I just say no now and they leave it at that. The first time I asked if it was a rewards card or a credit card. Her response was about how much I would save on this purchase and subsequent purchase, so I bluntly asked if this rewards program requires a credit check. She confirmed that it does. I feel like a lot of people are duped into opening up a credit card here and they're too embarrassed to backtrack. I even know someone who fell for it. Don't be shy to turn them down. There are better credit cards out there. I mean if you want it go ahead, but don't let them push you into it!
