I got so many compliments on dresses I bought from that store, whether I wore their stuff socially or at work. Actually it kind of made me feel like I was one of those glamorous women in Mad Men. I'll always have a soft spot for this place - highly recommend if you're into vintage, pretty dresses. Most of that part of Queen Street has great vintage finds.

There were more adorable earrings, purses, and clothes than I could fathom. My friend and I wandered the store for nearly an hour alternately exclaiming, "cute!" with mouth agape or chatting up the staff. As Erin H mentions, each showcased artist/designer works onsite once a week. The only downside to this is if inquiring minds have questions about something other than the artist du jour personally made, there won't be any answers. And as a person with some hard core metal allergies, I won't buy jewelry unless I am certain that it doesn't contain anything that will make my earlobes swell. However, I was lucky to encounter the artist who crafted the earrings that fell in love with and so, got to take them home with me (and support the local arts). Plus, I was able to be a helper that day (I love being of assistance). As the resident artist handed me a credit card receipt, I was able to pass along this little tip: legal colors only please! I passed on the pink pen handed to me and instead signed with a my own, handy blue plume. For, although I wasn't planning on contesting the charges, anyone could attempt to do so and without either a customer's blue or black ink signature on file, the store might end up "out" some fundage.

This location is less cluttered to the Yonge/Dundas location and I think it easier to find what you are looking at.

It's about 8 minutes away from the original location and comes with hassle free parking. I went there today for the first time since they moved and boy was it worth it! The studio/shop is lovely and shopping was fun and hassle free and unpressured. I had a better sense of how stylish the clothes are. I had a mandate in mind. I'm doing a lot of travelling and I wanted to put together a wardrobe that was easily interchangeable and fun to wear and that would easily fit into a carry on suitcase. I came to find Miik clothing & bought two of their Emily Cardigans & a dress. Julie is the store owner & she was there the day I came in. She was so helpful & I loved her positive & friendly attitude. The decor of the store is nice too. There are natural wood logs acting as posts for the clothing racks. It's a nice, light, airy feeling in the store. There are two change rooms at the back & a mirror nearby so you can check out how things fit on you. Will definitely be back in the store in the future!

The sign says "hand-picked vintage" and it's a good description. The space is quite small (looks like a converted apartment, with 2 small rooms and a hallway) and the selection is not as vast as some of the bigger vintage shops. However, each piece is carefully chosen (hence the name). The owner is really friendly and as my shopping partner and I perused the racks, she gave us back-stories for many of the pieces that caught our eyes. She also has altered some of the items to make them more wearable circa now. Compared to other vintage stores, there were some really kooky/costumey pieces here, include a gold lamé jumpsuit ("I had to take that one... it has stirrups!!") and a gothic, Addams-Family-esque black velvet dress with white lace detailing. This would be a fantastic place to find the perfect Halloween costume. It's also a great place to re-live the 90's. As I was browsing, I found myself repeatedly saying to my friend - "omg, remember these?!?" Like those cutout shoulder dresses. Other finds include leopard printed faux-fur coats and beat-up vintage leather jackets for men. There's a sale rack (currently 50% off some winter merchandise) and a $10 accessories section at the back. Definitely worth a look!

The clothes: Whereas a lot of vintage shops in the city have a huge variety of clothing from all kinds of different eras, Chosen features a well-curated selection of clothes that appeal to anyone with a lust for the 90s (ie. me) and girls who want to be a bit more badass and a bit less girly. But this doesn't mean they don't have girly t't to Chosen and you can find sexy little lace slips, James Dean-esque leather jackets, and combat boots for dancing all night. The staff: No complaints here. The owner and the one other girl I've met are both super friendly, helpful and full of interesting tidbits about the pieces. Best finds: I bought the most comfortable/warm/amazing winter boots here that I will keep forever and always.

Check out the local handmade masks for $15. In Toronto you have to wear a mask in indoor spaces now so if you need one for when you go to buy food these ones are cotton, machine washable and made by Raygun Designs. Super nice staff and I am so glad they have reopened. You know I love all things retro and this store has fantastic items for sale. Tons of character!

Key Features: Nice clothes, suits of armour on the wall…read more O.K. So that's the good thing - the clothing is great. It is. There is nothing wrong with it. When you walk in, you'll probably feel comfortable. There are suits of armour on the wall. It's fantastic. I'm not one for hip, and with it, clothing stores - but, I tell you, I kind of wanted to after walking into this location. Although, I'm not sure I'll ever understand the allure of a $60.00 trucker hat. Now, that's where the good ends. My story may not be typical. It hinges on two factors - I'm a big guy, and I don't like being lied to. If you're there to just pick something up off the shelves, then - by all means - get your gear, buy it, and love it. My tale begins as my friend's wedding approached. I was to be one of his Groom's men. I needed a vest. A lovely vest that can only be purchased at GotStyle. I didn't even mind the $150.00 price tag, because it was a beautiful vest. There was nothing not to love about it. My friend had left our sizes with the good people of GotStyle, and I called ahead, and said I'd be coming to check it out. The wedding was 4 weeks away. I took the bus down to the store, and when I got in, I told the girl I'd e-mailed that I was here for the vest. She smiled, nodded, and then kept me waiting 10 minutes while she chatted it up with some guy at the front who, apparently, shops there often. They talked about their clothing addictions. I appreciate that. You need to strive off of return customers when you sell $120.00 t-shirts. But, as a new - potential - customer, this was not ideal. As for the ten minutes - that's accurate. I time stamped the event. It was probably more like 11:37 but who's counting? The vest comes. Unfortunately it doesn't fit me. It's too small, by an inch. This is not ideal. A vest needs to be done up - especially for $150.00. I cried inside a little, but she said - "Don't worry! We can get a bigger one!" I was elated! I went home, and thought nothing of it. One week passes. I e-mail, wondering about the vest. Nothing. Two weeks pass. (The wedding is now 2 weeks away.) I am told that there is nothing they can do. They can not get a vest that will fit me. Now let me tell you something about tailors - tailors can make vests. Tailors can get them done, in a similar style. In fact I was quoted that I could get the same vest, cheaper, if I needed it by... TWO DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING. This was not ideal. The next week and a half of my life was spent in a frantic hell trying to find a matching vest, that I could wear, to not stand out. I tried 8 places, 2 countries, and discovered all number of places in Toronto. Had GotStyle been up front on the day I went in, none of this would have been an issue. I would have got a vest made from a different place, but they strung me along for 2 weeks saying it would be no problem, until the finally left me in a terrible place. And they knew when the wedding would be. Long story shorter, I ended up getting a similar (too small) vest at another store. The rain was pouring that day. I remember it well, as it was near the end of the vest-adventure. Three days to the wedding. The groom found some fabric that matched the vest. Two days to the wedding. The night before - THE NIGHT BEFORE the wedding, my girlfriend's mom was able to tear the vest apart, that was too small, sew in the fabric, and create a passable copy. It was a good adventure, when it finally ended in success - but it was terrible, stressful, and awful up until that moment. And all of it could have been avoided if I wasn't lied to by the staff at GotStyle. So - you make your own decisions. Maybe you fit, "off the rack," clothes, and have the money. If so - head there. If customer service is an issue for you? Maybe this isn't the place. This is just my story. It seems other people love it. And - remember - I, too, really wanted to love this place, as well.

Thus, I decided I'd make a heroic sacrifice for my fellow yelpers and go in and check it out. The owner Victoria was lovely and happy to chat with me and her store itself is well laid out with a pleasant atmosphere. There was a wide range of attractive clothing for sizes 14+ as well as jewelry and other accessories. I should note here that she's not currently stocking shoes but has pretty much everything else you need to kit yourself out. Also, while I was there I saw at least one happy customer make a number of fine purchases. Hopefully someone who has actually bought something here will come along and give their more experienced review however I was pretty impressed with Gussied Up - if you are a fuller figured lady I recommend coming in and checking it out!

Outstanding selection of great labels and the layout of the store is very organized. I found a beautiful green cashmere/silk shirt sleeve sweater by Marlowe (Italy) and a fabulous (reduced for quick sale) Lululemon jacket- excellent for running and plane travel. Excellent selection of gorgeous scarves and purses and jewelry. Definitely a "must" if you are looking for some beautiful clothes at great prices.
