What a cool little store! We were visiting Appleton and stopped in here and loved the wide variety of locally-themed and locally-made goods. We got some t-shirts and socks but I also loved all the art, the cards, maps and other items that were for sale. Great store with great merchandise. They have a book that was published with some amazing stories from WI, which includes a picture and quote from the husband of one of teammates And a ton of other totally rad  and locally made gifts to get your family and friends (or yourself!) for Christmas!! So many cute things! I stopped in here on an afternoon walk. My mom and I were greeted by the woman working and she was chatty and friendly the whole time we were there. I ended up buying a Wisconsin t-shirt for myself and a Harry Potter bracelet for my sister. The bracelet was a little pricey, but I feel like everything here is handmade or locally made and sold. There were some things that I looked at and definitely thought "with some googling and patience, I could make that myself." And there were other things I saw and thought "These would be more expensive on Etsy." But most things were crazy cute, decently priced and fun. And the store worker was very nice. I think it is defintely worth a visit. read more

I was on a quest to get some holiday cards and was easily distracted by all the neat items. I'm a sucker for anything that displays our Wisconsin pride whether it's on a t-shirt, hat, stickers or buttons - I want it all! Sure some of these items can be a little pricey, but it's worth it as all of these items are made from local artist and vendors. If you love to shop local or you want to get me a present (wink wink) you have to stop here. Easily the best gift shop in Appleton. I always find the most unique gifts here! Owners are super nice too.

Perfect place to go for anyone who loves random Wisconsin stuff! Great for gift giving too, especially if you want out of town family to take something back with them from our great state. It's more expensive than random stuff you can buy at Walmart, but it's all homemade and you are supporting a local business. read more

I had out of town visitors this week, and when shopping on College, they wanted to go to Blue Moon. I didn't tell them about my awful experience here, and thought I'd see what happened. Once again, we entered and weren't greeted or even acknowledged by the woman behind the counter. We looked around the shop independently, which is fine...a friend of mine made a small purchase and the woman seemed annoyed while ringing it up, as though we weren't spending enough money to make it worthwhile for her to spend time conversing with us. Seriously, I do feel badly for the crafters who sell there, their stuff is lovely but the owner or employee kills it. read more

This is my favorite shop in Appleton. They offer so many awesome things, from local artists. Since it is local and handmade art, things are little pricier, but that's to be expected. The staff is always friendly. I normally want everything here, I have gotten art, clothing, jewelry, hats, scarves, hair accessories, and Christmas ornaments there. Some things have been for me and some have been gifts for others. A definite must stop if you are a local or just visiting! read more

The current reviews posted here are disappointing and should NOT be used to gauge the caliber and warmth of this charming shop! Owner Cathy S. has a sweet, quirky way of not only engaging her customers, but chatting with each of them as if they were long-time friends! I have been in her shop several times, and each time I am warmly greeted and offered a "first look" at something new she's found or a hand-made item just dropped off by a local artist. It's possible the reviews were written when a high-school girl was watching the shop (and if so, no doubt that's been corrected). Regardless, this shop is DEFINITELY worth a second (and even third) visit! The items are rotated frequently so the assortment is always fresh! And...of course...it feels so good to support local artists!! read more

Stopped in here on a whim while visiting the Farmer's Market downtown...was tickled the owner had opened up so early! As an artist myself, I was impressed with the quality of items in the shop, as well as layout and displays...my daughter even said--- please make this the place you shop for my birthday! but the most awesome part of our visit was the shop owner...I mentioned we were looking at relocating to the Appleton area, and she was so kind and knowledgeable about Appleton..you can tell she really loves the area, and is a great ambassador for the city..we left there saying...when can we move! I love this store! Every time I go in I notice more and more cool stuff. Some of the stuff can be pricy like their jewelry, but most of it is affordable. I love that they have works from all different kinds of artists. They have someone who makes silverware jewelry, someone who makes portraits of all the landmarks around Appleton, and they even have someone who makes homemade soaps, which are one of my favorites! They just have the cutest stuff, like a little crocheted octopuses by the cash register. To address those who feel that the girl behind the desk is "unfriendly", I think the term for it is more like shy. When you go into the store, it's true she won't greet you, but I don't think that is a very big deal. Also, I never got a stuck up vibe from her when she was ringing me up. We mentioned we went to one of the local high schools and she said she went there too, and then started chatting and discussing and was very friendly. Im from Atlanta, but i travel to Appleton often for business. Blue Moon is a wonderful little store full of so many fun and unique things that I eagerly buy. It's hard to find creative gifts that are also reasonably priced. Couldn't be happier to have stumbled onto this lovely store in Appleton or anywhere. Cute place, neat things. However I do not plan to go back, as whomever was working didn't have the courtesy to even say 'hi', nor did she say 'good bye' when leaving. I expect to at least be greeted, especially when going somewhere new.. too bad, it's nice to have different stores downtown Appleton, but if you are not friendly, you're off the shopping list. read more

This adorable shop adds to college avenue. If there were more stores like this, I would shop downtown more often. However I do try to make my way over there as much as possible to support a local business. The merchandise is all very unique and reasonably priced. A lot of items have something to do with the fox valley, I especially like the T-shirts that say "home" inside of an outline of Wisconsin. On a last note, each time I've gone there, the service has been great. One of my favorite stores. read more
