Disappointed and Disrespected -- Would Not Recommend We had planned to end our all-staff day on Lake Wisconsin with a visit to Remy's Thirsty Moose on Friday. However, from the water, the place looked closed and almost abandoned -- not exactly the welcoming spot we were expecting. Earlier in the day, one of my staff members had parked near the restaurant, off the road on the pavement by the house. When we returned from our boat outing, her car was gone. It had been towed -- by the owner of Remy's. We were told there was a sign posted, but upon investigation, we found it was nearly impossible to see due to overgrown brush. The parking lot was empty. The restaurant was empty. At no point was her car causing an inconvenience to anyone. It's disheartening to think that, rather than welcoming potential patrons, Remy's chose to tow a vehicle -- one that may have been associated with future business. This was the last thing my staff member needed. She was driving her daughter's car because her own vehicle had broken down the weekend before. She'd already spent $750 on repairs and now had to pay nearly $300 to retrieve the towed car -- a devastating and unnecessary expense. I've visited Remy's in the past and had heard about their struggles with staffing and slow business. After this experience, it's clear why. There's no compassion or consideration here -- just a quick trigger for towing, with zero effort to understand the situation. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend Remy's Thirsty Moose to anyone who values kindness, community, or decency. There are far better spots on the lake that won't leave you feeling taken advantage of. read more

Really good food at this lakeside bar and grill. Service was good, though they were out of two IPAs on the menu (bottles). There are only tall top tables and it does get loud as people come in off the lake, but a fun and active place. The sandwiches we ordered were all very tasty - Calf Moose burger, Philly Kicker (nice spice), Rueben, and chicken sandwich. The fries are good but I was disappointed that the cheese curds were the bland frozen version (unlike the cubes I saw from another reviewer). read more

Group of 4 stopped because of the great reviews. We are all excited that we did! Beer list incredible, spot on making cocktails, 3 minutes from highway 39/90/94, easy on and off. The white American cheese curds were very tasty and had a delicious stretchy bite. Helen recommended the spicy ranch and she was correct! 2 of us had the grouper, 1 bluegill and an incredible 8 oz cod sandwich. We all agree that this was one of the best lenten lunches we have had in quite a while. Helen was exceptional as a server, she immediately made us feel at home and welcomed. On a lake with a great view. No wait staff at tables is annoying but seems common in Wisconsin anymore. Had Italian beef and it was just ok. Cheese curds are typical. Just leaving Remi's from a fantastic lunch. Just a short 3 miles off 90/94/39 right on the beautiful shores of Lake Wisconsin. On our way to LaCrosse for a nice relaxing weekend. Stopped here on the way to Minnesota. We split the duck wontons, Gouda Mac bites, and chicken sandwich. All of the food was delicious as was my margarita! We sat on the patio with our dog. We live on Lake Wisconsin and can see Remi's from our front step. Convenient location aside, this place is one of the best on the lake. We generally stop by for dinner about once a month, and we are always pleased to see Shayn behind the bar. The menu is a mix of standard Wisconsin bar food and a few unique items like deep-fried green beans. I almost always order the Philly cheese steak, and if you ask nicely, they'll even make it vegetarian (basically sautéed mushrooms, onions, peppers and melted cheese on a bun). I'm not a strict vegetarian, so I can't attest to whether or not they use a separate spot on the grill or anything like that, but they oblige my odd request every time I ask for it. I do hope they add one or two more items to the menu that could be made without meat, but I'll keep going back as long as I can get my mushroom sandwich :) I love sitting at the outdoor bar in the summer, and they have live music almost every weekend during the warm months. The kitchen closes kind of early, but that is also pretty normal for a lot of the bar/restaurants around here. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

We also had a great waitress who clued me in to a neat place in the area that I'd never heard of (non-restaurant). She also gave us a Remi's coozie for our wait, which wasn't bad at all.
