I had my fireplace inspected and cleaned by Sam. Great job. Very pleased. Sam gave me great advice. We will definitely use Sam again.

My dealings with Lot's of Carpets has been a journey over 1 1/2 years costing me thousands of…read moredollars, disappointment, and dealing with some sketchy business practices at best. Buyer beware-I was sold defective luxury vinyl floating tile that neither the manufacturer nor Lot's of Carpet backed up when it began buckling in various areas of the flooring. Initially it was beautiful for a few months and when I called to complain, the manager,Diane, sent the installers out (I asked her to come) and they stated that my dogs caused the problem. Supposedly, the offender had several accidents near the expansion joints and it wicked up the floating channels and caused it to split apart (I was told the floor was water-proof) and accepting this we paid for further material and installation, However, the problem continued in areas that the dogs didn't have access to and were blocked by baby gates. Because we had so much money into the floor we continued to buy more flooring to patch it. I asked Diane to come and see the floor and she continued to have the installers observe the damage. I asked for the customer service number of the manufacturer (located in Canada) because there was no local number posted. Diane put me off saying she would follow up because she felt she would be more effective. She kept putting me off and had all sorts of excuses not to look at the floor. I spent an entire day trying to research the problem regarding my floor and found out in a trade journal that the buckling was an identified problem in the past few years (she told me I was the only person who ever complained about it) and it was caused by thermal expansion. Apparently, changes in temperature (I have constant Michigan temperatures with central air and heat so we are not talking about the desert here) causes the floating floor to expand and contract and over a short period of time the stress causes the joints to come apart and the floor buckles). The picture of damage looked exactly like I was having to contend with. My husband took the article in to Diane (which she said she never got) and she again put us off and said she was going to contact the vendor. She never called back-and the problem continued. I finally got on the phone and confronted her and she agreed to to meet at my home and look at the floor with the flooring vendor. Unfortunately, most of the damage appears at night and we had the worse damage repaired (over the year and a half we have been complaining) but new areas are beginning to show at night again when the product contracts. The vendor told us he would see if he could get further product or see what could be done. Well, the bottom line is that the floor manufacturing company went bankrupt and Lot's of Carpet has never responded to us responsibly. The manufacturing company is still operating in Canada but has no ties in the United States and we are denied being able to be compensated. I think I could have been less angry if our complaints had been heeded by Lot's of Carpeting. Diane was not the owner but told us that Larry Jenkins (the owner) let's her do all the customer dealings. I am not accusing anyone of direct misdeeds but I find it curious that she ordered the product in the same year that company filed bankruptcy in the United States. Being the floor professional that she alleged to be, why wouldn't she know they were having problems? Also why didn't she know about the problems of thermal contraction? I went with a local business thinking I would best satisfied with a local company-I was certainly wrong. My husband and I were raised in the area-he is retired from the military (Marines) after 23 years of service and I was a professional nurse-this was not a great welcome home. No wonder the owner had to write glowing reports about the business himself: but, signing your own name-seriously? Please beware potential customers.

This is the email I sent them after they told me that they would not repair my microwave and sent me a voucher for what I paid for it plus tax. They also stated that my current extended warranty for the microwave, which was 5 yrs is now void because they fulfilled the contract. If I purchase another microwave and I want another extended warranty, I will need to purchase one.. I am reaching out about my KitchenAid microwave and the recent decision on my warranty claim. The microwave is now just over 2 years old. During the manufacturer's warranty period, the microwave developed a problem and was repaired. Unfortunately, the microwave has now developed the same problem again. A service technician recently came out and diagnosed the same issue that was previously repaired under the manufacturer's warranty. I was then informed the repair would not be covered, and I am being offered a $491.14 electronic gift card toward a replacement microwave. I appreciate that Assurant has offered assistance. I respectfully ask that the decision be reconsidered. The microwave is only slightly over 2 years old, and the failure is the same problem that previously required repair under the manufacturer's warranty. It is disappointing that the same issue has now returned so soon after the original repair. The replacement cost for the same KitchenAid microwave is currently approximately $699. This means that even with the voucher, I will have to pay over $200 for a replacement of a relatively new appliance that has experienced the same failure twice. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator at the same time and wish for the same color, profile, and brand. I understand that warranty terms and coverage limitations exist. However, given the circumstances, I do not feel it is entirely fair to me to bear the additional $200 cost for a replacement of the same appliance since the same problem occurred again. I am respectfully asking whether Assurant would consider increasing the voucher amount to cover the full replacement cost, or otherwise provide additional assistance as a goodwill resolution? I have been a customer who purchased extended warranty protection with the expectation that it would provide meaningful assistance if the appliance experienced a significant failure. It is my hope that Assurant will consider the history of this particular appliance and stand behind the resolution in a way that is fair to the customer. Thank you for taking the time to review my situation. I sincerely appreciate your consideration and hope that you will reconsider the amount of the assistance being offered. This email was never answered. Buyer beware: the extended warranty is a joke and is not at all useful. Lowe's and Assurant were no help.

Called Shepherd Shoreline and Jaylyn (sp?) and Adam replaced gutters and downspouts and did a beautiful job. The gutters work so well (old ones had leaked in spots) and made this old house look incredible and they took all the old parts away. So called em again when the old, heavy, wooden garage door got to be almost impossible for me to open and I know they were still busy repairing and replacing wind damaged homes but they came out and put in a new door that looks clean and neat and opens at the touch of a button every time. Plus Tony and Garrett (sp?) took all the old nasty parts away and cleaned up the joint. Can't say enough 'bout Shepherd Shoreline. . . but wait I think their prices are very reasonable and I am so glad I called them a couple Junes ago. Thank ;you. ksh
