Last Friday, May 8th, I was called by a salesman at Van Trow Toyota in Monroe, LA. The salesman told me he found a truck that I've been looking for, and that he took it in on a trade and wanted me to come look at it. It was a 2023 Chevy Z71 RST. We negotiated a bit via phone on the price prior to me coming to the dealership to look at it. When I arrived at the dealership, a friend of mine who rode with me, the salesman, and myself took a short ride at which time the salesman filled the tank up with fuel. We arrived back at the dealership at which time my wife arrived, hopped in the truck with my buddy and I, and we took a test ride which lasted approximately 30 minutes. During the test ride, the radio would occasionally mute itself, and every 3-5 minutes, it would turn completely off and reboot itself, which was extremely annoying considering it wouldn't make it through a full song without turning off. It would display a statement on the screen during each reboot that stated "Device is starting." There was also a loud banging noise under the front end of the truck, that became increasingly more intense each time we hit a bump. These two issues were what I considered to be minor issues, and considering it was a used vehicle, I did not immediately discard the vehicle. Instead, I arrived back at the dealership and told the salesman what was happening. I explained both issues, at which time I explained that I would happily purchase the vehicle under the condition the dealership would pay to have these issues fixed. The salesman said okay, and we then walked inside and spoke with the sales manager who also agreed to my condition. The sales manager signed what he called a "we owe" form which stated in writing Van Trow Toyota is fully responsible for fixing the noise under the front end of the vehicle as well as the radio issue, which I explained was more than likely going to be a simple system update in which a Chevrolet Dealership was going to have to do. I told the manager I don't care who technically has to fix it, as long as Van Trow Toyota pays for it. The salesman agreed, signed the form, and gave me a copy along with the rest of my paperwork upon completion of the agreement. Monday, May 11th, I arrived back at Van Trow Toyota to speak with the salesman for what I understood to be simple drop-off of my vehicle, so that it could be diagnosed and then possibly fixed that day. When I arrived, the salesman introduced me to the Used Car Lot Manager, Wayne, who immediately stated he did not feel responsible for fixing a used vehicle with the milage this one has. Wayne made multiple statements which consisted of "This is an old truck, noises under the truck are normal", "That's probably nothing serious, I wouldn't be worried about it" and "Louisiana has some of the worst roads, it is probably just an alignment issue." Wayne made it immediately clear he had no intention on fixing the issues that were agreed upon prior to my buying the vehicle. Wayne then stated "Look, before we even leave for this ride, if this is not a vehicle you're happy with I will simply undo the deal." There was no initiative to fix the issues, instead I believe it was his way of attempting to bully me into backing down. As the test ride concluded, Wayne continued to show absolutely no interest in attempting to fix the vehicle, at which time I offered to bring it to a mechanic I know and get the issues diagnosed. Wayne then stated "if it's not too much money, I'll consider paying for it." My mechanic was able to quickly determine part of the noise issue underneath the vehicle and fixed it on the spot, at no charge. The rest of the noise continued, but he did tell me I could bring it back at a later time if I was unable to get it resolved, and he would work it into his schedule to get fixed. I arrived back at Van Trow, and informed the salesman of what happened, I told the salesman the truck needs a tire alignment, and he offered to pay for the alignment which was $110.00. I was appreciative of this, and took it to get an alignment right then. The salesman paid for the alignment out of his own pocket because yet again, Van Trow Toyota refused. The tire alignment uncovered the root cause of the loud noise, and the mechanic was able to get it completely fixed at that point. I was very grateful. I then brought my truck back to Van Trow Toyota, and advised Wayne the radio was still broken. Wayne advised he would not fix my radio issue, keep in mind, I have a written and signed statement stating Van Trow Toyota would cover the cost of whatever it takes to have the software/radio issue fixed. Wayne still refused. I then went to Benoit Chevy in Farmerville, and told them what my issue was. I asked them to do a full system software update, as after everything I read online concluded that was most likely the issue. Benoit Chevy told me it would cost approximately $300 to do the update, at which time I once again contacted my salesman to no avail read more

Was told my brakes would come in on my brand new seqouia in 6 months. Took almost a year before they got them in so I had to deal with squealing brakes that whole time. They finally got them in and scheduled service and was told it would take 2-3 hours and it took all day. Almost 9 hours. read more

On Wed. the 24th of Nov. my husband and I were heading back home from Simmons in Bastrop when I noticed the brake light wouldn't go out. I called my dealer, Yokem Toyota in Shreveport and was told the alternator was going out and to get to the nearest dealer asap. Your dealer came up on the phone when I googled Toyota dealer. Your personnel went above and beyond in getting us taken care of. They gave me the number of a wreaker as the car stopped about a mile or so from you shop and they also arranged for someone to come and pick me up while my husband stayed with the auto. Your technician went above and beyond and stayed late to get our car fixed. We are very thankful for your service advisor, Jenay Boyte and the service technician that stayed late to work on the vehicle. Thank you for such great service and care. read more

I would give them no stars if I had a choice. They keep delaying telling us that the vehicle be ready then we come up to pick it up and they find another issue this is going on for nearly a month now. I find it fascinating that they have so many great reviews whenever they have screwed up so badly on this vehicle, it's still not ready and I'm very very unhappy. read more

My Experience at Van Trow Toyota, I bought a used car there 60 days ago. While in the process of testing driving I noticed the low tire pressure light was on. I told my salesmen, Spencer, and he assured me that everything was fine and that it was due to change in air temperature, plus the fact the car had being setting on the lot for a little while. He said they all needed air, but mainly the back driver side. He added air and light went off. I bought the car and drove it for about two weeks and the tire pressure light came back on, again I added air. A few weeks later the light came back on again. I brought the car into the dealership and the service department told me that their was a nail in the side of the same tire that was really low when I went on a test drive. I was told I would have to pay full price for the tire. I thought this was unfair because I was told the tires were fine and thought it should it be on the dealership to replace the tire. Spencer refused, so I asked to speak with Mr. Lord who is charge of preowned car sales. He told me he did not believe that they should pay for the tire, and he offered to pay for half (which would have been about $70). I stated that this was unacceptable. After several minutes of discussion Mr Lord states that he is sorry that he couldn't help me and turns around and walks away. He did not offer to shake my hand or allow me a chance respond. I found this to be very rude. At no point was I discourteous to Mr. Lord during our negotiation. I did not yell, swear, or treat him rudely. I came from a culture and background that if negotiations do not work out you shake hands and treat the other person with respect. Just because we could not agree on a resolution does not mean Mr. Lord should be rude. This behavior was made worse by the fact he did it front of my wife and child. I went to have the tire replaced at another business and they noted that based on the wear and smoothness of where the nail punctured my tire, it likely occurred far before I bought the car. What good does it to make an appointment when your car isn't moved ahead of others in line knowing not everyone made an appointment?

I never had any issues to I had to deal with Debby in service . Was suppose to order parts for my car ,and never did till 3 weeks later when I call and check on my parts them she keep saying she will call back and she never did :(next time I'm just going to take my business to Toyota in Ruston . They way more effective when ordering parts and customer service!!! read more

Don't ever go to Van Trow. They don't listen to their customers and don't communicate well. I got a lot of attitude and the majority of the work I needed to be done wasn't.I made an appointment online for today at 8:15 am for an oil change, brakes and rotors. When I arrived I told her I had made an appointment online and I showed her( Debbie) the coupon for the oil change, and brakes and rotors I told her my steering wheel shakes when you slow down I told her it maybe my brakes or rotors I need to tell which one and whether it was the front or the back. She took my coupons. Well no one had called me by noon. My husband took me by she didn't know anything she only knew the oil had been changed and they were finished. I spoke to Debbie 3 time @1:27, 2:04. 2:28 They didn't tell me it was the front breaks and rotors but they found I needed a hub bearing. I had told them to do the work. She called back to say they didn't have the hub bearing. She said I would have to pay for the hub bearing when I come in and they would but it on Wednesday. I asked her how is that going to work I don't want to pay and end up being charged more Wednesday. mind you the price kept going up the more I talked to Debbie it was a thousand, then 1154.64 and lastly 1174.64. Today she said I would pay 424.97. I said okay. Guess what they had not did the brakes nor rotors. I told her I will just pay for my oil change then now it is 3:00 . They charged me 174 and some change. Debbie didn't do anything I wanted done the hub bearing was to be on Wednesday. Then she over charged me on oil change. But the ticket was already printed out. I asked her was it a synthetic oil change or conventional. She claimed I had Synthetic oil because she rung up what I pointed to and they charged me extra because my truck holds 7 quarts not 5 on the coupon. I told her I wanted what was mentioned in the coupon no one said a thing to me until I was checking out. She did fix my ticket was $165.49 for my oil change. Don't go here. THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD. Wish I could give it no stars A lady, named Renee was so rude and mean. By the time I left, I felt bullied, belittled, intimidated, and beatened down. I honestly wanted to give up. I was not respected and was not taken seriously at all. I wanted a 2015 used Toyota Camry. It was listed as $17,995 but she told me it was $18,900. I told her I would offer her $14,500 (hoping that she'll negotiate with me and meet me at $16,000-16,500). "OH NO HONEY, you ain't giving me no offer, I'm giving YOU an offer!! We running a business here, I've been working for 15 years, and I ain't finna let you give us a run for our money baby. We not finna lose no money over you. If the people down the street offering you a better deal, take your business down there." I got up and left. Drove two hours to Alexandria, for a brand new 2018 Toyota Camry for $23,000 at Walker Toyota. Go see Mrs. Sheena. She's worth the two hour drive. read more

Really these people are the best...Had to take my car I had just bought to have airbags changed out and oil change and check as I had just bought the car. .....Because I had not made an appt. I was at the end of the que..... 2 plus hours was the wait time...(It was a few days before Christmas ) I had noticed they look to be sitting up for a luncheon but did not give much thought until about 21/2 hours later no one was around and I was starting to get a bit hungry (well more than a bit...) A tall Older gent finally came through I said you must be here to tell me my RAV4 was ready or else. I will be snacking on the Mechanic''s arm... He look so stricken and replied it was the Co. Christmas Party and they had pulled in all the employees to have lunch.... He then took my arm and led me to the most beautiful homegrown potluck luncheon. Apologizing profusely. . Went after the most amazing lunch to get my car as it was ready and she handed me my keys said Merry Christmas. I ask how much did I owe for oil change and inspection. Again she said Merry Christmas. Had such a horrible experience that I had to write a review. In the past week I was helping my mother look for a new car and tested many SUV's with third row seating. My mother came down to the Honda Pilot and the Toyota Highlander. When we first got to the dealership we requested Eddie Floyd for our salesman. We requested him since he sold a vehicle to my father. Now the problem started when we asked for the price of the vehicle. We had to ask Eddie three times in a two day period to get a price from him. His excuse was he was busy and it slipped his mind. Also when he finally gave us a price and when asked for the total price (including tax, title, and license) he made the comment "we don't usually go into this much detail, if a person comes into this place, they know they want a Toyota. I took that as rude and unprofessional. My mother wanted the Highlander but after that rude comment and horrible service we went to Ryan Honda and bought the pilot. So Van Trow, thank Eddie Floyd for losing a sale and a future customer! Just to let everybody know, Ryan Honda was excellent and wanted our business!! read more
