They did not do 1/2 of what they claim that they do on their website when I had my vehicle serviced. They didn't check all of the fluids, they didn't check the pressure in the tires and I waited over an hour to get my car in. I don't ask for anything special, I don't have excessive expectations. On May 12 my son went into this Valvoline to get his oil changed. I drove his car a couple of days later. It needs power steering fluid, and air in a tire. He purchased a windshield wiper from them but it was installed wrong or it's the wrong wiper for the vehicle. He just left Valvoline. None of this should have been an issue right after leaving that place. In addition to that, he said he waited an hour to get the oil changed. I believe that it's s better to go to a regular auto shop to get one's vehicle serviced. It might be a bit more, but you get what you pay for. read more

A buddy of mine brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change. They took over two hours without communicating what was going on during the oil change. Well apparently they "accidentally drained the transmission fluid". Currently my vehicle is not shifting right. Hoping they can make this right. But I'm pretty disappointed that their technician can't even decipher between an oil plug and a transmission. Find another oil place or do it on your own, its not that hard. read more

The guy explained the difference in the oils, since I am clueless about that, said it was recommended that my transmission fluid be changed. Other shops I've been to have flat out refused to do it, but these guys were happy to help. The cashier even looked up additional coupons to save me money. I know there's a labor shortage, but these guys have no idea what they're doing. Went in for a transmission flush, it would take about 20-25 mins anywhere else; it took them that long to realize I had to reposition my car so they could get to the right spot in my engine, and the entire time I could hear them dropping parts under my car. This is all after I was asked to give up my second-in-line spot for a guy that was "there earlier", so I'm already an hour and a half in by the time they figure out what they need to do. About a two hour process when it should have taken 45 minutes. I even had to reschedule an appointment that I went in thinking I had almost an hour cushion for. Unbelievable. read more

I'm not a Valvoline IOC regular customer. So I can't comment on the routine oil changes and other service performed by this establishment. What I do want to make known is the very high level of courteousness, customer focus and professionalism I experienced Wednesday evening. Due to sub-zero cold spell we've been in, my low tire pressure warning light was flashing. I gassed up at a station near my office and drove over to their air station. No joy. The compressor ran but produced no significant pressure. I tried for the full three minutes of run time but my tire pressure remained too low for the sensors. I drove to a second station. Same thing. By now, my jacket and trousers were streaked with road grime from stooping over in the snow and constantly brushing up against my (badly in need of a wash) vehicle. I was cold and mighty irritated. Driving to yet a third station I saw the Valvoline sign. I pulled in to an oil change bay and immediately started to apologize for just needing air and offered to pay. I figured a few bucks per tire at that point was money well spent. The mechanic on duty stopped me and said there was no need to apologize. It would be his pleasure to check my tires and make sure they were fully pressurized and there would be no charge. When I told him my plight he explained that in extreme cold, outdoor gas station compressors often malfunction and can be rendered useless if not regularly bled of excess moisture and otherwise well maintained. Who knew? He said that even though their equipment was indoors, they take routine steps to ensure it is always operating optimally. At that point a fellow I presumed to be the manager came over. The mechanic said I was in for just air. The manager too said that their store is happy to provide the service free of charge and then offered to make sure my windshield washer was topped off (also no charge). He also made the point about the unreliability of gas station compressors in cold weather. He further stated that on such a slow night (I was the only customer) he was glad he could get me right in. He said sometimes when it's really busy he feels bad that some people have long waits for just a 2 to 3 minute tire check. I drove away profusely thanking both of them for really making what had been to that point a long, not very pleasant day (even before the whole tire pressure fiasco) into something much brighter. I only wish I'd gotten their names so I could personally acknowledge them online. So, if you're in Eagan and need air in your tires, you know where to go. And while your there, I hope you'll consider buying an oil change, coolant flush or whatever else your car may need. If you're lucky enough to have the two guys that were on duty Wednesday evening, you'll be very well taken care of indeed. read more

NEVER bring your vehicle here. I Brought my vehicle in for a routine maintenance transmission service, I specifically asked them if they carried the correct synthetic transmission fluid for my car. Technician stated "They have something comparable to it" after the service was complete and almost $200.00 later I left and went home. The next couple of days my transmission shift points were shifting rough. I brought. My vehicle to my local dealership the following week, uneasy about the behavior of my transmission I asked the dealer to look at possible malfunctioning occurring with the transmission . The results came back stating valvoline used a conventional transmission fluid, I was told 3rd, 4th, gears may not return to normal shifting point behavior. The dealership advisor stated I may need a new transmission. ‍ $345.0 0 later after another transmission fluid change plus diagnostics I am furious to say the least. I called up Valvoline corporation and made a claim, waited a couple days later for the corporate offic to third party a phone with the Eagan location. The manager stated "Because I brought my vehicle to a dealership and not to them, there is nothing they can do" BEWARE! on their invoices is where it states if doing such a thing they aren't responsible. (Absolutely appalling, disrespectful and disappointing I was to hear that) As if I would bring my vehicle back to them after what happened!? You would think a supposedly creditable place of business would make it right. At this point all I want is to have them atleast refund my money back that I invested into the service from them and the dealership. Of course they know It's a high chance I will need a new trans they want nothing to do with it.. It definitely shows true character when an oil company of all companies will stay willfully ignorant and screw the consumer over.. I am making the steps to bring them to court. read more

We get most of our auto maintenance and repairs done from the same mechanic that we have been going to for over 20 years. We love Dan however driving to Prescott is about 20 minutes from our house and for a routine oil change, the Eagan Valvoline is about a block from my office. Both my wife and I had previously stopped here a few times for minor items like getting air in our tires or some washer fluid. We since have been by for a couple of oil changes. Each time the most consistent experience has been their efficiency and really quality customer service. We've never had to wait more than a few minutes to get in and on some visits we were helped upon arrival and on our way within a few minutes. That's my kind of business! I appreciate how professional and respectful their employees have been both to myself and my wife. They have done a thorough job of explaining their services and options while not making us feel pressured. In my opinion I'll go back to a restaurant or any business for that matter if the service is excellent. There are too many other businesses and options for consumers. It's really in the best interest of the business to take care of their customers. From what we have experienced so far from the Eagan Valvoline and with my office about a block away, they will be seeing more of us. read more

Worst customer service EVER! Convinced me I needed a battery replacement. After two batteries put in my car within one week I was stranded twice with a dead car. Called them and told me to have it towed to a shop and they would cover the tow and the repair. Come to find out the battery died because of an installation issue that they are not taking blame for and refusing to cover the tow and repair they initially said they would cover. Beyond frustrated! I've been going to Valvoline locations for some time but never to the one in Eagan. I wanted to give a shout out to Dae and the other team members. I've always felt mildly pressured and mansplaned during my visits at other locations. Dae, at the Eagan location, came over and went through the products I had previously purchased and explained I didn't need an oil or air filter change yet. He recognized that I was 9 months pregnant and just talked about how to plan for when to come in and get my services done when they were actually needed. I have been hear around 30 times. All of them were a decent experience until today. They showed me the air filter and it was still pretty white and clean. I chose to wait one more oil change to replace. There was a little twig and plant piece on it. I brushed them off to the floor. The guy doing the tire air pressure said in very rude voice," Yeah, just through it on our floor." I apologized but regretted it. The floor was filthy and swept daily. I always take my car to the dealers for oil change and never had any issue but this time I got a coupon for $19.99 and want to give it a try. What a BIG mistake !!! They broke pretty much everything they touch. They broke the oil dipstick and the air filter cover. The manager told me it happens since it is plastic and all I have to do is buy the parts and replace it myself. What?? who does that? They broke my stuff but I have to replace it myself? The guy doesn't even know how to replace the air filter. They also told me since they don't have a tool to fix it, I have to go home and get a tool for them. Who does that? I drove around trying to get parts and finally the Manager was able to fix/replace the oil dipstick but the air filter cover is still broken and unable to find the part. This is completely their fault but no one including the manager offered me any thing for it. At least an apology and a refund. That didn't happen.I asked the manager to give me a full refund because I was ready to take them to court for it but he did . If not, this will be end up in court either they like it or not. The air filter cove is still broken and trying to find a part for it. This is the worst oil change place ever. I will NEVER, EVER IN A MILLION YEARS GO BACK TO THIS STORE EVER!!! The staff was very kind. But they told me I had a "pretty severe" oil leak that needed to get repaired ASAP. That afternoon when I parked in my garage I laid down a very large piece of cardboard that covered the entire area under the front half of my car. I've been watching for a month and there has been no oil leaking. I checked the dip stick at 1 week, 2 weeks, and 3 weeks later, and it was full. They also took off the cover for the oil filter, saying that the bolts had been stripped by the person who did my oil last, and they didn't have the bolts to replace it. My dad changed my oil last- he did not strip the bolts. I still am driving around without that cover, because I have no time to go into a shop to get it put on. Lastly, I paid almost double at Valvoline what I would have paid if I waited longer and went to my favorite Car-X, for the same service - and that was after a coupon. read more

Payed for synthetic blend oil change full service. They were trying to upsell me transmission flush. Mind you I have less than 70k miles on it and already had that done when i changed out my turbo booster. Then they were trying to convince me I needed a coolant flush as well. That was done during the change of my turbo booster as well. Then it was the air filter should changed. I declined. I went directly home. Next day I went to get on the road and the check engine light was on. I went home after and parked the car. After consulting. I called and spoke to Mike he said to bring it back in. I didn't feel comfortable bringing it back to valvoline. I brought it to family mechanic and they said the oil filter was put on incorrectly and corrected it for $30. Told me to watch for any increase in issues. Could cause serious damage. No check engine light on but seems to be running different might get a full diagnostic to be safe. Very concerned in the knowledgeability of staff there also another person informed me of major issues after service there. Transmission flush and transmission went out right after. I had to five myself a day before i even had the energy to call them back I am so disappointed read more

These are not mechanics, so be careful when taking their recommended services. While they may beat dealership prices they are not doing the additional services as recommended by the auto manufacturer. This can result in issues in your vehicle. Oil changes are awesome here. read more

I have been going to the Valvoline Eagan store (on Yankee Doodle Rd) to get my oil changed for the past 10+ years. I normally have a good experience, however had a bad experience on my visit on 09JUL17: The service rep told me his name was Andrew - he had a rude and surly attitude. Wasn't very pleasant, and when I presented my discount coupon he snatched it from my hand so I almost got a paper cut. Then, ordered me to keep my window all the way down for the whole visit (not what I prefer, as the shop is loud and smelly). When the oil change was complete, Andrew tossed the receipt over to the passenger seat and said I was good to go. What I didn't realize was he had attached the oil change sticker to the receipt, and never called this to my attention (or attached it to my windshield). When I got home, I was annoyed when I noticed the old sticker still on my windshield, and drove back to the Valvoline Eagan store to get the new sticker. When I arrived, Andrew made a derogatory comment about my driving, and belittled the fact I didn't notice he attached the new sticker to the receipt without telling me. Not the end of the world, just an annoying day from a Valvoline store I go to for convenience. It's a resounding "meh" for rating. Will they screw up your car? No. Will they strive to only do the barest minimum the job requires? Yes. Even if the place is a ghost town and employees outnumber customers 6:1, don't go expecting decent customer service. I suspect that's why this place was utterly deserted mid afternoon on the Saturday I stopped in. Also why I won't be back and will just stick with my usual valvoline location where the service consistently exceeds my expectations (and the lines of waiting customers consistently exceed the confines of the parking lot--I think word's out). read more
