This is a difficult review to properly balance. We'd seen the rooftop restaurant from my son's new…read morecollege apartment and went for dinner. After reading the sign indicating we need to see the host inside, we went. It was packed and looked modern chic, with low lights and high tables and tall chairs. We didn't have reservations and got the sorry, but we're full, to which I said we wanted to eat upstairs. To that, we got "okay" but that is a "different experience," which I frankly took as pretension... until I got upstairs. Then we understood. It was mostly empty on this Saturday evening, opposite the main restaurant below, and had a single person working the whole space, a Bar tender who explained we were to pull up the menu with a QRC, order, and they would bring the food; if we wanted drinks, we needed to come to the bar. Ordered food. Went to bar and waited. Good local craft beer on tap. Decent view, pleasant weather. And then a half hour passed. For sandwiches and tacos. Few minutes later, I went in to make sure our order was sent and that the kitchen actually received it. There was no animated chef in toque at a stove to indicate it was working, but she assured me it was. Another 15 minutes go by, and our beers are low, and we're considering.... Leaving or raising a stink when the bartender leaves her bar, looks at us, and goes down the stairs without a word, returning a few minutes later with nothing. That was odd, but seemed like progress. A few minutes later, our food arrives. Perhaps 50-60 minutes after ordering it. The runner tells us the manager apologies for the wait and has comped all our food. Without our having to say a word. We ate a fine arugula salad with watermelon, blueberries, and cheese. A good chicken sandwich with the most unusual Parmesan parsley fries--they were more thick chips, fried into curls, and topped with fried parsley and grated Parmesan. If you order it on the side, it comes with aioli, which was excellent. My burger was outstanding. I could taste the smoke, and it came with not slices, but small cubes of bacon. No need for sauce. My wife's shrimp tacos were very good eating. Frankly, it was so good, I *might* have forgiven them the wait. They did right to acknowledge their mistake. When we visit Binghampton again, we'll make reservations for the main dining room, which we were told has a much larger menu. We paid our bar tab via their Toast app. So yes, table service, but no waitron. It was a different experience, true to the host's word.

disappointing. We were in town to drop off son for school…read more My birthday was a few days later so i figured we'd go somewhere a little more special and upscale. We walked in and were impressed with the decor. It feels special. We then got seated. My reservation was made weeks prior. Resturant wasn't close to full. In the center there are three really nice booths. There was a table of 4 in the center one. All others were empty. We would have loved to have been seated there. We were brought over to a corner right near a curtained off doorway. I thought 'hmm that's odd.' Too tired from a long drive i accepted the seating. For the next 30 mins i listened to what seemed like never ending amount of dishes and silverware be clanged and washed. I then almost asked to be moved but just hoped it would pass. No new diners came in. Not sure why we were put in the corner but it was a negative for sure. For our meals... i ordered a Bolognese. I love a bolognese and when it's on a menu i get excited. This one was bland and flavorless. I could make a much better one. Bolognese takes hours to slow cook and this was simply not a bolognese. For $32 it needs to be better. I honestly was so unimpressed i left about 3/4 un-eaten. Waitress asked me if i want a to go box. No. no need. The butter candle was cool. My son loved his gnocchi. Portions were big. Tried it but we won't be back.

It's your basic sports bar definitely more than enough TV's to cover whatever sport you'd want to watch. We ordered pretzel bites with beer cheese the pretzels were very salty but warm and in my opinion better without the cheese it definitely is more like nacho cheese rather than beer cheese but it's not bad just nothing to write home about. I got the Caprese Fried Chicken sandwich and it was pretty good and the fries in my opinion are the real show stopper crispy but not burnt the perfect fry homemade I believe too. My girlfriend got the Chicken Philly in a wrap and she enjoyed it. We had a new server training with Julianna and he was great very attentive asked if I wanted a refill when my drink was gone. Which as a customer tells me you care and you're paying attention. We were in and hour in a little over an hour. I would definitely return if in the downtown area!

I asked for a Caesar salad with romaine hearts/light green leaves. When it was served, the bowl was filled with dark green Romain. This was very disappointing. I took half of the leaves out. The rest was edible with the shaved Parmesan cheese. I would have appreciated if the server informed me that the salad was made with mostly dark green leaves. A simple communication would have been considerate. She did offer me a separate menu item but I really wanted a salad, so I declined her offer. I ate 1/2 of the salad and my husband ate 1/2 of his sub then we paid the bill. I appreciate that our server maintained a pleasant disposition but we will not return.

Crowbar is officially the best hangout space in Binghamton right now!…read more Nestled in a nook between State St. and Washington St., when you walk in the first thing you see is their incredible display of old LCD TVs circling the bar area, which really sets the tone for the vintage gaming aesthetic. Everything about this place is on-theme, right down to the items on the menu. While the food is definitely bar fare, don't underestimate it; every single one of their offerings is crafted to perfection! My favorites include the Sauer Loser hotdog (mouth-watering combo of sauerkraut and mustard on all beef franks) and the Flamin' Hot Smothered Cheetos (an elevated take on the spicy snack)! As for drinks, they have a fun array of game-themed cocktails and mocktails. Yes, you heard right, mocktails! And they are all incredible. My favorite is the Wowza Bowzer mocktail, which has a little bit of a kick with habanero bitters. The Waka-Waka-Waka cocktail (mule) features a Pac-Man shaped lemon slice eating a cherry, which is a fun touch! But, as we know, we come for the food and stay for the games, so what's available? Well, they have over 30 vintage games ranging from arcade classics like PacMan and Mortal Combat to more interactive favorites like DDR, hoops, and racing games (check out their website for a full listing). Plus, a couple pool tables and a few chill spots in the 2-story location (which includes a few quiet nooks with seating between the floors). While this space is definitely kid-friendly, it is only open to 21+ after 9pm, which provides a great experience for families and night crawlers alike!

We finally got to try it after a year living in the area. We got the following: lavender vanilla latte - high quality coffee beans used, it wasn't that "milky"/no coffee type of latte. It was made to perfection, an espresso taste balanced w the vanilla lavender. The buffalo chicken sandwich was actually a very generous portion of chicken and right amount of buffalo sauce. The havarti/spinach/truffle oil crepe - the moment they brought the crepe to the table I could smell the very fragrant truffles. For dessert, we shared the rose hip mascarpone crepe - perfect amount of sweetness and eclectic flavor. Overall everything was on point, food was tasty and service was perfect. The only thing to improve is maybe the hours in the future? Not sure if during winter time they will change their schedule again but we had a hard time last winter going there due to timing.

We sat at a high top and ordered drinks... not the fastest service, but seemed to be just one bartender. Not our favorite cocktails as they were just a little off. Just one of the 4 would have gotten the same drink again. For food, seems like everyone else wanted their chicken sandwich!!! Nice sized breaded chicken on bun with delicious, crispy fries!!! I also loved my chicken and feta Greek type salad. Nice portion with perfectly cooked and cut chicken. The flavors were so good, I didn't even try their dressing which they serve on the side. We were a bit full for dessert, but also only option was their crepes... maybe next time. A good option if you have family members with food allergies, or are vegan/vegetarian. Everything is clearly marked on menu.
