Got the food home and pizza was good, tasty. The mushroom pie was great, couldn't really taste the onion base but it was good. Liked the cheeses. Crust crispy, no soggy bottom here! The second pizza was the hit, fennel sausage really makes it. The salad was lacking. Dressing was good but the lettuce was wilty and toppings were few ( Kalamata olives sliced in half and cherry tomatoes in halves) no bread/croutons at all so not sure what made it panzanella? When I drove up to the restaurant, I thought it was a crack shack. It even had a crummy patio set in front - in the middle of winter. I met Mr. J in the flesh - a friendly face who during conversation, admitted that part of his restaurant's signature flair was the hole-in-the-wall feel. His own words were "slum-like." But let that not dissuade you. Upon arriving at our hotel room, the first bite was pure bliss. The pizza had all the best features of some of our favourite Vancouver pizza joints.
