Chill vibe at this eatery below the retail store. We came just before lunch ended at 4 pm on a busy Friday afternoon in Fredericksburg. Our server Brock was super friendly and suggested we decide on our order quickly, so he could get it to the kitchen before the shift from lunch to dinner. Brock mentioned that the craft sandwiches were big,so we decided on splitting the Rueben. Started with the Mediterranean plate, house made hummus, ricotta, olive,Baba Ganoush, chibatta toasted, wow high quality stuff and enough to share. The creamy ricotta was unlike any I've tasted, rich and probably could have stopped there. But no. High quality pastrami piled high on toasted marble rye with brussel slaw,1000 island split with Mrs D it was one of the best rueben. Craft cocktail Beleni was peach and bubbles, and a Belgian Pilsner by Ayinger ,both really satisfying after hiking Enchanted Rock Park. Fun, eclectic store to browse after lunch. A good time.

The delicious s'mores cookie...so big it was served with a knife (and warmed up)

Amazing! Incredible! 100/10 stars!! Loved this place so much and so glad we came here for lunch. This was our first trip to Fredericksburg and I'm really happy we chose this place. We ordered the Mediterranean plate as an app and everything was so incredibly yummy! We were warned the sandwiches are large and they weren't kidding! We shared the club sandwich and WOW...whoever decided to add the apple butter is a genius! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Side note-the bread they use is out of this world!!! Perfectly crunchy but also chewy...best of both worlds! We also had to try a cookie, the s'mores one to be exact, and it was equally amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough!

One of the best restaurants In Fredericksburg. Everything on the menu is amazing, and the service is fantastic. Don't forget to try the seafood gumbo on Saturday!

On Wednesday, the soup was a beef and vegetable. I would have reduced the salt for my personal taste but it was a soup like one would find in any restaurant in France and perfectly fine.would love to have been here on Sunday to try their fried chicken. Today was grilled salmon day and Irene ordered it while I went with a Reuben to check out their bread. The Reuben was superb. One of the best that I've ever had. Just perfect. Salmon in a miso broth seemed smart as miso isn't strong enough a flavor profile to compete with and thus, ruin, the salmon flavor profile. I have a thing about chefs who garnish a salmon (or just about anything) with bitter micro greens cause it looks pretty (that you bite into and they ruin the other more subtle flavors). So miso seems a good choice as is white pepper for this dish. The pistachio tiramisu was "interesting ", but I wonder if they are using salted pistachios? If so, I note that this is a mistake. Switch to unsalted. Still, we did finish it between the two of us. But it was unpleasantly salty and I would recommend against it. Weird that the restaurant focuses on non local wines (Europe and California) when Fredericksburg is in the heart of the Texas wine country. Are they saying that the local wines suck? You'd think they'd try to find and champion the best of the locals instead of wines easily available elsewhere. A lot of times, when persons in the kitchen come from other cultures/countries, they may be trained to follow a recipe but may not necessarily have the culinary cultural map to know how to make minor adjustments before putting an entree out for consumption.

What a cool vibe this place has! To get there you need to walk into the store and then down some stairs to be seated at the restaurant. My husband and I shared the cup of gumbo and split the Rueben sandwich. The gumbo was incredible with a strong seafood flavor. The Rueben was probably the best one I've ever had. It had brussel kraut and a serious cheese pull with pastrami and incredible bread! The chips were crispy and delish. I was super surprised at how tasty the basic mixed green salad was. We came for lunch and will probably be back for dinner. It's just that good!

Great Bistro down stairs and has a great speak-easy vibe. Food was awesome and is well worth it.

Vaudeville never disappoints! The crab and asparagus quiche was so rich and flavorful! And the fried chicken was crispy on the outside and moist inside. Service is always attentive and the music and low lighting make it feel special!

My husband and I arrived 20 minutes early for our Saturday night reservation hoping to get a cocktail at the bar before dinner, unfortunately the hostess said that they "don't allow waiting at the bar". I took that to mean that the bar is also by reservation only, but we were a bit off put by that. We were seated shortly after our reservation time and from that point forward we had a 10/10 experience. The restaurant itself is very dimly lit and vibey, perfect for a date night. Based on reviews I was a little worried that you were required to order from the pre-fixe menu on Friday & Saturday nights no matter the size of your party but that turned out not to be the case. To start, we shared a margarita pizza which more closely resembled a regular cheese pizza but was absolutely delicious. For our mains I ordered the grilled veggie salad and added the confit chicken and my husband ordered the duck confit. Duck confit is one of his all time favorite dishes and this one ranked as one of the best ones he has ever had. He let me have *one* bite and it really was divine. Overall we were really impressed with the food and would certainly recommend Vaudeville to any friends going to Fredericksburg.

Location On main street, Fredericksburg-just a few blocks from Nimitz and pacific war museum Parking Street and nearby lots Atmosphere Classy gift shop, bistro restaurant. Restaurant seating is patio ( no heater) and downstairs Seating Patio( they brought extra chairs for a table) is cafe tables for 4, inside-bar, low tables-great for groups. Some booth seating along the wall. Service Outstanding Menu $$$ Appetizers, salads, sandwiches. Reuben was recommended by a customer-delish! Piked high! Not drippy. Served with side salad, house made chips, large portion. We had the chopped salad with fresh juicy chicken, capers, blackberries, strawberries, tomatoes, zucchini slices, side of lite vinaigrette-like a whole bag of spring mix and alfalfa sprouts on top. I toured the dessert counter-chocolate mousse, large cookies, cappuccino. Something for everyone! Daily specials!! Summary Centrally located historic bistro with generous fresh portions of fresh food. Loved every bite!! Outstanding service. ( I did not dress for such a cold snd windy day on the patio. If they had heaters the score would be 5 stars). Loved the shop and upstairs gallery.

Went to Fredericksburg and the friends I was with spoke highly of Vaudeville. We were fortunate to get a reservation for later that day. Restaurant is downstairs from the store. Not a big place so I suggest a reservation. Everyone enjoyed their food. Sandwiches are large so suggest you split.

Can I bring my own bottle of wine for a corkage fee?

    Is Vaudeville good for kids?

Maybe not for younger kids. It is a small space and it's pretty quiet. But it would be fine for older kids.

Hoping to dine on A Friday evening... Do we need a reservation? How? I'm looking on your website and see nothing of the sort. Thanks!

They recommend a reservation. You can get on a waiting list but even that is booked up sometimes.

They open at 11am for brunch. If you look at the menu pics on Yelp it will give you an idea of what options are available. Enjoy!

After hearing that they are well known for their little B&Bs this one stood out among the rest for our weekend trip. We were going to be visiting on our 15th anniversary and lucky for us they still had some Saturday night reservations a few weeks before our trip. We originally had the Evening Star reserved but a lovely woman from the reception reached out to us upon seeing our reservation and asked if we wanted to be upgraded to the Weber House - for no additional charge! This was an absolute yes! What a nice gesture since they knew it was our anniversary - based on the questionnaire during check out. Some of the buildings are split with multiple room offerings- like the main hall- the Weber House however we stayed in was just us. We had a cute porch, living room, kitchen, bedroom, hugeeee bathroom with clawfoot tub and a screened in outdoor porch. Some of the bigger houses you can rent have room for multiple people but ours was intended for 2 people. They also have a cute library with some books and DVDs you can borrow. The property itself was VERY quiet. When we arrived we checked in at the little office upfront. The girl working even walked us to our little house since we had never been on the property before. Whoever stayed at the house the night before had broken the glass on the little table in the kitchen which was a bummer, so we could not use that, and maintenance was off on weekends. But otherwise it was the cute quaint place. Bed was comfy, central AC even though the buildings themselves pre-date that. Each one is unique too! We especially liked sitting on the screened in porch at night and enjoying a bottle of wine. In the morning they promptly left breakfast in a basket at 9am at our doorstep that was home cooked. It was a very sweet inn.

My wife and I biked the Willow City Loop, and we were able to leave straight from the Hoffman Haus without any issues. We had been to a few other spots before and literally got red carpet treatment and people were genuinely happy we were visiting their establishment. However not the case at The Resort" We walked in and sat down and immediately the server came to take our order. She carded the newly engaged couple and asked them both for their ID's. When she realized the bride to be had a different last name then her mother, they asked for proof they were related. That's when everything got uncomfortable. For the bride to be does not share her mother's name has her mother was divorced many years ago. The server then asked to show proof of insurance where it showed that the mother paid for the daughters insurance. Being restaurant owners themselves, the mother questioned why she was being asked this, and mentioned to the server, it was getting very uncomfortable and to just forget about it. We would take our business elsewhere. The father of the bride to be felt horrible for all of us and went in to speak with a manager. The manager was rude, and started spouting off Texas ABC laws, which again our friend was a restaurant owner himself, and said there is no law that says a daughter and a mother have to share the same last name for proof of identification. By this time, the server had already packed up our wine, instead of putting it in nice bags , she put them in plastic bags, and taped them up, as if we were hobos (see pics), and brought us a bottle of wine, which she indicated was a "gift" as we think she felt bad for what had happened. The wine was not even from their winery. It was a bottle of Martha Stewart "Two Buck chuck wine". As we were leaving, the manager was in the bar, and I went over to tell him how horrible the experience was, instead of pulling me to the side to have a conversation he started yelling at me in the bar, he started quoting the same laws he had referred to previously, and told me I was never allowed to come back. I of course, said we were never coming back anyway. He was yelling at me as I left the bar. And yes, owners of the restaurant you can go back and see the video tape and watch him, follow me out yelling at me, in front of your whole restaurant. Customer service 101, even if the customer is wrong, you do not chase them out of the restaurant, make a scene in front of all your other customers, and never follow them to the parking lot,Not just bad customer service, but 100% uncouth. Then, he proceeded to tell me to fuck off as we were standing outside of the restaurant, in front of customers entering the restaurant, my son and our friends. I literally felt like I was at a low budget establishment, or bowling alley. So incredibly disappointed. Shame on you to the owners or lead manager of this establishment. You need to do better. (Im including a picture of how our wine was packed that day- where is the other open bottles from the other visitors were not sent home this way. They were sent home in nice carry bags with the Ventor's name on them)

This venture has been a dream for owners Mike & Rosann Mitrione. Their first vineyard was established in the Texas High Plains in 2018, where they planted around 15 varietals across 27 acres. In 2021, they began designing and planning their new 38-acre Texas Hill Country vineyard. They started planting their estate vineyard in 2022 and have now expanded to 9 acres of vines including Albariño, Petite Sirah, Montepulciano, Syrah, and Aglianico. Since opening to the public in summer of 2023, they've maintained a steadfast commitment to producing 100% Texas wines. When you enter the tasting room, you will immediately notice the impressive Texas granite structure adorned with a symbol that reflects the Ross family's core values: Faith, Family, Friends, and Fellowship. The two-story, eco-friendly tasting facility is semi-circular and built into the hillside - reminiscent of a piazza in Italy. It has an upscale vibe, high-end design, and comfort in mind lending to its artistic flair. Facing east, the tasting room stays cooler both inside and out, enhancing the experience. Another notable feature are the large tables made from repurposed old pecan trees found on the property. Well known Texas winemaker Tim Drake has been helping in the crafting of some very fine wine here. Most focus has been primarily on Italian style wines which reflects the owner's wine travels. Most grapes are sourced from the High Plains vineyard estate with some future Hill Country estate wines to come. First to sample was the '23 Sauvignon Blanc which is sourced from the High Plains estate vineyard. Citrus & melons will be the first notes to light up your wine palate followed by zesty acidity. The second white wine sampled was the '23 Bisaccia. This Italian style blend, named after Michael's grandfather's Italian town, was crafted with 57% Trebbiano, 39% Albariño, and 4% Pinot Grigio. It is dry with dried apricot notes and minerality. An extra white wine treat was the Windswept. This Rhone style blend (yes, departure from the Italian theme, but that's ok) is a blend of 52% Viognier and 48% Roussanne. It is a lovely lighter Rhone style wine with buttery notes, a tango between apricot and pear, and a hint of minerality. Moving to the Rosé wines, the first to sample was the '24 Sangiovese Rosé. It had a pink colored hue with notes of watermelon and strawberry coupled with good acids. It also had more of a Provence style feel to it for an added pleasant. The next Rosé wine sipped was the '24 Vega. It is Malbec based with some raspberry notes and a nice soft and refreshing feel. Moving into the reds, the first to sample was the '23 Grenache. It was aged in Russian oak (yes, for real), exhibited a deep brick rusty color, lots of good fruit forwardness and a touch of smoke. Next, was the '22 Piazza Rossa. This super Tuscan style wine has 67% Sangiovese, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Merlot. To say it has a big nose is an understatement, but you will also be impressed by its deep dark color, and notes of fig. Plus, the finish is to die for! Saving the best for last red to sip, was the '22 Envisage. This right bank Bordeaux style wine (yes, not exactly Italian, but still great) was carefully crafted with 46% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 16% Malbec. It has nice rich dark fruit, some baking spices, good tannins and acidity, and a smooth finish. Overall, it was a very fine and enjoyable tasting session with everything being spot on. When dreams are realized, magic happens. You can see this not only in the quality wines produced, but the tasting room design, décor, and cool vibes. There is a food truck on site that will whip up some good eats to pair with your wine. You will experience great hospitality here as well. The team is very professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to help ensure you have the tasting experience you desire. You will feel well cared for and comfortable here and will want to return. Cheers!

We were kind of concerned as it is in the opposite direction of all the other places. She explained the options for tasting to us and informed us that there was a food truck onsite as well. We opted to do the red wine tasting . The tasting started with a Grenache ( full bodied, very fruity but not sweet) the grapes really shine, next was the Sangiovese which was even better. We went through a series of 5 wines that all were made with exceptional care as none were left to waste. My favorite was the 1 Sangiovese, 2 Grenache, 3 Tempranillo. We also purchased a pizza from the food truck onsite. It was a margarita pizza ( large enough for two to share as a medium snack). If your hungry you made need more. They have more than pizza as well. We bought a bottle of Sangiovese and will definitely return. Excellent live performer and extraordinary service !!
