To hire a boiler companies to come out and replace pipes is insanely expensive, and not really worth it if they are not working on the boiler itself. (I don't think the pipe cares who replaces it)! That part out of the way, after having major disasters in the past, and calling some local boiler companies (who I won't name), I tried Preferred plumbing last year and again this morn. They came out and fixed it before there was any damage. Unlike the boiler company who was scheduled out for weeks and let me stew in my own live steam. Matt, and Brett, and Cooper are the best! Great guys - they know what they're doing, and they don't waste your time. They're so personable, I probably wasted THEIR time talking to them too much! I'm so satisfied that I have decided to finally replace the waterline in my house sometime in the next few months, using Preferred Plumbing, because I completely trust them now. Not only were they quick to respond, they did great work, they did it well, and as usual, they came in at a very reasonable price. I grew up in Michigan, but I've only been back here since 2015, and you know how hard it is to find professionals that you can trust in a new town. They have always been competitive with their pricing, and I have considered switching for better prices that I have not found many times. In my case any issues that arise are typically at fault of the manufacturer, and not on them. They have done their best to assist in getting things replaced under warranty when possible. Matt has extreme attention to detail and the work he completes looks clean and is done well. His installs look great and organized, and even just servicing the AC you can tell he really takes the time to do things the right way. The initial setup seemed competent, yet persistent issues soon surfaced, requiring four repair visits where each "fix" only spawned new problems--like refrigerant leaks, coil malfunctions, and evaporator failures not covered by their warranty. For instance, they charged $1,000 to repair an evaporator leak, only to insist two months later that the entire unit needed replacement at another $2,000--all while billing me for refrigerant refills every time. To make matters worse, their administrative handler was consistently rude, dismissive, and lacking in empathy, turning every interaction into an unnecessary burden. In conclusion, finding reliable HVAC services these days feels nearly impossible--true craftsmanship just isn't what it used to be. That said, the customer service at Nieboer is exceptionally poor, miserable rather; even the simplest conversations with their employees fall well short of basic cognitive function. unfortunately adding insult to injury.

Especially through the winter. I replaced the control module in hopes it would fix, but still no water flow. After countless manual pumps of a spray bottle to the new filter, I called Hometown and Tim answered right away. Corresponding conveniently through text from there on, he came out to do an assessment and provided a very reasonable quote for a faulty valve, which also happens to be out of code and should never have been used for the purpose. He was able to come out again same day, but I was unavailable, so he came again the very next morning and cut and replaced the piping within 10 minutes, showing me what was done and I am thrilled that the water is now flowing seamlessly. A musician himself, we shared some good chatter about shared interests. All in all, great friendly guy who identified the issue and got the problem fixed quickly. What's not to love about that? One week after " completing" the job, I had electrical failures upstairs. They came back corrected their mistake. Second week during a renovation project the builder discovered the old nob and tube wiring they said they removed was still intact and ACTIVE! Third week I went into the basement and discovered they had taken out all the light socket and electrical switches and didn't replace any of them. Five in total.
