You can get a better pizza, but you can't pay more for it. I'm astonished this place could get a 4.8 rating (at the moment) based on tonight's dinner. I chose it based on a popular travel site's reviews, when there was a chain pizza restaurant literally next door I could have walked to. The pizza was: small for the price, had a glommy, sticky, unpleasant crust. Probably the most expensive pizza for its size I've ever bought. You can do better. read more

Best darn pizza I've ever had! The donairs are pretty darned good, too! It gets really busy between 5 and 7 pm, so if you're in any kind of hurry for food, order outside those times. read more

I love trying new things and my husband and I often drive past mr j's pizza and wanted to try it. Tonight we were going to make dinner but nothing goes better with a raptors game than pizza delivery. I looked at the menu online and was beyond impressed to see that they make panzerotti's!!!! It's the only place so far on the island that I've seen that makes them. That was my decision to try their pizza. Whomever answered the phone was very pleasant and humorous. The delivery was fast and the taste of the pizza was delightful!!! The sauce and toppings were amazing!! I think we've tried all the pizza places on the island now and my husband and I agree that we will only order from mr j's from now on!! Loved it and we are pizza snobs!!! Five stars for sure!!! Thank you mr j's! Our expectations have been surpassed! Can't wait to sink my teeth into a panzerotti soon! We drove in from Vancouver and were looking for dinner. We were worried that we wouldn't find great pizza. We asked a couple locals where they ate pizza, and they suggested the other place that rhymes with bilanders bizza. We called Mr. J's Pizza because it was closer to our hotel, and chose it on a whim. When I drove up to the restaurant, I thought it was a crack shack. It even had a crummy patio set in front - in the middle of winter. I met Mr. J in the flesh - a friendly face who during conversation, admitted that part of his restaurant's signature flair was the hole-in-the-wall feel. His own words were "slum-like." But let that not dissuade you. Upon arriving at our hotel room, the first bite was pure bliss. The pizza had all the best features of some of our favourite Vancouver pizza joints. I kid you not, we noted it's worth visiting Courteney just for the pizza. Mind you, we came here only to find a deal on a used car, so we're probably not the best ones to trust. No... We are... This pizza is awesome. I wish I hadn't eaten my half so quickly :( read more

It would of been 5 stars: however it took 1 hour and 40 minutes to arrive. Taste: fresh and flavour able. I had the J rock salad and the M's special garlic fingers. Was very good. And big portions. Almost too much foot! Big value for your money. read more

Be prepared to wonder if you have located Mr Js as its building has seen better days. And parking is tight. But the pizza is tasty with plenty of fresh toppings and the service is sweet. read more

Don't blink or you might miss it! Mr J's Pizza Etc isn't much to look at but my fiancee and I were greated by a friendly staff member working the till. We ordered to Flame Thrower and a 2 topper. The pizza's were fantastic with all the ingredients tasting very fresh and full of flavour. Not sure who was baking the 'Za but you can tell he puts effort in to it! Loaded with 2 types of cheese and toppings it's a better price point than most chains. Will definitely be a return customer. Best pizza in the valley! read more

Went out on a whim and checked out this little pizza joint and the pizza did not dissapoint. We ordered the islander and enjoyed it on the beach. The pizza took quite a while to make and the customer service was a little lacking.. Ordered a side of ranch as advertised on their menu for 55 cents and the man responded "we don't make salad so we don't have ranch" - a little rude I thought. read more

I'm usually very satisfied with me Jays pizza, his jumbalaya is fantastic, and the hot wings are great. We are very good customers having spent hundreds of dollars at his establishment by now. Last time we ordered with him he gave us some tasteless chicken wings that I wouldn't feed to my dog. When we called and asked what was up, he got very defensive and said that he gave us what he gave us on purpose and we could come and get our money back if we didn't like it. So I promptly went back for a refund, and when he gave me my money back he told me he never wanted to see me again. Not cool. Just wanted to share this. His food is great but he's a real a-hole. Incredible food for an incredible price, easy to get to and the owner is nice. Try the panzerotti! Packed full of deliciousness and comes with the best mystery dipping sauce ever. It's not quite ranch and not quite Thousand Island but it's also kinda spicy. And he makes the best Caesar salad in town with delicious garlic toast. And the spicy pizza is incredible. And the $6 lazagna makes a real good lunch. And he has purple drink. Everything at Mr. J's is awesome and affordable. He's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.... and he has really good pizza which makes him officially the best thing ever. Feel free to quote me on that. read more
