I expected to receive my order today. Order # 1168710. I placed it on your site Nov 7th. I paid $14.20 for USPS priority mail because I needed it the 14th. I called you today the 12th and found out you just shipped it TODAY which is 6 days later. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I will be calling my credit card provider and canceling the payment. When and if I receive it, I will be taking it back to the post office to return it. I am an Army veteran and my son joined the Cival Air Patrol. I had to order the uniforms from Vanguard and was very disappointed in their customer service. I measured my son's head for his ABU and Flight caps and used their sizing guide to order them. When they arrived they were way too small and we called to exchange them. We were told we would have to pay shipping to return and $8.95 to ship new hat. We have some items on back order and asked to just have the new hat shipped with existing order. They refused stating that we had to pay the $8.95 and they had no way to ship with our existing order. They over charge for everything on their website and because it is outdated uniforms i am unable to buy at our local base. I was able to buy the brown shirts, belts, and patches at the base for a third of the cost. read more

ABUs, outrageous shipping prices and took forever to deliver, sent wrong sizes, both my blouse and trousers were larger than I ordered them to be, almost everyone I've talked to in CAP has had a similar experiences regarding uniforms. The company provides great products and customer service is helpful. My only issue is the return policy. Customer must pay for both the return shipment and a processing fee for returns. Processing fee is either 15% of the cost of the items or $4.50 whichever is greater. For military members that live overseas, I highly recommend you do not utilize this service. If you must return it will cost you. Recommend using USAMM instead. read more

Vanguard has some of the worst cus service for an on line business that I have experienced. I have places three orders with them and every one has had an error. One of them even had an error in the corrected order they made, requiring yet another call to them. With that original inaccurate order the initial reaction of the woman I spoke with was "The order should have been right". I totally agree, but obviously it was not or I would not be calling to fix it! Additionally, Vanguard is the only on line retailer I have dealt with that can not figure out that the state I live in does not charge sales tax on clothing and I was told they can not do an order without charging sales tax on clothing. Everyone else on the Internet can, even with a mixed order. They are also completely unresponsive to order adjustments, even though my order was placed only a few hours earlier on a Sunday evening and their web site says they take 3-5 days to fulfill orders. I was told it was too difficult. Even a massive company like Amazon can adjust orders. Vanguard's customer service is simply pathetic if it even exists at all. If it were not for the fact that they have been given an official monopoly to sell Civil Air Patrol items I would not reward them with my business, they do not deserve it. Also, the quality of the uniform polo shirts they sell and their size selection on many items is also terrible. Look for somewhere else more deserving to spend your money. read more

In the days of Amazon, instant customization, and overnight shipping, Vanguard is a dinosaur. I would not use them except for the fact that they are the only authorized vendor for my son's uniforms. The website to place orders isn't *horrible*, but it certainly isn't good. More importantly, however, is the cost and time involved in their shipping processes. Order is over $50 (or something like that) and shipping is free, but if you happen to forget something forget it because then you pay $10 to ship a $7 order (and that was the cheapest available option for 10-day shipping). More recently I placed another order through them, 5 days later and my credit card has been charged but they have never sent me an email confirming that the order was placed. Had to call the company to make sure that the order was actually in-process, and while the folks I spoke with were courteous and helpful, I never should have needed to place that call. Go figure, you give someone an exclusive contract for uniforms and their ability to deliver decent customer service goes downhill... read more

Vanguard Industries, the source, the warehouse, the place where military ribbons, medals, and uniform accessories live. I'm so glad that this place is in not too far away from me because I needed some ribbons for my uniform. I called in the AM and Vanguard had my pick up and pay order ready at 1pm. They came through in the clutch and I'm appreciative for it. The staff at Vanguard were very nice and had all the uniform items I requested in a box ready to go. I paid for them and drove 1 hour home happy that I had all my uniform items updated. So glad they are located near by and have good people working there. read more

My rank was lost in the mail. I needed it on a tight timeline. Vanguard overnighted another set of rank. Coincidently the lost package was delivered. I offered to return it and they advised me to just keep it. I was impressed by their attention and taking the extra step to ensure I had what I needed. Their Prices are overpriced except to bulk buyers. They take way too long to actually ship anything. It isn't that hard to simply place an Item inbox and had it over to the post office or contact USPS and the other carriers for daily pickup. It's sad that these people control most of the branch's insignia and price them too high. If there was an exchange for the programs I'm in that us vanguard, I would use that as military exchanges (particularly the naval exchange) tends to lower prices. read more

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Worst ordering ever. Payed for overnight shipping to find out it wouldn't arrive until the next week because the overpriced shipping option doesn't tell you that until they take the time to get it packed up they'll ship it "it overnight" . Horrible. Not until I looked into the fact that it didn't arrive did their hidden policy come up. When you ask for overnight shipping that's something that should be stated then. Not hidden. I ordered a WWI Victory Medal from them. The ribbon was put on so crooked that it looked like a child had made it. Very disappointed. I would have lost so much money paying for initial shipping, return shipping AND a restocking fee that I just ate it. I contacted vanguard and was advised that it returned because it only had the city listed for shipping. They advised me that I had to pay for shipping again to have it shipped to my home.
