Realizing I wanted to replace all the windows and patio doors, I delayed a year and contacted Frank when I was ready. First of all, Frank is a joy to work with. He was always communicative, prompt and friendly. He offered for us to come out to the showroom and see the windows and doors in person. I went with the Milgard Trinsic Windows and Doors. Second, the install team was excellent. Every day, they arrived on time and hit the ground running. Having a number of contractors for projects over the past 5 years, this team has been the best. I moved out of the house during the project, but I stopped by daily and everything was always cleaned up and in order. Third, I really appreciated the effort and thoroughness on the last day of cleaning the exterior and especially the interior of the house. The team takes great pride in their work and you can tell that is 100% employee owned. If I had to say there was a down side, its you may be in for a wait when placing your order because their work is in high demand (the first year quote, I would have had to wait 4-5 months). Finally, the windows and doors are beautiful. What a difference this made in regards to temperature, sound, and clarity. Not to mention, the ease at using the doors and the contemporary narrow frame modernized our home. We could not be happier.

It took longer than expected. lifetime was communicative. We had such a good experience we called them to add a window but they didn't seem interested. Did not come out to provide estimate. Said the "engineering" and permitting would be expensive. Instead, we worked with city building inspection/permitting. Wrote our own permit application, drew diagram, and paid the cheap fee of $30. All approved; no issues. Window was not of the quality we could have purchased from lifetime but at least I have a window in what was a previously dark cave of a bathroom! We will try to use them again in future if need arises. Don't confuse this company with Lifetime exteriors (I don't believe it's same company).

Between 2021 and 2023, our nonprofit animal sanctuary was blessed to receive donated roofing, siding, and windows through a partnership involving High Performance Homes, Owens Corning, James Hardie, and Simonton Windows. We were deeply grateful and publicly thanked everyone involved. Today, we're asking those same companies to look at what was actually installed. Our documented concerns now include: * Mold-affected sheathing that was specifically agreed to be removed--but wasn't. * Bird blocking that was supposed to be repaired, leaving our attic vulnerable to years of pest intrusion. * A roof leak caused by improper installation. * Roofing components that did not initially meet the requirements for the Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Warranty. * Windows installed without proper flashing. * Siding installed over deteriorated materials. * James Hardie products that were cut but not sealed as required by the published installation instructions. * Hundreds of nail holes filled with caulk instead of the ColorPlus touch-up system, leaving our home looking like it has chicken pox covered in calamine lotion. The proposed solution? Paint over the caulk. But a James Hardie representative told us the factory-baked ColorPlus finish and field-applied paint weather differently over time. Today's touch-up becomes tomorrow's two-tone house. So we have a sincere question. **Owens Corning, James Hardie, and Simonton Windows: Is this the level of workmanship you expect from contractors who represent your brands and your reputations?** We're not asking for upgrades. We're asking for the quality, workmanship, and manufacturer-compliant installations that were promised from the beginning. They installed a barrier between the kitchen and the living room during the project so that the dust and adhesive didn't bother my wife's and my asthma. They kept things clean during construction and removed all the debris during and after the job was done. My wife and I are so happy with them that when the loan on the kitchen flooring is paid down we are going to have them take up the carpet in the living room and hallway and install flooring there.

Now, this morning, I'm receiving another text message saying they were unable to confirm the appointment, so they canceled it and are telling me that if I want to reschedule, I have to call them. Let's start with the good. The sales rep we had visit to get the process started was probably one…read moreof the best salespeople we've ever talked to and did a great job both selling the product (in this case windows) and making the payment process simple. When it came time to install, the installers were generally nice, did a good job cleaning up after themselves and the exterior work was done reasonably well. Things did not go quite so well inside. The windows themselves work fine and are an improvement over what we had previously, but our house was built in 1943 and the interior trim on all the windows and doors is mitered and a particular width. We had also previously tested other window and door frames with a 3M lead test and found that they potentially had lead paint underneath the top layer. The sales rep had assured us they would match the framing style and definitely do a lead test first. The installers did not seem to care about this because they did not test for lead and started right in. When they came to tell us they were finished and show us the final product, what we got was a giant blocky casing that did not in any way match what was in the house. For context, our framing is 3.5 inches in width on all windows and doors in the house. This new framing is 5.5 inches, adding an additional 2 inches all the way around and not mitered. Because the new trim is wider, it doesn't sit level with other framing in the house and it also means the headboard of our bed doesn't fit properly against the wall anymore either. Not to mention it just looks out of place. Additionally, some of the brad nails were also sticking out of the casing and they did not caulk beneath the bottom portion of the trim. I have included pictures for reference, including an example of the original style from one of our other windows we haven't had replaced yet. I understand that sometimes when you have work done on your house, you have to hire someone else to complete another portion or do it yourself (for example, an electrician is not going to repair your wall well or at all after they cut into it), but this feels pretty bad at ~$7K when you also have to do all the painting yourself. What's worse is now we're probably going to end up having to redo the interior casing trim ourselves too. Overall disappointed.
