We come here 2 times a year to picK up candy bars for fundraising. Our first stIp is in the front store with all their awesomeness. Candy galore, cheesecake cakes and a lot of bakery items. In college, organizations did the candy bar fundraiser from Vande Walle's all the time. Their mint meltaways are second to NONE. Since I moved out of the area after graduation, I haven't had a chance to swing by and get my chocolate fix. We went on a mini getaway back to the Valley and had to make a pit stop! Because of COVID, the tours are currently up and running, but usually you can take a self guided tour through their "factory" area. This shop is perfect for putting little goody baskets together, purchasing goodies for showers or weddings, and of course- fundraisers! We brought family who had never been, and they bought all sorts of goodies to try. I went with the mint melt away candy bar and these milk chocolate covered marshmallows (my favorite candy, and they did not disappoint). For the times, the shop could be downsized in tables, because we even 8 people shopping in there, it was hard to keep your distance. And when checking out, you do so over the display counter, so there isn't a clear area to line up, taking more room from the floor space. So just a heads up when planning a visit. read more

Yes, you read that right! 9 bucks for all of it! I was so shocked, I asked her to repeat the price thinking she must have said $29! They have a couple of small tables incase you want to eat inside. I love how they switch up their selection frequently, but still the staff has knowledge of what they are currently offering. Atmosphere: The parking lot is a bit small, especially when the holiday season rolls around. I recommend going early in the day or late right around close. A bit of an old school vibe when you walk in, classy little place. Desserts: Yum yum YUM. Whether you are getting chocolate covered candies, or some of their pastry items it is almost impossible to go wrong. Growing up in Appleton, this place was the go to place for good chocolates. Every Christmas we had the angel food chocolates and while they weren't my favorite as a kid, they have grown on me and now during the holiday season these are just a great staple to have and super addicting. Their melt away chocolates have always been a favorite of mine and everyone I know who has tried them - they are awesome. While I have never personally ordered from them (I just eat them at the holidays and have been gifted them by my parents multiple times), my mom seems to have always had good service and experience with them. I worked with Tess, Steve's wife to design custom gift boxes for my customers, and they goft boxes were a huge hit - salted carmels, carmel popcorn, chocolate cows, and a chocolate thank you bar. I was expecting this place to be out of sight in price, but it was surprisingly affordable. The cookies were especially inexpensive! I could buy two cookies almost the size of literal frisbees for $5. They had a cute little selection of cookies, chocolates, and even ice cream. The staff was friendly, too! Once again VandeWalle's didn't disappoint! Just a few hours after an 11" snowstorm the parking lot was plowed, sidewalks shoveled & lots of samples were all ready for my visit. I arrived during a Packer game so of course it wasn't too crowded. There are hundreds or thousands of options at VandeWalle's & I'm pretty sure every one of them is very good or better. I think I'll save my superlatives & scatter them throughout other reviews. There's just nothing here that's flawed. Remember there's more than just chocolates here: cookies, danishes, doughnuts, fancy cakes, pies, ice cream. There's just one little table by a window that would be fun to sit at & enjoy your purchases. Funny, I've never seen anyone sitting there. This is one of my home-state businesses I'd love to pick up & plop in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. I'd sure need more than one tiny table! These candy bars are always easy to sell as VW's chocolate is fantastic. In store, their selection of chocolate is fantastic. They have an area to select chocolate by the pound. They also have pre-packaged selections - including boxed goods that make great gifts. Vande Walle's also makes their own ice cream. What a beautiful old fashioned candy and treats store to visit. They have treats for all occasions and they also sell cakes and fresh ice cream by the quart or cone! The prices are incredibly reasonable as well. We bought a brownie, a grasshopper cake, and like 7 pieces of chocolate and candy for an attractive $17. Crazy good. Im from NY originally and recently moved out this way. Back home candy shops are plentiful and amazing especially in the NYC area. This place is hands down the greatest candy/confectionary store I've ever been to. I recently had their mint chocolate meltaways. I was so impressed that I decided to go there to pick up some truffles and meltaways to give as Christmas gifts to my daughters and fiancé. This is the second Christmas I have placed an order for VandeWalle's cute little butter cookies for my daughter. First shipment (first Christmas was shipped to Las Vegas), and this Christmas the shipment was destined for Tucson. Once again, the cookies were delivered in a timely fashion, and in excellent condition. This Christmas I ordered the 1 and 1/4 # in a Christmas tree shaped box with a clear lid. My daughter was pleased, and once again declared the cookies were heavenly. Yes, were is the past tense, since they are all gone 2 days before Christmas! She inquired of her Wisconsin Santa Mom "will they have more cookies after Christmas??" .... During this tough time of the pandemic a person needs to do more for the happiness of others. Nicest people with the best candy ever. My 95 year old mother only eats Vande Walles candy but she lives in Arizona. The people are always happy to make special assortments so I can send them to mom. Stopped in here on 3/2/19 while travelling from Oshkosh to Green Bay because their website said they carried Cashew Brittle. We were not greeted. No Cashew Brittle available, the 3 of us got a chocolate chip cookie for the road. It was the hardest cookie that I've ever taken a bite out of but we were hungry. 2 bites in I said I thought there were Walnuts in it because my mouth was starting to burn. My sister said she couldn't imagine anyone would put any nut but pecans in a chocolate chip cookie. I thought she might be right and took another bite. Nope, definite burning and now tingling. Took a few benadryl to head off the blisters on the roof of my mouth and spent the the rest of the day in a benadryl haze. I can't believe how incredibly irresponsible it is to have a card that says Chocolate Chip Cookie in big letters and does not mention the nuts in it. Gave 1 star because I know from past experience that the angel food is awesome. read more

I was given the wrong item and when I went back to exchange it, she acted like it was my fault. When I purchased the items, I repeated my order several times because she asked me what I wanted twice. My bf absolutely is in lust with their chocolates...I indulge in a capuccino or chocolate meltaway every few months and they do rock my world. Ice cream is good and the cakes are good for this area (I am a baker and self confessed bakery snob). What I don't like is how surly some of the workers seem to get when you ask them to custom build you a box of chocolates. Yes...I do know you have boxes already made, but if this isn't an option, why do you let me buy it in the pound and have boxes for it? I stop in to pick up my dad chocolates for gifts on holidays and everytime I get attitude. Keep up the good chocolates and goodies...lose the employees who seem unable to be bothered to do their job. I try to go at times to have them make me a box when it isn't busy and maybe only one or two other people shopping in the store. I have purchased numerous cakes for special occasions and have NEVER been disappointed! Our family favorite is the white layer cake with raspberry filling. 4 layers of cake with yummy filling! Buttercream frosting. Very beautifully decorated too! I will always return for these special cakes. A little higher priced but well worth it! So many other flavor combinations too.
