Hair & Extensions - Niko - Before and after having Niko in my life - Hair Stylists Near Me - Brea, California

I had extensions put in earlier this year with my former hairstylist of 7yrs and was never satisfied esp with the amount I was paying her. When I researched hair stylists who specialize in extensions, I found Niko. During my consult, Niko showed me hair samples of different colors and quality (My last stylist never showed me samples of hair to choose from) Niko is so good at picking hair with different color dimensions where it looks natural. I've never felt so confident after getting my hair done before! I 10000% recommend going to Niko - She is responsive, flexible and takes so much pride in her work. Thank you sooo much! See you again in Dec!!! read more

Niko really listens to your needs and does what you ask. She never pushes you into a decision you might regret, either. She usually cuts and dyes my hair. Her new studio looks amazing and I love the boutique, too! read more

I was so lucky to find Niko 3 years ago when I was having issues with my hair color from a previous salon. Niko transformed my color on my first visit and I have been seeing her monthly since then. She is an excellent colorist who uses only high quality products. If your color is important to you, you will not be disappointed trying her. I recently moved over 50 miles away to the SF Valley but continue to come to Brea for Niko because she is that good! read more

Niko is the absolute best. Referred by a colleague, she takes her time, asks all the right questions and ensures you leave with the result you're looking for. I found her on Yelp, after going a year of researching for a new stylist. I wanted someone who knew the importance of their own schedule, was empathetic about my hair needs, but most of all would give me what i pay for. Niko is Such a warm welcoming soul, who is a perfectionist at best! Always training to learn todays style, and trends. She takes her time and truly cares about my hairs health! I was growing out my hair for a year 12 months virgin- with highlighted breaking ends that needed some TLC. The previous stylist used Goldwell, and my hair was breaking---Thank goodness I read the other reviews on yelp, and had a consultation with her, I'm happy to also transition into Kevin Murphy product line, and have my hair insured with Olaplex while my hair processes to blond. Im so happy to have found Niko! Shes honest with her color, and cuts wanting to truly please her clients above and beyond. I love getting Brazilian blow outs, these are my new thing with her, rather than me flat ironing my hair- its way more beneficial and is helping my hair stay strong when it used to break all the time, I really wish I would have done a Brazilian years ago!!! I cant say it enough- She takes her time processing colors, and is a genius with attention to detail! If you're looking for the best stylist in brea with a heart that matches her looks- you need to look no further! She will treat you like family--my mom even goes to her now, also she is conveniently located across from the Brea Mall, so parking isnt bad. Price is fair also, you definitely get what you pay for, and she stands behind her work! read more

Niko is the best!! Hands down I struggled with my hair for years, it was my biggest insecurity. I hated my hair and spent so much time focussed on it. I went to Niko and she fixed me :) I have been getting my hair done by her for years now and she is always so supportive of any change I want to make. I have never been happier with my hair and I'm so incredibly grateful for her! I get tape in extensions and no one can ever tell I have extensions which is a huge win. I have had a balayage, dark brown hair, bright blonde hair, and now a beautiful golden color. Niko can do anything and everything and pays so much attention to detail. Love her!! read more

I would like to start this review with a BIG Thank you Nicole! She made my hair beautiful and healthy again! She put the bounce back in my hair. I've been to several colorist the last 3 years, due to my original person retired. During that time, they burned my hair, and it was always dry and course. It seemed like all those other colorists just wanted to bleach and tone because that's all they know. Nicole was a referral, I'm so glad I listened. She's not afraid to inform you/me of what not to do vs, what should be done, and what products I should use and how to use them. I have prominent grey hair, and all those other stylists were not able to cover for me. Nicole found a way due to her knowledge to cover it and not wash out after "20 washes!" The color lasts! If you need a great hair colorist, go see her. Just don't take my spot! Haha : ) read more

Niko saved my hair! I normally don't let anyone touch my hair, I just do it myself. I've been doing bright red for a while now and it usually works out well. Recently I decided to go strawberry/peach blonde and bleached it myself. This didn't go well. I ended up with about 4 different colors in my hair- my natural brown roots, the top layer of my hair too yellow, the bottom darker, and a silly pink band from the most recent time I'd dyed my hair that wouldn't come out. I knew I needed help. She fixed it wonderfully! Niko took the time to talk about what I wanted to do. I explained what things I had done to it, and where I wanted it to be. I needed it evened out and toned to the right color. She explained each thing she was going to do to fix my hair, and was very communicative the whole time. She made sure I was comfortable with the steps she was taking and took my concerns into consideration, and used information that I knew about my hair to make a plan, for example that my hair at the roots would probably lift really quickly. She is really smart about color and how to do it all. All together she bleached my natural roots, did a toner on my roots and the longer pinkish roots, did subtle highlights, did another toner on the whole head. There were many other steps in between that made sure she was treating my hair gently and safely. She took time to do things carefully so that I would end up looking great and not just get it finished. She also made sure that I was comfortable, that the water temp was good, and that my scalp wasn't hurting or anything like that. She is very sweet and friendly. I was so thrilled when she was done! It came out even better than I imagined. She's an expert! read more

Ive gone to Niko for 7 years. I've been to many other salons before & Niko is the best hair dresser ever! I get my extensions and color done. Nico is very sweet and friendly. Her space in the salon is also welcoming. I went to her for a subtle balayage ombré. She's very knowledgable and has a good eye for what looks nice. She really took her time on my hair and explained things as she went. I felt like she actually cared about the results as if it were her own head of hair she was working on. I have never felt as actively involved/consulted for my opinion as I did with her. She really listens to what you say, offers suggestions if you ask, and tries to make sure you and her are on the same page to help manage your expectations. For the first time in my life, I left a hair salon completely satisfied. The entire experience from the time I walked in the door, was great. I will definitely be back and I would recommend her to any and everyone. Thanks so much again Nico! I have never loved my hair color so much! read more

Hair & Extensions - Niko - Subtle yet beautiful! - Hair Stylists Near Me - Brea, California

Before going to Niko, I literally went to Brea mall to buy the comb clip on hair extensions. They were expensive & never looked right. As I have gotten older, in my 40s... My hair is thinner & only works if it's short. I've been seeing Niko for a couple years now and she's done different colors different long lengths & I've always been very happy....it's taking years off of how I look.!!!! She brings her cute cat and awesome personality so it's a pleasure to go get pampered every time!!! read more

This post is long overdue. I been going to Niko for over a year now and she the best. My hair isn't easy to work with because it is Latina hair and I went from black to blonde. When I came to Niko I had really damaged hair from bleached and glue in extensions. She has made my hair so healthy and gorgeous, she is so great with advice and very patience. I am so happy and lucky to have met her. read more

I literally get compliments on my hair the second I leave my hair appts with Niko. Why? Because she DELIVERS. I catch myself gazing at the results like, oh yes, this look is fierce. ::Flips Hair:: BIG BIG FAN of the VOLUSPA CANDLES! The Saijo Persimmon seriously smells like so good, it's fruity and made of coconut wax. LOVE! Super good house warming gift! read more

Niko is the literal best. I will not let anyone else touch my hair. I'm from OC and I've been driving to Beverly Hills for years to get my hair done because I'm super particular about hair/nails/any beauty services and I have difficult hair. My best friend turned me on to Niko and I haven't looked back. I come from a mixed-ethnic background and have wavy and textured hair. When wet or air dried, my hair looks 1000x different than when it's styled. Niko takes her time to make sure my hair looks beautiful in its natural state as well as styled. Cutting it wet and dry to make sure it always looks great. I always walk out feeling great about myself. I 10/10 recommend! read more

I have been going to Niko for 5 years now. She's a master of her craft and has performed many color styles on me such as an extreme color correction from dying my own hair and incredible balayage that I never stop getting compliments on. She has also done beautiful long full head extensions which she is also a perfectionist at. She is kind, and takes her time with my hair. Long ago, she took on the task of color correcting my hair from jet black to more of my natural color after another stylist from "5 Star" Hairroin Salon in Los Angeles very rudely told me, "Your hair can't be fixed. That's what you get for dumping black boxed dye all over it.", (Which made me feel really bummed out and embarrassed). Guess what, I took my hair over to someone who cares and has patience and she fixed it in two sessions. She has a cute private suite with coffee, lattes, tea, wine, water and snacks/goodies. Also, she uses cruelty free and high quality hair products by Kevin Murphy which is important to my personal values. Going to her salon is simply a treat and I always look forward to my appointments :) Ps. She does great henna eyebrow tinting- I recommend that service as well! read more

When I first came to niko my roots had grown out so much I made my own form of ombré. I needed something new and she knew just what to do. I've had my fair share of bad experiences at the salon, but coming to Niko I have complete trust in her so I don't worry. If I show her a picture of what I had in mind she'll have it looking the exact same or even have it looking better! She's very beautiful and friendly! The setup Of her space is very adorable and welcoming. I know when I come it's going to be a good time and I always leave feeling beautiful because any style or color she does with my hair works out perfectly. Niko is amazing! She is incredibly kind, attentive and a hair wiz! I walked in with a mess of over-bleached over-processed hair and wasn't exactly sure what I wanted aside from some sort of balayage. Since I was unsure I let her make a lot of judgement calls regarding my color and I'm so glad I did! It came out beautifully. On top of the wonderful cut + color she was very quick. I'm very antsy and hate having to sit for long periods of time so normally getting my hair cut is quite the chore. The time flew by and before I knew it I was done. Definitely will keep returning to her again and again :) read more

There's a reason why Niko has all 5 stars for her reviews because she does NOT disappoint. My co worker referred me to Niko and when I saw her Instagram, I knew I had to book an appointment!! I've never loved my hair as much as I do now. Niko is passionate about what she does and it truly shows by her work. I went from dull curly flat hair to short bouncy caramel balayage/ombré sexiness!!! She inspired me and gave me a whole new look. Niko fixed my hair and gave me exactly what I wanted! I showed her a photo and the end result was down to a T. I have dark stubborn asian hair and she has given me the most beautiful blonde balayages with all these detailed dimensions all while leaving my hair feeling healthy. The first time she did my hair was the first time in my whole life I've ever immediately liked my hair afterwards... it didn't take that "oh maybe after a week or so I'll like it better" that you know we have all gone through! Even when I asked her for "layers but not like Rachel from Friends layers", she somehow was able to decipher that and knew exactly what would fit my face best. Niko is so beautiful, talented and easy going. Her salon space is super cute, she offers you coffee and makes you feel very comfortable. She's a perfectionist and uses the best of the best high end products on her clients. She's the most amazing hair colorist, so good that I drive an hour to see her to beautify my hair. I get compliments on my hair all the time and have her to thank for it! Niko is hands down the best, move over Guy Tang! read more
