What I do want to make known is the very high level of courteousness, customer focus and professionalism I experienced Wednesday evening. Due to sub-zero cold spell we've been in, my low tire pressure warning light was flashing. I gassed up at a station near my office and drove over to their air station. No joy. The compressor ran but produced no significant pressure. I tried for the full three minutes of run time but my tire pressure remained too low for the sensors. I drove to a second station. Same thing. By now, my jacket and trousers were streaked with road grime from stooping over in the snow and constantly brushing up against my (badly in need of a wash) vehicle. I was cold and mighty irritated. Driving to yet a third station I saw the Valvoline sign. I pulled in to an oil change bay and immediately started to apologize for just needing air and offered to pay. I figured a few bucks per tire at that point was money well spent. The mechanic on duty stopped me and said there was no need to apologize. It would be his pleasure to check my tires and make sure they were fully pressurized and there would be no charge. When I told him my plight he explained that in extreme cold, outdoor gas station compressors often malfunction and can be rendered useless if not regularly bled of excess moisture and otherwise well maintained. Who knew? He said that even though their equipment was indoors, they take routine steps to ensure it is always operating optimally. At that point a fellow I presumed to be the manager came over. The mechanic said I was in for just air. The manager too said that their store is happy to provide the service free of charge and then offered to make sure my windshield washer was topped off (also no charge). He also made the point about the unreliability of gas station compressors in cold weather. He further stated that on such a slow night (I was the only customer) he was glad he could get me right in. He said sometimes when it's really busy he feels bad that some people have long waits for just a 2 to 3 minute tire check. I drove away profusely thanking both of them for really making what had been to that point a long, not very pleasant day (even before the whole tire pressure fiasco) into something much brighter. I only wish I'd gotten their names so I could personally acknowledge them online. So, if you're in Eagan and need air in your tires, you know where to go. And while your there, I hope you'll consider buying an oil change, coolant flush or whatever else your car may need. If you're lucky enough to have the two guys that were on duty Wednesday evening, you'll be very well taken care of indeed.

I definitely would recommended this shop as trustworthy, reliable and dependable which I can tell you is not the case with all places you might consider in Eagan. One place I would stay away from and this is getting side tracked but a relatively new chain which has two locations in Eagan and while I wont explicitly name them I'll just say this about them. They are not HONEST and they market themselves as being that along with being women friendly repair shop. I have first hand experience, knew a person that was honest and worked there and left because he could not in good conscience do what they were asking of him. One being constantly up selling folks and trying to get unneeded work done. My experience along with friend who worked there has also been collaborated by neighbors and friends in the community. They have already gone through one owner but the new ones were no different in my opinion. Ok, I digress but try these guys are the complete opposite so out before you try any place claiming to be HONEST try the guys out or any other place for that matter. After the oil change and before I left, they gave me a list of things that were "wrong" ($5800) with my car. One major one was the valve cover gasket leaking. ($1700+) Leaving Honest 1 with a terrible feeling in my gut, I decided to go to get a different quote. That is where All Imports & Domestic came into play. I called them and talked to Michael and we scheduled for me to come in that day to have them look at the quote I got from Honest 1. I knew I needed new tires and some front end work (Thanks MN roads) and Michael suggested that they clean my entire engine and put dye in the oil to see where the leak(s) and coming from. He sent me a quote for the engine dye, front end work and new tires and on Tuesday of this week, I dropped my car off, hoping they didn't find the problems the Honest 1 told me about. Michael called me in the afternoon to tell me that it wasn't necessary to do the dye test because it is a very minimal leak and that also saw that my car had the wrong size tires on there...so he ordered ones that were right. I picked up my car and had a bill that was a little more then one of the jobs Honest 1 would have done that wasn't needed. This is going to be my forever go to place when I need a oil change or anything else for my current and future cars. To be fair, I don't know what the going rate for an oil change/tire rotation is in an economy that's constantly inflating like ours is right now. I paid $60ish for the oil and $30 for the tire rotation. I was glad it was under a hundred, but it still felt sorta pricey. I dunno. They do try to upsell you if you've got an older vehicle. This time they asked about spark plugs and "recommended" replacement every 60k miles. I did mine back at 90k so I'll do it again in 90k, thanks. Last time they told me the "previous guys" did something wrong with my tires and "offered" to fix it for $30. I still dunno if I believe what they said or if they just wanted to make another thirty bucks. They also pushed something about my dashboard last time and this time (because they'd put it in the vehicle's records that I'd declined it). I dunno. Can't get a read on the situation. At least when you decline they don't keep pushing, so there's that. I do know that while I wait in the lobby I overhear the chatter of the employees and the other customers. And it seems like they upsell always, or "discover" this or that problem. Like came in for X, so push Y. Some people might be really appreciative or feel like these guys are "looking out for you," so maybe I'm just cynical and have trust issues. It feels like the dentist where you can't disagree with them because you're not an expert, but you also suspect they're yanking you around because they know you're not an expert and no one wants a broken down car or rotten teeth. You feel me? At any rate, now that I've moved, I've found a place closer for my routine maintenance needs and I won't have to wonder anymore, but this review is here for you to decide for yourself. He said it was impossible that I just had an oil change and gave me a soda bottle worth of oil for a sample. Also I'm still driving the same vehicle with the same motor. Apparently I had a cracked radiator that needed replaced. I repeat, I agreed to an oil change. They measured the tread and stated that all 4 tires were legal, but that they recommended 2 of them were getting a little worn (6/32 & 8/32 tread depth) and should be replaced soon. Honesty, so refreshing! I bought 2 new tires, and had them mount one of the worn ones on a spare rim so I'd have a full sized spare. I'll definitely do business at the EAGAN Tires Plus again. But never never never trust the Coon Rapids Tires Plus, they are rip off artists.
