IRagazzi was recommended to us by our hotel. It was so good that we returned the second night for dinner. We ordered the Buffalina which had buffalo milk mozzarella. To be honest, I couldn't tell the difference but the pizza was amazing. The crust was so delicious, we finished every bite. It was also big enough to share. The second night we were there, we ordered their pasta dishes. The linguine vongole was so amazing. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the olive oil garlic sauce was spot on. The spaghetti bolognese was equally tasty. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was romantic with candle lights. Enjoy! read more

after eating heavy Czech and Austrian food for the last week, we were craving an Italian dinner, got a recommendation from our hotel and ended up here. So glad we did, it was perfect for what we wanted staff were all Italian and seemed to know everyone who came in. this made for a very comfortable setting we had octopus carpaccio, risotto and spaghetti carbonara. all were excellent. service was helpful and friendly, value was great, 40 euros with two beers. definitely recommend if you're in the mariahilferstrasse area read more

Wow!! What a pleasant surprise. Just stopped by the closest restaurant on our way home. Got lucky to get table for 5 on New Years Eve. It was busy and it took a while for our food to come out but it was totally worth it. The spaghetti with tomato sauce was so simple but delicious. Same for the spaghetti aglio. So simple and good. We dipped all the bread in the leftover olive oil at the end. Noodles were perfect al dente. The margarita pizza was also really good. Also tried the trio of desserts. Panna cotta, chocolate mousse, and tiramisu. All very good but the tiramisu was the best I've ever had!!!! If you're looking for really good Italian food in Vienna this is the place. A really friendly place with a nice atmosphere. The pasta are homemade and tasty. The proportions were a little small for us but we really enjoyed our dishes. The service is fast and you can go late in the evening (we came at 10.30pm). I am Italian and came here for dinner during the ECR with my colleagues. The place was very crowded but then, during the ECR, all the restaurants in Vienna are quite busy. Foremost, let me just say that this place is nothing special. Like with all of my reviews, the rating is based on the quality and taste of the food they serve. I had an opportunity to eat at I Ragazzi 4 or 5 times, as I was dragged there by the crowd I was with. I Ragazzi is another mass produced Italian food joint in Vienna, frequented by tourists and some locals. The food is consistently below average to average and here are some of the highlights: - Pizza - dry, greasy, thin and cardboardy. Tomato sauce is not made from San Marzano tomatoes, but appears to be processed or store bought. Same goes for the cheese. Heartburn is guaranteed. I am surprised that there are people out there who would consider saying that this is an average pizza, let alone the best in Vienna. This is a shame, as they have a real wood burning oven that could make some spectacular product. - Pasta - NO fresh pasta. Talk about lazy! Sauces - bolognese - below average. Cheap ingredients and the sauce was probably sitting on the stove for hours if not days; carbonara - again, dripping with grease. Parmesan - NOT freshly grated, but stale and out of a bag. The service is like their food - the waiters appear angry that you came at all and that they have to serve you - every time! read more

Carbonara was too rich for my taste but ok. Pesto was fantastic and made with fresh basil, cooked to a perfect al dente. The food was nice. We ordered tomato soup and bruschetta as a starter, with some focaccia (pizza bread) on the side. We had some wine and San Pellegrino water to accompany our food. For the main, we had a 4-cheese pizza and gnocchi with tomato and mozzarella. Nothing special, just good food. The people were very nice as well. Excellent Italian restaurant in a quaint neighborhood just outside the museum quarter. As a New Yorker and an Italian, I am very fussy about my Italian food. I Ragazzi was excellent. The staff were all Italian and spoke Italian, English and German. The service was perfect, friendly and professional, ambiance was modern and romantic, candle lit. The food was fresh and well prepared, also fairly priced. I loved the insalata di mare and gnocchi. We enjoyed our wine thoroughly, and they served their Sambuca chilled with coffee beans - a lovely touch. This is a perfect choice if you're looking for good Italian food in Vienna. read more

I have tried two different pizzas and certainly find them good, but not that good that I would go out of my way to come here (we came both times as it was near our hotel and we were not in a position to take up other choices).
