I had asked for a French acrylic pedicure. I just got a dry pedicure with Acrylic overlay. Amanda did an excellent job and I am really happy. I'm a nail tech myself and have little time to really do my own toes (not to mention it takes me forever and my back already hurts lol) The place was nice and all and the vibes were cute. From walking in I knew it was going to be good. I'd had recent experiences with nail salons around the area and it was always rushed and not worth what I paid for. I walked in Van nails for an eyebrow wax and ended up with it plus a pedicure because the atmosphere and employees were that welcoming and friendly. They (and Van) know most everybody by name, if you're new they make sure to learn your name and use it while speaking which was a little touch that made my experience better. I came in because of the positive reviews which was a complete mistake. Completely overpriced and horrible pedicure by Mary. She left my nails a shapeless blob of gel with gel all over the skin on my toes. Worst pedicure I've ever had, and I've lived all over the U.S. and had some pretty awful pedicures. For the quality and service they provide, I cannot fathom how they justify the prices that they charge. There are so many better places in Pensacola to get your nails done. The tech did a good job and everyone there was very friendly. However, and this is a big deal for me, her workstation was not clean. She didn't change out the towel from her last customer and she took tools out of her drawer that were obviously not cleaned. I should have stopped her then but I was not comfortable speaking up. Called to make an appointment for two pedicures and immediately felt like I was Vans best friend. When we arrived we were welcomed in and shown our chairs. This probably has have been the best pedicure I have had in town. We were not rushed at all and the price paid was definitely worth it. Will be going here again for my pedicures. read more

There is an up charge for anything possible. Nail shape, different colors, french manicure, and cuticle cutting were all $10-$15 up charges. Not only this, but the outcome of everyone's nails are awful. They are changing color, lopsided, messy and sloppy. The nail tech cut my fingers under my nails to the point they BLED. She was distracted and did an uneven amount of layers on my nails and was so rough with the cuticle cutting my nails are sore. The outcome of the french tip for my toes and my nails are awful. They don't even reach the ends of my nailsThe entire salon seemed to be rushed and hectic. Multiple people complained about the outcome of their nails only to be blown off. . I barely ever say i will never go back somewhere, but I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. UPDATE: The day after I went to get my pedicure, my big toe felt like it was on fire. I couldn't take how pain after an hour, I ended up going to urgent care in which I was told my toenail was INFECTED. it is infected to the point i am prescribed oral and topical antibiotics. I had an appt for a pedicure with Lee at Van's Nail Salon this morning at 10:00am. This would be my 2nd time at this salon so he already knew me and I had made this appt personally with him at my last appt. However, when I showed up at 9:55 am in the pouring rain this morning, Noone in the salon acknowledged me or even said "hi" to me when I walked into the salon. Lee looked right at me, who was doing someone's nails, and acted like he didn't know me or that I had an appt with him. There was another Asian woman there, who wasn't doing anything, and just looked at me, too, without saying a word. I wasn't instructed to pick a nail color or to sit in a chair to soak my feet. I felt very alienated. There are PLENTY of nail salons in Pensacola and I faithfully get a pedi every week and I will NOT be going back to Van's Nail Salon!!! read more
