I sent a message to AmRamp over the weekend and received a follow-up within 24 hours by Jocelyn. She made sure the best place for the install and got everything set up before his release date. David contacted me to make sure I knew what to expect and made sure I knew a ramp prescription may help me with some of the bill - which I was not aware of. And finally Zack did the install by himself within 2 hours and the setup is perfect on our garage. I am very thankful for the customer service they provided in the midst of a difficult situation.

Josh Nech is the owner and president of Olde North Stairlifts and Mobility -…read morehttps://oldenorthstairlift.com/ In early June 2025, Josh installed a Pinnacle SL 600 for us in our townhouse in Durham. Josh is a very systematic, extremely organized one-man band. He transported the parts and pieces of the system to us and did the job of putting in the track and setting up the chair system in about 2 hours - add an extra hour for the work entailed in putting up safety bars at the top and bottom of the stairs to assist "passengers" in getting on and off the chair. Josh did a deep dive into these stairlift systems when he became interested in building a business installing these things and selected a premium, top-of-the-line chair and track as his product of choice. Though our staircase is a simple, straight staircase, he has deep experience with all manner of complex stairways that aren't always linear. He does his own troubleshooting, test drives the chair, gets the system dialed in to exactly where it needs to be in order to function precisely, responsively, and safely. And he is capable of briefing owners on the ins and outs of the system - on the best way to care for the product, on safe operating procedures, on owner maintenance for a system that is, as I see it, designed to be stress free for the user. It doesn't require deep cleaning care, has built in ways of functioning even in a local electric power blackout, and very quickly made out lives so much easier. He stands by his product, and is truly a polite, friendly, dedicated business owner - and a guy with some great tools geared to making the job of installing these chairs one that he does with confidence and care, quickly and cleanly. He explains every piece and part of the product, and spells out how to use the chair safely - though he wasn't quite prepared to accept a suggestion for a codicil that would specify grandkids can't regard this device as their own, personal space ships . . . I recommend Josh Mech and Old North Stairlift and Mobility unreservedly.

After initially talking to them everything seemed fine. I told them I had a few requests and they agreed those requests were reasonable. After they started the demo they didn't want to honor our agreement and my initial request. They were argumentative, they didn't want to answer Any questions. They actually told me "you'll see what it looks like when we're finished". After two weeks on the job, I fired them for substandard work. The floor tile they layed was incorrect. The framing they did for a new wall was out of plumb and not square. Their plumber left the new plumbing line open and raw sewage was running out underneath the house. They just wanted to turn a quick buck and leave asap and their work reflected that.

I also know that more so especially handicapped people I try in every way to accommodate them to the best of my ability. Like for instance I saw a client looking to get a haircut and I took my clippers outside the shop and cut his hair because he had a specific need. I go into this place and I couldn't believe it for me it was like a handicapped haven for people with special needs (like myself) then I asked for a simple replacement piece for me to be able to drive experiencing freedom again (driving knob) and Wow to my surprise I 1st was met with an outrageous price for the knob and installation that cost a whole lot less elsewhere without the issues of liability (on the internet and tractor store) but then I was told that they could not sell it to me because of liability issues (am I not handicapped) and is there a law that says handicapped people can't drive or equip themselves with a good product to help their situation not hinder it. Idk maybe it's just me but I'd rather go to another state than to ever deal with these people again thanks for nothing.....
