Vapiano was a pleasant surprise! Ambiance is really nice and open, the lighting and decor are great. Service is fine...nobody is very friendly but since it's kind of self-service it isn't too much of a sticking point. Food is pretty good...highly recommend the bruschetta and the vegan pasta. Others in our party had a pizza, pasta, and a cesar salad. Reviews were pretty good all around. Prices are reasonable so we'll definitely return. read more

The Vapiano at the Moulin Rouge is a lovely location. Upstairs they have lots of comfy chairs. It's a wonderful atmosphere to relax, dine and read in. Sometimes I even put my feet up on an empty chair; the atmosphere is that laid back. They also have a little toy corner for children upstairs. Check out what house made lemonades are available at the bar instead of buying the downstairs drinks. Oh, and the food is just what you'd expect from Vapiano: delicious and as fresh as can be. Decent food, horrible concept. As you walk in the host hands you a card and tells you to seat yourself. Then you must go up to the cooking station for each item you would like to order, and wait in a line while a cook prepares the orders of everyone in front of you one at a time. Want an appetizer? There's a line for that. Care for a salad? You'll have to wait in a separate line for that. Actually want pasta? Go wait in that long line over there. Oh, and if you'd like a glass of wine to go with your dinner or some dessert, you'll have to walk up a flight of stairs and stand in those lines. If you're looking for a relaxing meal that you can share with friends over a glass of wine and enjoy some appetizers while you wait for your entrees... think again. WOW would be my first impression when walking into this place. I must admit i REALLY like the layout and design they have done at this VAPIANO. As you know this is a chain of restaurants where you order your food directly from the cook and they cook it in front of you. Personally i am NOT a FAN of this style of restaurants, but i would indeed make an acception for this particular one. I have been to a few others but at this one i felt really good the entire time i was there, from the moment i walked in the door until leaving again. I really like the two levels as up stairs is not only more eating area, but also a Vapiano Bar, which is not in all Vapiano. A complete disaster. Had to wait 15 mins in antipasti and 30 mins in pasta queue before being able to order. This place is a MUST AVOID place. Go to Mcdonalds instead, at least you'll get served within minutes. read more

Great food and atmosphere. We ate here three days in a row during our stay in Vienna. They have many different types of pizza and pasta on the menu but you can customize your food any way you like. The staff was pretty friendly and service was good. read more

It is a chain and they have several of these in Vienna. We stumbled upon this particular one just getting lost in the shopping district. Excellent pasta and salad choices. They give you a card at the door, you walk over to the food line, wait in line, choose your pasta/salad and ingredients, choose your bread, alcohol of choice at the bar and pay before you get out. Ive been to Vapiano twice here in Vienna and once in the USA. They are the same. The food and service. Just the language and decor is different :) Its a variety of Pizza, Salad, and Pastas. Usually have a line where you wait then they make the salad and pasta in front of you to your taste. You are given a chip card and scan it for whatever you order and pay at the door. Pizza you wait a little longer for obviously. Its a good place for a family. Clean and tasty. Average prices. This particular Vapiano has really neat ambiance. read more

Not sure why this place has had bad reviews, this is a relaxed and fun place to eat. You come in and get a card to charge your food and drinks on and off you go. I had the carbonate, my boys had pizza and daughter calzone. The pasta was cooked in front of me, the piazza and canzone were prepared and cooked fresh. Vapiano has a couple of restraunts in Vienna. This one is my favourite because it is builed in the old Moulin Rouge, which has a long history. Becouse of that it has the unique flair. The food is like in any other Vapiano, delicious and wonderful. Sometimes the music is a little bit noisey but this a tiny problem. Come by and look if I am right.
