Apparently, Cakebread do a mean garlic loaf - with a whole bulb baked into the center. What is there not to love about that? Anyway, I didn't get to try it, so I can't review it - I just will dream about that instead. Rather, I tried out a chocolate brownie. I've been a little disappointed with brownies since I moved to the states, so I thought I would try out a Canadian version, to see if it could compare to the wonder of the brownies sold in London's Borough Market. Well, it didn't - but it was incredibly luscious. Chocolate icing on top and a surprise of biscuit (cookie) threaded through the brownie itself. I do like a bit of texture when I am chowing down. One brownie was probably a bit too rich for one person - but, I was alone - and I do hate seeing food go to waste. It's called taking one for the team, ok?

I am really glad their products are sold in other places as well, such as Tom's Grocery in Bowser and Edible Island in Courtenay. Their foccaccia bread is the best I've ever had. Rich and heavy with plenty of herbs and sea salt. Their loaves of bread are hearty and free from preservatives, canola oil, dairy, additives etc. They taste the way real food should taste. The loaves are also sliced in a thinner way which I love because I don't go through them as quickly as thick sliced bread. Every item has been delicious and I seek out their products whenever I can. Reasonably priced and well worth every penny. If I could bake as well as them I'd likely double in size from eating so much!
