Check out the local handmade masks for $15. In Toronto you have to wear a mask in indoor spaces now so if you need one for when you go to buy food these ones are cotton, machine washable and made by Raygun Designs. Super nice staff and I am so glad they have reopened. You know I love all things retro and this store has fantastic items for sale. Tons of character!

This store sits on Queen St and just near the hip area of Ossington. Unlike the Ossington spots, Garb's store has the large windows that lets in a lot of natural light. When you first walk into the store, you don't think stereotypical 'consignment'. For starters, lots of items are in well thought out displays, everything is clean and pristine (more on this later), and Dan (the owner) is careful to choose which items he'd feel be sold and not sit on the shelves. Another thing about the store... it's well organized. So you don't feel like you're in a musty and cluttered place... instead everything is organized just to size and by type. Nice and easy to find that special or interesting piece. Working and talking to him was easy... he's very genuine and not once did he give me the look of "why did you buy this" haha... though to be fair, I had tags still on a lot of the items I brought in. I just hang on to things I should let go! He was very fair to price the items and made the whole service a breeze to go through. I do like how he has everything online so if you ever want to check if your item sold... all it takes is to log into your online account and voila! Easy to find. Other places require days for them to catalog and then you have to call in every time you're curious. Nahhhh not here. About the brands they carry... it's definitely premium and often you will find items with a tag on it. Nothing sits for more than 90 days here... for a buyer, it's great as you can items become discounted and find those amazing deals. With consignment, if you want tooo long, someone else can snatch it. Another great thing about Garb is the quality of the items... its all in good shape and if it's a bit dirty, he does ask the consignee to wash or dry clean before bringing it back! As a person who may buy from here, I really appreciate that. Overall, it's one of the better managed and better services I've been given from a consignment store. Here's hoping my items sell!

*** PLEASE READ IN FULL - WARNING TO CONSIGNORS ***…read more If you are considering consigning items, just be mindful to exercise due diligence, especially with Eva, the owner. I do not want others to experience what happened to me. Back in January 2016, I brought in a Furla bag, some Coach bags, a lot of pairs of designer jeans (many were brand new with tags), a new pair of Brian Atwood boots and a gorgeous, new Laundry by Shelli Segal black leather motorcycle jacket that was buttery soft. The bags sold quickly but the other items lingered around for a while. Eva told me just to keep everything there because they were high-end items and would eventually sell. Some of the jeans were listed on average $85.00 a pair but, contrary to the agreement, my cut ended up only being about $12.00 a pair. When I inquired, I was told that the jeans in question were put on clearance. Regardless, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and continued to leave my items there. In early October, I emailed Eva to advise that I no longer wanted my boots and leather jacket available for sale; however, there was no response. Three days later, I received notification that she sold my boots for $18.00. Again, I gave her the benefit of the doubt but decided to send her another email requesting again that she refrain from selling my leather jacket - no answer. Then I called and Eva's daughter answered but could not get me off the phone fast enough as she claimed the store was so busy. I told her I was on my way to pick up my leather jacket but she reluctantly agreed, saying that it normally takes 48 hour for her to pull it. Anyway, my two friends and I went straight over and we noticed Eva's daughter could not make eye contact with me. Instead, she went down to the basement for about three minutes and then advised that, because the jacket had been there since January, they donated it to charity and, apparently, that was part of the "agreement." I was upset but I figured if I did not thoroughly read the agreement then I was obviously at fault. My friends and I continued to look around the store and noticed almost all my jeans were still upstairs. When we went to the basement, we noticed a few more pairs and then became suspicious. Why would my leather jacket be donated to charity and not the jeans? I called Eva a few days later expressing my concerns. She too could not get me off the phone fast enough. Later that night, she called me back to advise that the jacket was stolen and, because she (not me) was at a loss, would only reimburse me $33.00; albeit, the jacket was listed for $298.00. She said she put the jacket down in the basement in clearance for 75% off and still took a cut for my item being stolen. In addition, I have never seen any new with tags leather jackets down in the basement! A few days later, I was notified that I only got $4.00 for a pair of my brand new with tags 7 for All Mankind jeans. I immediately called to have the account closed and arranged to pick up my stuff. When I arrived, one of the sales women (who was quite genuine) could not find it. I called Eva a few days later and, rather than take responsibility for everything that went wrong, she put blame on her staff. Nice. What upsets me the most is that I referred friends to Eva and initially spoke very highly of her. The fact that she chose greed over maintaining a good relationship is disgusting. The bottom line is that although I have no proof that she was involved in the theft of my jacket and was selling items under the guise of them being discounted to rock-bottom prices, isn't the writing on the wall? I would not be surprised if her store was eventually featured on Pat Foran's segment on CTV News.

A huge plus is that the inventory is constantly changing and on trend with the latest fashions. All of the beautiful things in my closet are from this store. I love this store! I cannot recommend it enough. I am telling all my friends. Its simply a must before making the trek to crowded department stores. The owner Eva White is so friendly and takes time to help you. She has a keen eye for fashion. The atmosphere is relaxed, and I always walk out with something that I "just can't live without"

Came across this vintage store as part of the recent "Queen of Hearts" (WQW BIA) event. It's easy…read moreto miss, as it's upstairs. It's just across from CAMH and west of MOCCA. The sign says "hand-picked vintage" and it's a good description. The space is quite small (looks like a converted apartment, with 2 small rooms and a hallway) and the selection is not as vast as some of the bigger vintage shops. However, each piece is carefully chosen (hence the name). The owner is really friendly and as my shopping partner and I perused the racks, she gave us back-stories for many of the pieces that caught our eyes. She also has altered some of the items to make them more wearable circa now. Compared to other vintage stores, there were some really kooky/costumey pieces here, include a gold lamé jumpsuit ("I had to take that one... it has stirrups!!") and a gothic, Addams-Family-esque black velvet dress with white lace detailing. This would be a fantastic place to find the perfect Halloween costume. It's also a great place to re-live the 90's. As I was browsing, I found myself repeatedly saying to my friend - "omg, remember these?!?" Like those cutout shoulder dresses. Other finds include leopard printed faux-fur coats and beat-up vintage leather jackets for men. There's a sale rack (currently 50% off some winter merchandise) and a $10 accessories section at the back. Definitely worth a look!

Even the change room curtain looks like outer space. It's a small and cozy shop that's never too busy. I almost didn't want to write this review because it's one of the city's best kept vintage secrets. The clothes: Whereas a lot of vintage shops in the city have a huge variety of clothing from all kinds of different eras, Chosen features a well-curated selection of clothes that appeal to anyone with a lust for the 90s (ie. me) and girls who want to be a bit more badass and a bit less girly. But this doesn't mean they don't have girly t't to Chosen and you can find sexy little lace slips, James Dean-esque leather jackets, and combat boots for dancing all night. The staff: No complaints here. The owner and the one other girl I've met are both super friendly, helpful and full of interesting tidbits about the pieces. Best finds: I bought the most comfortable/warm/amazing winter boots here that I will keep forever and always.
