She will give you the upscale service you desire in addition to the latest haircuts and techniques for color and extensions out there. Vanessa was very nice and professional. She asked what I wanted to do and provided great advice on how I could achieve the look I wanted. She also didn't make me feel bad for having so much hair. I went in for a consult because I was told she does curly hair extensions. She looked at my curl and said yes we can do this, matched the color perfectly but not the curl. I think I asked her twice so they will curly when I style them and she said yes. I went and had them put in I left with straight hair trusting what she said that they will get curly, then waited the 48hrs before washing it finally washed it and styled it, it wasn't the same as my curl, it looked like I had a mop on my head. I had a function to go to the day I styled it and it looked awful. So I had my stylist cut it short so at least it wasn't so noticeable and just wore it up. I proceeded to tell Chandler and she said "cutting extensions is a completely different process than cutting natural hair" then invited me back. FIRST of all she didn't address the problem and SECOND of all why would I go back to her if she didn't know anything about curly hair extensions. The extensions were great for someone with straight or wavy hair, but I have CURLY hair and I DON'T wear it straight I just want her to be accountable for what she did wrong I spent a lot of money for this, and have to have them taken out and get the right ones put in. Ashley has been the one hair stylist I've ever had that literally listens to what I want and delivers. And she doesn't try to talk me out of it. Cause as you can see...I asked for black. And almost every hair stylist I've ever been to is hesitant and and if they do it for me I get attitude the whole time. Not Ashley! She was like, "Okay we got this." And she served me black hair on a silver platter. The Orbe hair products she used on me too amazing!! I bought some just cause I absolutely loved how healthy and soft my hair looked after she was done. She also was super flexible with my schedule. I couldn't get there until about 4:30/5pm cause I work and she was totally fine with that!! Definitely will only want her to do my hair since it was done perfectly but also because of how personable and comfortable she made me feel. And yes I know why hair stylists don't like to touch black hair, let alone color hair black, but she made me feel so comfortable and didn't guilt me for having her do that instead of some cool color treatment. I was very hopeful coming into Vanity, as I extensively researched salons in the area. I stumbled across Vanity and fell in love. Initially I found Chandler's social media and was blown away by her work, which led me to the salon's social media page that only reassured me that this was THE salon. I called and luckily there was a next day appointment available which I mean I guess they get bonus points for being so available, HOWEVER I truly wish I had never even called. Don't get me wrong, the salon is beautiful, the ladies are all so kind, but I genuinely left feeling so defeated after my experience simply due to my stylist Ashley. I came in with faded two tone hair as I was previously copper and my roots have significantly grown out. My only requests were that my hair came out one color and a very light brown as close to the inspiration pic as we could get. In the beginning I felt as if I was in good hands as she said we could do it. However, as the appointment went on she began saying how my hair would still be two different colors. I tried to ask about options, as I honestly would have been open to lightening whatever needed to in order to have one color, but she said that would not be possible. So I gave up wanting one color and expressed as long as we can get it as light brown and close to the inspo picture as possible I'd be happy. She suggested we tone and she can get it to be close to the color. I asked if toning was the best option because I don't want my hair to fade and have the same two distinct tones I came in with. She reassured me it would look great. When she finally washes out the toner, she immediately suggests toning it another color before I even see my hair. We both knew it looked bad so she said to fix it we retone and go darker, however at this point the only options she offered was walking out of the salon with hair I didn't like or retone darker and hope for the best. She also said my hair needed a trim, so that in the future I had healthier hair to work with. She took less than 3 minutes to cut an inch of my hair across the back and I was charged $65 for a cut. Normally would not be an issue, I don't know if i was just out of it due to being so upset about my hair but i wasn't expecting a charge like that for MINIMAL work. Then for her to also know how sad I was about my outcome and shamelessly charge me, and ignore me after i asked for a pricing breakdown because i was never told prices to begin with was all very disheartening. I ended up walking out of the salon with two different color hair and darker which is the exact opposite of what I came in wanting. I would recommend other stylists from this salon who are clearly favored on their social media, as their work speaks for itself. I would be weary of stylists who don't have many photos or are not clearly prevalent on their account. I made the mistake of trusting whoever they gave me, assuming it would be similar to their best stylists work, however I was very wrong. read more
