Ill start by saying i never really review things but do search a lot on yelp. If you could give 6 or 7 stars i would. Hopefully you've scrolled enough to see the review, past all the bigger companies that have minimal experience in comparison to Kenneth Vaughan.
First company came out, remain nameless (charged $200 to review, did no work) and estimated our blockage at $1800 hydro service but that we should spend $6500 to dig concrete out because they could access clean out.
Second out, estimate $1200 hydro service (didn't charge for looking at it) seem like a good company and said we wouldn't need what first suggested.
Thankfully we got recommended Vaughan, he knows what he's talking about. He knew exactly possible issues with the house, searched for other clean outs that he said there was a potential could have been concreted under ground. Quoted us a price of what it possibly was that would have cost thousand of dollars less than others, but then searched based on knowledge he has and found another clean out that was stuccoed over in a wall, probably by the company who built the house.
He saved us thousand of dollars and all because he was willing to do a little extra work based on his experience. I'm not suggesting the other companies were lying (company 1 probably upselling what needed doing to make commission) and company 2 seemed very honest but they don't have the knowledge and experience that vaughan has.
Moral of the story, smaller companies are often just honest hardworking knowledgeable people, not trying to rip you off. Real tradesman. Lesson learned. we'll never have another pumbler as long as he's still working. read more
