Treasures untold. Stopped in here after lunch with coworkers and oh the gems we found. They needed a few carefully curated art pieces to re decorate a common space in the office. We uncovered some amazing finds - a painting depicting a character we lovingly call "Business Cat", a handmade embroidered photo titled "Team Ben + Amy" plus an autographed framed photo of Vin Diesel himself. Each were a steal at under $6.99. Even the cashier herself couldn't believe what we had uncovered ("I can't believe someone gave that away!" She proclaimed at the sight of Vinny). #pandemicreview Been doing a lot of spring cleaning and really glad they are open again to give these things a second chance at being useful for someone else. They only take donations at the back of the store in the parking lot area. No more drop-off bins just near the store entrances anymore. They have a series of marked off parking spots in the green colour where you can park and then place your items into the big bins on wheels. You could alternatively roll a bin yourself over to your car to unload if the line is long. To practice good physical distancing, staff aren't allowed to help you unload the items in your car which makes sense so bring some muscle if you got some heavy items. read more

They have a good selection of clothing but be careful because THEY HAVE A COCKROACH INFESTATION! When I alerted the staff that there was a large roach walking all over the Interac machine of the cashier at the rear of the store they weren't even bothered or acted shocked and in fact the guy at the cash of the Queen street store entrance admitted their back room is completely overrun by roaches but was nice enough to offer me and my son some hand sanitizer. So if you buy anything from there, very important to DISINFECT AND STEAM CLEAN EVERYTHING!.. I'm gonna try a different location. Never thought the Leslieville location would have this issue! read more

I will completely rewrite the review because I have been having great luck here in the last year or so, I will not say what finds but they have been really good for my purposes! right now it's one of the best vv's I have been in the gta. they even have repainted the interior white instead of the tired yellow which refreshed it quite a bit! not a find on every visit but there has been more than enough good finds, thanks to the great donors!!! staff has been nice as well. 3.5/5 read more

This is probably the dirtiest value village I have been to and generally very busy! It is also pretty small and can make one feel very stuffy. Everytime I go here I am not able to find anything I really love or cool and that's probably because of the resellers that come here everyday in the morning and grab all the good pieces. Today I visited and was browsing through the jeans and to my dismay I found blood inside of one of the jeans and a few holes and yellow stains in a few the others!!!! Do they not do a quality check here!?!?! It is absolutely gross and unacceptable. I don't think I will return anytime to this location and if I do it will only be to check on houseware items. read more

I used to be a big fan of Value Village and used to visit the store often and had some great finds there... but in the last years I've been getting more and more disappointed. the biggest complaint are the prices. it is supposed to be a thrift store but some time ago, the pricing policy changed drastically. up to about 4-5 years ago I was able to find some really great pieces of clothing, unique, interesting, in a decent condition (not overly or only slightly used) and reasonably prices. These days, anytime I go, most of the stuff are really worn out items from megastores priced exorbitantly high. Why would I buy a faded and stretched top from H&M or forever21 for $8.99, if I can get it for the same price at any mall, plus I can actually choose size and colour? the jewellery prices went up too, some pieces are priced as if it was Winners. I suppose the owners decided they wanna make a better profit? I suppose somebody with lots of time on their hands, devoted to browsing for hours and in multiple location is able to still find something interesting if they are willing to spend more. I don't really go that much anymore, as every visit reinforces the above observations. I wish the store pricing standards were more reasonable, and also pieces from cheap stores (like H&M or Forever21) that are not really made to last, were only sold at a heavy discount from a bin. also, so many items on hangers are so damaged and stained that one cannot really imagine anybody in their right mind to purchase them. they should be selected for industrial recycling and not for sale. I do applaud the idea of second hand stores but I think that under current conditions (high prices plus low quality of many items) places like Value Village rather discourage reuse of clothing than promote it. read more

I find it to be very hit or miss. The selection is not the best I have seen at a Value Village. It is also VERY over crowded and hard to navigate. I find it pretty stressful so I try only go at an off time. I am not sure if it is just me, but I find the prices to be quite high compared to other Value Village's. I do enjoy thrifting and go around quite a bit, and sometimes the prices are surprising. I normally end up buying home items because the prices are more reasonable there. That being said, I have found some great items. I found brand new Zara men's pants for $25 (retails for $50-$60). I just find most times the cons outweigh the pros, and I normally go to other locations. read more

Hi I wish I could give them a zero I really would like to express my disappointment and discusst with the staff at this location. Found a coat for my son with no tag as I approached the check out with a a full cart and asked for a price the cashier rudely took said coat and throw it in a bin telling me they don't price at the store proceeded to laugh and tell me " its funny right". Now I've been to a few other value villages and they still utilize a computer to price check in these instances. When I told her this another employee a door greeter piped in and told me to go shop there then . Value Village is a reliable source of kitsch, bric-a-brac, used clothing and craft supplies. It's better organized than you might think, and when I was scouring the racks for an orange polo shirt (I was a douche-o-lantern for Halloween) it was a pretty effortless experience. Everything is sorted by size and colour. More recently I visited this location for Christmas accessories. I asked some staff members for help and they were very accomodating and helpful. It can sometimes be hard to flag someone down, but the cashiers are usually all-too-willing to help. For those donating goods, you can do so at the back entrance during opening hours. It's not a bad idea to call ahead to make sure what you have is a worthwhile donation. Obligatory Title Pun: It takes a VILLAGE. Menu Readability: Bweah? I'm a fan of Value Village in general. This one looks pretty small from the street, but goes really far back when you're inside. Everything is organized well too. My recent visit was purely unplanned and i ended up buying some awesome french onion soup bowls for $3. The really cool old brown kind from the 70's/80's. There are few Value Villages in Toronto that aren't picked over completely, but the one by Queen and Carlaw is usually a good bet for some hidden gems. They have a large selection of kids stuff and accessories as well, bigger than most. It's right on the street car line and they don't completely over price everything although they are wise to the labels. Ralph Lauren will always be more expensive than a generic brand, even if it's not in the best condition, but the staff are super nice and informative (like they know where to direct you rather than being all glazed over) and I've never gone in without finding something that was worth making the trek for. read more

Oh, also, you might start developing respiratory tract irritations. I like this location better than the Lansdowne one for its selection and prices. The store is very congested though, so you may want to opt for the other location if you have a severe case of claustrophobia. But if you are a digger, you shall be rewarded with a great selection of old grandpa sweaters and LMFAO-looking metallic waistcoats. Yeah... we knew it was time to book it out of there when I became convinced that the purple metallic coat was a real statement piece on my girlfriend. Walked away with a huge santa-claus bag full of stuff for the cost of lunch money! Hipster win. read more

Mark this as like...three and a half. I love the fact that a Value Village actually exists within walking distance from me. Really, this is like a once a week thrifting thing for me. That alone gets it to three stars (I'm won over easily, what can I say). And I've actually found some great stuff! (Add half a star) However, it's sorta small compared to the other ones I've been to. Which, don't get me wrong - is totally reasonable considering the location. Also, the place gets picked over like crazy on the weekends and the home section is sparse, to say the least. Although I love value village, and this one is good I would say that this particular location is not my favorite, it has some decent shirts and suit jackets but completely skimps out on the coats, pants and anything else for men., it is still worth a check but the value village at woodbine and on bloor west are much bigger with better selection. read more

value village is the new york city of used clothes stores. as you tread through the aisles, its hard not to marvel at the the fabric jungle that flanks you on either side in two story crests. while at quick glance, because of its overwhelming presence, the racks may seem a bit riotous, but they are, indeed, organized by colour and style of cut. i dont think ive encountered any other used/vintage store with more stock than vv. they not only have lots of stuff, but they have the potential to have some great finds. i personally have donated a few garbage bags filled with some nice clothes that i stopped wearing. in addition to clothes youll find necessary items like cups, plates, furniture and so on. really, youll find just about anything you might use in your home and you should be prepared to spend some time there to really get the gold. its great fun to be riding the wave of upcoming fashions, but when you want not to make those unnecessary expenditures, you can come here and do a little bit of got'm, got'm, need'm, got'm, not break the bank and still be gorgeous looker that you are. read more

The east side Value Village is the best in Toronto. I suspect the proximity to the fancy Beaches neighborhood has something to do with it! In comparison to their Landsdowne location on Bloor, the prices at 924 Queen are a lot more reasonable and the selection is greater because you're not competing with every other vintage hipster shopper in downtown Toronto. Although it is a wee bit harder to get to, the travel is worth it for the finds and deals. read more

Value Village is NOT a charity or non-profit as classified in Yelp. Value Village is a for-profit company owned by Savers, which is a Walmart company. It is important that this is made clear because many people shop here thinking that they are supporting charities and community causes. Considering ALL of their merchandise is donated to them (often with the misconception that it is a charity) their prices are laughable. I do occasionally shop here because I am concerned about diverting waste and not contributing to unnecessary use of resources. The for-profit structure should be made clear to customers so they can make informed decisions about shopping here. read more

Positive: Going through this Value Village is quick. The smaller location makes a quick browse - great for those just looking to drop in for look. This location is also quite organized and clean. I LOVE their blazer section for women - I always find fun pieces! Negative: This Value Village is smaller than other locations in Toronto. It is also in a neighbourhood where I find things can get picked over quite quickly! It is not my favourite Value Village location in Toronto, but with that said, I have found some great find here! It is definitely worth a visit. Their purse and jewelry section is not as robust as other Value Village's. Overall, it is on my rotation of thrift stores I visit, but not my fave! read more

Fantastic shop. I can't begin to count how many work clothes, handbags and apartment utensils I've got here over the past year and a half. I've found some serious bargains here - I've been stopped in the Eaton Centre wearing a pair of tailored office trousers by a woman demanding to know where I found such a lovely pair! She couldn't believe I got them in Value Village for 12.99! I've found a stunning leather handbag, great quality, attractive snowboots, as well as gorgeous jewellery and fun things like board games and tennis rackets here . I furnished my entire kitchen with utensils and equipment from this location. This place is also a godsend now that I'm leaving Toronto. I must have made ten runs up here over the last week with bags full of clothes and random household items that I no longer want. It feels good giving back to a charity shop, and even better knowing that there's a free and convenient way for me to dispose of the huge number of items I no longer need. I find it a bit weird that they sell certain items.. I'm all for used designer work clothes, used books and even used shoes and kitchen items don't bother me. But selling used gym clothes and pjs, underwear and intimidate apparel is a bit weird for me and I'm not sure why VV accept these items? Who wants second hand sweaty yoga pants?! To each their own... Anyway, a fantastic chain and this location is particularly good. Definitely one of the many Canadian chains I will miss on a day-to-day basis when I leave the country. read more

The three stars I am giving to the people who work at this value village and to the aweaome donners who donate amazing stuff to thrift stores in general. This place is much smaller than most value village stores in Toronto, but don't let the size fool you. You can find some great things to add to your home. Due to the size, the ilses are a bit tight and it can be hectic during the weekend or on sales day when its especially busy, but the staff who are worked to death and get paid min wage keep this place going and managable. I've gotten to know a few of the workers here and they are amazing people. It seems like the owners of value village are no longer concerned about providing affordable good quality second hand items to people who would otherwise not afford them firsthand.BUT are more concerned in making profit!! They cut hours but still expect the same amount of prodactivity. This place has become unbarable for the staff and I can tell that they are no longer as happy as they were. Yes I like a good bargain, and this place does have a lot to offer, but I am also not happy to hear that value village is not taking care of their own community of workers, its you don't need to speak English much to work here, but does that mean they should be treated as some factory worker(even they get more hours and get paid somewhat ok) whose job is to just produce(things that are donated by people who hope to help the community by providing jobs and affordable good quality second hand items) and make a huge profit for a company that no longer cares???....please look around when donating, bacause value village is not what it used to be 15yrs ago(when I discovered it)...they have become MONEY HUNGRY. read more

This certainly doesn't look like a place where anyone would want to put a Value Village; the lot is a relatively small one wedged into the middle of a block in Leslieville. And yes, it is pretty tight: the racks of clothing are stacked vertically in much of the store, and the aisles are not very wide. I also haven't found it to be as clean as other VV stores. That said, if you find a quiet moment to go in, it's well worth a look. read more

I've been here a few times & have always found something great. It's a smaller location so it can feel crammed at times. Service/store cleanliness is typical for value villages. This Value is actually kept really organized and has quite wonderful staff (I live around the corner so I'm there a lot). I always seem to be able to find at least one thing that I love when I'm there. My one negative comment would have to be about the change rooms, they're quite small and could solve their line problem easily if they added a few more. read more

I just had a rather disturbing experience at the V V location at 924 Queen St.. Toronto. I was shopping in the store with a friend.Saturday 20/2018 the store is crowded..and we were in the childrens section where the isles are narrow and my friend had a shopping cart full of new born childrens clothing for a future grandchild. Where the store security wanted to pass by and was incrediibly rude and agressive towards us and in a very unpolite manner told us to move so he could pass by. As I pointed out the isles are narrow with two adults and a shopping cart "full" of baby clothes there was no wear to move..where I made a comment that could he not go to the next isle to pass by ?? His response was I need to check all isles and that was his job to secure the store. Oh did I mention that while he was being rude and abrassive he's chatting on his cell phone !? Great security !? I then started to make a joke with my friend where the security guard then approached me and said I better watch myself !? Oh really I replied what was he going to do ..I asked ? The security gaurd then made a effeminate gesture as to me being gay by mocking my mannerisms!? The security gaurd is employed by GardaWorld Corporation is a Canadian private security firm, based in Montreal, Quebec, which is thenhired by Value Village. I will never ever shop at V V again and I hope I can persuade anyone who is "gay" or otherwise..and supports the Gay community not shop at any V V store ever again...I also must say that it won't bew difficult because their prices are just getting a bit out of countrol for a thrift store..I can by a brand new mens shirt at any retail store for the same price if not cheaper...15$ for a used shirt really ??? I can get a brand new shirt..at American Apparel or Old Navy for the same price if not cheapper....Please join me in boycotting the store..I thank you for your support !!! read more

Dirty and expensive. A regular no name spring jacket with stains 30 bucks....seriously?? That is just one example of how expensive this store has become. Was looking a pair of sneaker with holes in the soles....25 dollars. This place used to be great for bargains but not anymore. Don't waste your time. I used to donate a lot to the organization because I believed that it was helping people who could not shop at a regular retail store. Now they have gone too far with over pricing. Ok enough already!!.. I'm really getting annoyed with the 2 guys that hang around the back section on the store. They are like vultures waiting for their pray. They take the best stuff and have gotten overly friendly with the staff so they can beat the other shoppers to the new items coming out. They look for silver and gold and who knows what else. They probably have a business. This is completely unfair to other shoppers. I am very upset that management is allowing this practice. It happens all the time. Time to make it fair and even for all customers. Not just for a certain 2 vultures at this location. I even saw the older guy of the 2 telling someone not to look or touch anything in the donation bin. Who the hell does he think he is? He doesn't work there so mind your own business. Maybe he's afraid he won't get the best stuff. I will be complaining to Value Village head office about this. Moving forward, if you want to have a fair shot at some great items coming out then put in your own complaint to the store manager about this unfair practice. i have reviewed this place twice and someone has removed them so i am posting a new one.every time i go in to this location there is always the same dealer hanging around.h acts like he runs the place,giving orders to the staff.he is there first thing in the morning to check out the jewelery.some of the staff have stuff put aside for him before anyone else can see it.of course they are getting a cut.he is always by the warehouse door when they are bringing new stuff out and he pounces on the cart as soon as they come out.i have seen him checking out the bags of jewelery that on the display rack and open bags to take stuff out.that ends up in his pocket and he never pays for it.i rarely go back there now because it is embarrassing to see what this guy gets away with.i don't know why they let him get away with this,oh ya they are making money for them selves.this isn't the only store it happens at.value village should clean up there act or don't they have any shame read more
