After some back and forth the made it right. Fast forward a few years I decided to trust pep boys again and go to the yucaipa store for my son's vintage car. We had work done on the sending unit on our gas tank. We got the car back and went to gas up and gas is pouring out from under the car. Took it back immediately and dealt with Kenneth the store manager and he was very argumentative about the whole situation. I was concerned because this is the second time pep boys sent me home with an unsafe car. After arguing with us the did repair the leak. The newest experience is when my son's spare is leaking. We took it in and they gave him a hard time about it. He was mad and reminded them of the previous issues we have had and how Kenneth was responsible for letting unsafe work leave his shop. We had to go back the next morning and we talked with Kenneth. After some arguing he took our tire in back to see what's up, he calls us into the service area. Shows us a leak at the bead and says it is our fault the tire is leaking. I stated it was shoddy repair work and the tech did not clean the rim and seal the bead properly. He had an attitude said he could fix it but won't because we got pissed off. Gets in my face makes threats about if I were to touch him he waste me or something like that. Proceeds to cuss at me. I have been taking my car to Dinosaur Tires for years. Mostly for oil changes and tires. I have…read morealways had a positive experience. Never had issues with my oil changes or tire replacements. The staff is always friendly and courteous. This year (2026) had an opportunity to use Dinosaur for a couple of issues with my vehicle besides oil change and tire. The first issue happened to be with my driver side window sticking and not rolling up properly and some wiring issues. Dinosaur diagnosed my car with some of the hoses and wiring chewed by rats or mice (Subaru uses a soy based wire installation that rats love. This issue I believe was repaired. They had to order a part from Subaru for the window, so I was told, and I paid for that repair at a total of $600. However, no more than 3 weeks later, my driver side window was doing exactly what it was before where it would stick but eventually roll up. I should have taken it back then, and had them redo the work. I got busy and time went buy. A couple months later, I then needed my regular oil change and my AC was not getting as cool as it use to. No noises, no other issues just not getting as cool as it use to. So I took it in to Dinosaur for the oil change and to diagnose the AC problem. They asked me to leave the car for two days. When the called me on the second day, they told me the oil change was done but to fix the AC, the car needed a new Serpentine Belt and Serpentine Tensioner at a cost of service and parts of $600. I asked them how these parts were causing the problem and how it would remedy the AC problem? However the mechanic who worked on my car was not there on Saturday, so they could not give me the reasons until Monday when the mechanic was there. I was not able to afford the $600 repair that month anyway, so I mentioned I would have to have the AC fixed later next month. So I picked up my car, they changed the oil and also replaced the cabin filter. Once I got in my car to drive home, the AC was working perfectly. I am not sure what they did, but I almost paid an additional $600 to Dinosaur for something they said I needed but did not. I further verified this with my nephew who is a certified auto mechanic for Porsche. He told me that the Serpentine Belt and Serpentine Tensioner would have nothing to do with the coldness of the AC. He stated if I was having problems with those parts, I certainly would have heard something in my car and my car was making no noise. As kind and courtesy as everyone is at Dinosaur tires, I will not be taking my car back to them knowing they almost charged me $600 for a repair I did not need. And now I wonder if they actually even ordered a part from Subaru for my window since it still isn't working properly after that $600 repair. So the moral of this story is I will be finding a new car mechanic. As far as tires and oil changes? Dinosaur may be fine (though they charged me $200 for my oil change) But if you need more advanced work on your vehicle, I would not recommend them. Sorry Dinosaur.

I needed my serpentine belt replaced, and I also had a screw with a broken head that needed to be removed and replaced. While I was there, I asked if they could take a look at my tire because I was hearing a noise. Turns out, it was a wheel bearing. He even went out of his way to send me a picture of the damaged part so I could see exactly what was wrong.
