I found a number of items and paid for them. I did not have my buggy with me and the store was closing and there was no time to go home and return with my buggy to put my purchases in. The clerk behind the counter said I could leave my bagged purchases with them there and she would put them in a safe spot and I could return another time with my buggy to retrieve my purchased goods. I asked her to write my name and phone number on the receipt before taping it to the bags. I later ran into the same clerk on the street and spoke with her about me coming to pick up my purchases and explained that it's been hard for me and I was still processing my dad's death and apologized for my delay in coming to get my purchases. She immediately said to me, and to another store employee who was with her at the time, that she remembered me. Although, she said, the store was taken over by the owner's nephew and my purchases were no longer at the store. I asked how that could be, because my name and phone number were taped onto the receipt placed on the bags that contained the goods I had purchased. I asked why no one had bothered to call me? I explained that when the store took my money and then also took my purchases then the store was essentially stealing from me, their customer. She had no answers for me. The other employee took my name and phone number and said she would give it to the nephew who took over the store and he would call me and reimburse me the money I paid. Fast forward many months later and no phone call, and no reimbursement. What kind of business steals from their customers? There's no integrity. I will not walk through their doors and will not spend my money at a business that is dishonest and unscrupulous.

I bought three dresses (wasn't sure about one of them) but was told you have a week to return it (with the receipt ) Ok , simple. Four days later I returned it, with the receipt, and I put it on a velvet hanger ( I had thrown out the bag) I had taken the price tag off but reattached it with a small gold pin. The manager said they can't take it back because the price tag was removed (never was it mentioned by the staff that the price tag being removed was an issue ) I said Can't you use that price tag gun to reattach it ? We don't own one. Then went on, and said dresses with no tags are donated not resold They are priced at the factory. I asked what happens when someone trying on the Dress accidentally removes the tag in the dressing room? Pause. . She looks at my tag, types in the computer, walks to a rack of clothes and says your tag is for THIS Dress, not the dress you brought in. I said, So you mis tagged my dress? Did I pay more for my dress then? Pause. She looks at the tag again and said, you bought 3 dresses, I'm afraid you brought the wrong tag in. The printing on the tags are tiny (so to be cautious) I brought all three tags in, just in case. I Showed her all three tags at once. Silence. I'm with my daughter, who found a dress she liked (it was supposed to be a fun day with her) At this point, the manager (I asked) was fuming. I said, Look, I just want to make a Simple exchange. She huffed, FINE! Never ever again!!! My daughter, was in shock at the treatment. We will never shop there again. This manager was worst I've ever met. I don't know how she got to be the manager, but she is a very poor choice. I have reached out to the head office as well. Normally I'm speechless and let things go. not today. The pricing here leaves me kinda iffy about wanting to shop here sometimes. They keep bringing up prices so sometimes, things aren't even a good deal anymore. It's suppose to be for non-for-profit and environmentally friendly to thrift. Yes, they are pricey (but in my humble American experience there is quite a mark up on *all* clothes in Canada vs the States - like a cheap tank top at H&M will be $5 more automatically in Canada - the exchange rate right now more than makes up for it) but a lot of the items aren't much - if any - cheaper online. I also just love supporting places like this, since there are so few left, and since a lot of "goth" brands run small I prefer to try a lot of the stuff on in person. The girl working and I had a good chat about the history/future of Lip Service in particular and some other stuff. She was super helpful and friendly which was also a change from a lot of alt shops, where the employees seem to spend their time perfecting that "I'm way too fucking cool to talk to you" vibe that makes me eye roll. I wanted *all* the things but settled on two LS dresses, one of which was shiny PVC and fulfilled all of 15 year old me's dreams. Definitely a spot to check out for a pricier but quality "statement piece" or to comb the shoe and clothing sales racks.
