Stopped at this stylish bar/restaurant last night with three friends after attending an art opening…read moredown the street. Took a while to get seated, as the attendant seemed to be busy carrying out plates of food and making drinks at the end of the bar. After getting seated, we ordered drinks and three entrees (two specialty salads, a pasta meal, and a burger). The drinks came relatively fast, but the service on the food was incredibly slow. Well over an hour's wait. At one point I guessed, "They must be growing lettuce for the salad." Food arrived, but incorrectly prepared on one of the salads. The server offered "I specifically told them dressing on the side...I can bring it back and get it made over." We had already waited well over an hour, so we just took it as it was fearing an even longer delay. Actually, three of the meals were quite good (except for the overpriced and totally unremarkable burger), but I doubt any of us will return after the sluggish service. It was such a lengthy wait for the food and the server was so harried and overworked that ordering desserts was not offered. We had to get up and walk in search of a way to pay our bill. Good food, but that does not in itself make for a great dining experience.

What a hidden gem! We had an event here and the room was perfect. The staff was attentive and just…read morewonderful but the food was the star--10/10! Crazy good fork tender meatballs, fresh bruschetta that was amazing. The best shrimp cocktail and sauce I can remember and impressive charcuterie--was really great and would highly recommend for any private event. Looking forward to returning to try the brunch --several mentioned it was wonderful

It's been six years since my visit to Fish Tales during the pandemic and it was nice to be back…read morewhile in the area. My husband & I loved our dinner. The Saturday special: baked tilapia in a bed of risotto and zucchini was delightful. The service was excellent. The only downside was the A/C. The dining room felt extremely cold at 4pm. I had to go to the car to get my jacket. We were freezing. I wish Fish Tales had sangria in its cocktail menu.

We came here on a Friday for fish fry, and arrived shortly after they opened. Good thing, because…read morethey filled up very quickly and we hadn't had a reservation. It was the first weekend they had their patio open to dining, so we naturally chose a spot outside -- in the shade, it was a bit much in the unabated sun. I thought we'd have a river view, but it was hidden behind some trees and a few cabins. Oh well. Still a nice outdoor spot away from the city. We were warned that there was a party of like 20 people coming in shortly to the patio, but we did not notice and interruption in our service as the gang flowed in. I will never love the ability to smoke cigarettes on an outdoor patio, so maybe I should have sat inside, but still worth being outside despite the occasional irritation. To each their own. Our server was great, and was very patient with our slow proces of ordering drinks, appetizers, and the meal in relatively spaced out time periods. The Old Fashioneds were great, without too much of the muddle and soda and more emphasis on the booze -- still a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, though! I enjoyed the cheese curds and was very intrigued by their potato and cheddar crusted cod. I usually get the fried cod during a Friday Fish Fry, but this sounded somehow elevated. Alas, I didn't find it to provide any extra or new flavors, and there was nothing crispy about it. The breading was more like a mooshy exterior that didn't do a ton for the fish. The fish was cooked nicely, but the very high price was very much not warranted. I can get crispier and lower priced cod closer to home, so just can't justify the trip for the fish fry. But then there was dessert. I'm always looking to recreate a favorite (late) childhood dessert that involved brandy infused ice cream. I always ask at a Friday Fish Fry if they can make a Brandy Alexander that's thick enough you need a spoon. They claimed this to be the case, and they did not disappoint. This was a delicious Brandy Alexander and definitely worth a trip back. So, while I wasn't crazy about my overpriced, non-crispy fish fry, I still enjoyed myself and enjoyed my food... I'm glad we came and tried it out, and if you're looking for a nice supper club spot, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The reviews are accurate. Our first time started on a high…read morenote and went downhill from there. They kept forgetting to bring my drink after ordering and service took a long time overall. But The food was OK. The highlight of my meal were the chips. For beverages, there are no refills and the price for the iced tea was more expensive than the beer (they don't carry Summer Shandy BTW). Something we haven't really seen before. Even if it is advertised on the menu, they could mention it as a reminder when offering a second beverage . It was ultimately shocking that, ultimately, our server didn't really think of coming back with the change after paying with a bigger bill (and we still gave a good tip).

I appreciate him making the situation right!!** My family has had a cabin on Lake WI for the last 23 years. We have been going to Lakeside since we have had our cabin. Lakeside has immensely gone downhill. DO NOT GAMBLE HERE!! Last night my sister pulled a $25 pull tab and they tried to say that it was already pulled for the day. How would a pull tab that she had just ripped open have already been pulled for the day???! I don't believe it for a second. I have pictures of my pull tab that was "signed" after the bartender had already taken it behind the bar. The bartender then refused to let me take a picture of their pull tab sheet because the handwriting on there sheet and the handwriting on the pull tab were the exact same handwriting and pen color... seems very fishy to me. The bartenders were being incredibly rude about the situation and playing a blame game on us over $25??!
