for more than counter service. And 20% is the minimum I'd tip at a full service place. But there's a major disconnect here between the service and the tip. And it feels like a breach of trust between the customer and the establishment. read more

First impressions are huge. We drove 20 minutes to check this place out and yes there was a music, pizza, and beer (normally the big three for breweries). However, my visit lacked with the customer service side. The bartender asked if I wanted to open a tab and I said, we are going to pay as we go because we were going to drink responsibly. He looked at me like I was a fish out of water. Maybe Texas friendliness is a thing of the past. My beer was ok but not fantastic. Maybe I had the bitter service still stuck in my mouth or maybe the Moonsmoke (3.75 on untapped and I rarely rate beers below a 4) didn't impress. Next was the overprice pizza that was worse than store brand oven cooked, Digiorno. What sealed the deal or may I say the cherry on top was the bus person who came to pick up our dirty dishes . I stopped by Vector Brewing with my dad for some afternoon drinking an afternoon a few weeks ago when I was in Dallas for a visit. I grew up less than a mile from the intersection where Vector Brewing is located, and I couldn't believe how the shopping center has changed or that there is a brewery walking distance from my childhood home! The brewery was really nice; it has a large interior but also has a gorgeous patio with breeze blocks and lots of tables! The service was great. The beer menu is great. I love that they offer 5 oz, 10 oz, and 16/20 oz pours. So that I could try a couple of their beers, I got 5 oz pours. We tried their Mountain Child (German-style Pilsner) and Best Friend's Ride (Pineapple Gose) - both were great. But their beer menus is extensive and varied! I feel like a lot of breweries put all their eggs in one basket (most often the IPA basket?) and don't have a lot of variety. That is not Vector. They have a lager, a stout, IPAs, a pilsner, a witbier, a saison, and more on tap! They also offer more beers (in bottles), ciders (including a local cider), meads (including a Texas mead), wine, and a sake. And then they have food! They really have it all. We didn't try food on this visit, but the menu (mostly really creative sounding pizzas) looked amazing. My boyfriend and I decided to visit, since we wanted to be able to dine on a patio during the pandemic. We were not disappointed. We would have stayed longer if not for an approaching storm. The patio is spacious and inviting, and dog-friendly! Multiple big screen TVs on the wall. We tried the IPA, the Ballyvaughan stout, and the Cordial Kiss (my favorite). We ordered the Fine Swine pizza and it was to die for. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other choices. The crust, crispy and delicious, was the best. We came here yesterday for lunch! They're taking all the necessary COVID precautions, staff were all wearing masks, tables spaced 6 ft apart, hand sanitizer available for customers. We tried several beers and ciders and enjoyed everything we tried. The Cideboob watermelon cider was so refreshing! We also loved the Mountain Child and Blue Spectrum beers. I recommend doing a flight! The pizzas were great! We had the Wildcat and Keep Calm and Curry On. The flavors and tofu of the curry pizza were fantastic! They charge for sides of ranch which we paid for but I'm a firm believer all pizza places should provide free ranch. Taco Joint a few doors down has free serve yourself jalapeño ranch, wish that was the case here. We also ordered the Hail Caesar salad which I don't recommend. The croutons were wet/soggy and there were too many sun dried tomatoes. The dressing was flavorless too but I used some of the ranch. Can my bee just be slightly annoyed (my spice level is just so high). She gladly made the substitution. Then she asked me the craziest question, " Would you like to add bacon?!!" Who in their right mind would say "No?!!" Pork it up why don't you. I paired with Betty. I'll keep talking about her lovely disposition as a beer. She's a rose infused rice lager with raspberries. Shout out to the Best Golden Girl. All of the pizzas are 12 inch so bring a friend or two. If you're like me leftovers for the next day. This place has an awesome patio area for social distancing. Have been dying to try this place for months and finally went! It was so good y'all. We did two flights each and really liked all the beers. The pizza isn't bad at all, but that's a low standard to meet. It's basically Cane Rossi's Digornio. If you're going purely to help the local economy I highly recommend it. I was the friend with the previous reviewer the night we were turned away by management due to them saying they were closing early due to the storm. I didn't plan on writing a review but it seems that the owner and management don't know how to take accountability for their problems. Here are the plain facts. My friend and I showed up and it was raining. We realized the patio was uncovered so I stayed in the car with the dog so my friend could go in and enjoy a drink. When he was done I was going to go in and we were going to leave The owner seems to think that we were intending on taking the dog inside. This was never even a question as we are aware you can not have a dog in a brewery especially when brewing is taking place. The owner also seems to think there was some inebriated woman involved without a mask. I don't know if this woman is entirely fictitious or a scapegoat for their bad behavior but neither of us obviously had ever met her. It's a shame that their response didn't really desire to set the record straight. Here is what remains though, we were turned away due to the weather and while we waited for the rain to calm down we saw the same thing happen to others. Meanwhile a whole party of patrons inside were enjoying beverages and the place did not seem to actually close down. They can try to cover their tracks on this one but the truth is that taking responsibility when your staff makes a mistake goes a lot fart than making false accusations to otherwise would be happy customers. It's a shame we can't support Vector Brewing when everyone is rooting for breweries right now. I hope management owns up to this and sets the record straight so I can take down this review. read more

Vector Brewing is such a wonderful addition to the Lake Highlands neighborhood. This family owned business dove in head first with the community and has been so supportive of local community groups. Vector is a great spot to watch a game, or meet up with the ladies. Indoors they have a bar as well as long tables. The long tables would be great for a group. You order at the counter and they bring your order to you. Service is relatively quick for a made to order spot. They have a list of rotating beers, mostly house made. Outdoors they also have several long tables that are near TVs. One day on a quiet afternoon my husband and I sat outside and got work done a few hours. They have several outdoor outlets which was nice. Their pizzas are great with creative flavors. Take them seriously if they say something is spicey, they are serious! I really like the Chonkers if we are going for a beer and want a light snack. My favorite pizza is the Speziato. Our kids love their kids pizzas. They have happy hour Weekdays 4-6pm where they offer $1 off draft beers, house wine, and appetizers. We have not tried their weekend bruch yet but the menu looks solid! read more

COVID-19 Review: I've been here a couple times now since they have a large, dog-friendly patio with appropriately spaced tables and outdoor TVs. I'm not a beer drinker, but their wine list is great -- their house white (Mohua sauv blanc) is actually a favorite of mine as far as whites go, and the Tribute cab is fantastic as well. Also, their pizzas have a really interesting and tasty sourdough crust. So, three stars for all of that. The potential is there, for sure. However, they've got a lot of room for improvement -- possibly because they're new and opened in the middle of the pandemic, so I'll cut them a little slack. But a few things: FOOD: - The dip trio comes with breadsticks that are too soft and puffy to scoop or hold dip (at least the olive tapenade and diced tomatoes) on top. So it ended up being an awkward adventure of using a fork to carefully balance some dip on a breadstick and try to get it to your mouth before it falls off, or just eating straight forkfuls of dip, which is less than appealing and defeats the purpose of a "dip" trio. - Same issue for the charcuterie board. Little meat slices (clearly intended as pizza toppings, nothing fancy) do not balance on top of soft, puffy breadsticks. Also, why is this board served with fully a quarter of the tray being a pile of undressed lettuce that doesn't even appear to be intended for eating? - The mac and cheese is served dumped onto a tray, making it vaguely reminiscent of a pig trough. A bowl would go a long way toward making this look like an actual menu item rather than kitchen leftovers. - No one in our group has been particularly blown away by the menu pizzas, aside from the crust being delicious. I created a make-your-own pizza that actually was selected as the taste winner from everyone in our group: added gouda, caramelized onions, basil, chorizo, and fig sauce. Heads up: the chorizo is served in slices, not crumbles. - If you don't want pizza or mac & cheese, your options are super limited. I've heard the salads (I think there are two VERY basic ones on the menu) aren't worth ordering. That leaves, um...nothing, unless you want to eat forkfuls of olive tapenade for dinner. - They have some sort of dessert thing that's basically cinnamon-sugar coated breadstick balls. You'd think this would be amazing, but somehow it doesn't quite work, possibly because the sourdough is a really strong flavor, and there's more cinnamon-sugar on the tray than on the dough. OTHER: - Given that a lot of us are trying to avoid indoor spaces right now, it would be nice if they'd take orders at the tables rather than making you go inside every time you want another drink. Also would be nice if they'd bring checks out and let you pay from your table, because that's yet another trip inside. - Dog friendly apparently means dogs are welcome, but either bring your own water bowl or prepare to have your dog drink from a cup. - On my first visit, they asked if I wanted to sign up for their points program, and I said sure. On my second visit, there was no mention of a points program; not sure if I got "credit" for that visit or not. There was never any explanation as to how the point system works (do I need to tell them I'm signed up each time?) or what it gets you. read more
