We stumbled upon this vintage store, and I had to check it out. I love thrifting and shopping vintage, the clothing and products just has a unique flare that shopping centres don't. Right off the bat, the store was incredibly big. There's a wide selection of items, such as sunglasses, clothing, bikinis, books, magazines, jewelry, shoes, trinkets, and so much more! The offerings they had were unbelievable. There's only issue I found was that there weren't many sizes left that fit me, but it's expected. The workers were very kind, and asked if we needed any help and guidance for finding specific pieces and sizes. The prices were pretty average, some pieces were definitely on the higher end, but that's due to higher quality and value. Majority of pieces were at good price points, great for a shopping spree. They had this really cute TV screen photo op area, so of course we snagged a few pictures. Definitely suits the vintage vibe!

As you walk down the black and white staircase, music is pumping and there's an energy that seems to be sneaking out. Almost would feel like you've stumbled upon some hidden gem if it weren't for the fact the store is filled with people, who clearly make Black Market a go-to stop for shopping. After a brief pass through the store, my sense was that the selection is more or less what you would expect to find at a hip vintage store in a big city. There's a mix of old (once uncool, now cool), graphic tees, and some more out there costume/punk/fetish type selections. What I really appreciated was the juxtaposition of this store along side a space for a record shop and a barber shop in the back. Black Market is definitely the anchor, but having a couple other shops inside and sharing boundaries made the space that much better and interesting. So if you need some new (old) threads, records, or maybe a cut or shave, check out Black Market.

They have a good selection of jeans that look like they've never been worn and really nice jewelry. I found a bunch of jean styles that I loved and a really cool L.A.M.B. jacket but none of it fit well :( I did pick up a super cute black and white heart print blouse and a gold spikey bangle bracelet. The prices are very reasonable and the sales staff are friendly and helpful but don't hover which is great. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Having been in a lot of antique shops, this spot desperately needs an 'organiser', someone to help arrange the aisles, make sense of the stock. A lot of it gets lost, missed due to the clutter. A few people inside makes it difficult to navigate the very tight thin aisles. Looking forward to returning.

The owners have seemingly 'ransacked the universe' to put together a sweet collection of new, old and reworked items. It's one of my favourite places to gift shop and occasionally pick up things for myself. My boyfriend hasn't taken off his up-cycled plaid handkerchief scarf since I gifted it to him for x-mas. Most of the things sold at Ransack are made by local artisans but there's quite a few solid vintage finds(old posters, records and some furnishings) as well. Very happily there are no old fur coats or stuffed dead animals at all to ruin my vintage shopping experience or create that narsty smell you find at some vintage stores (I'm looking at you Kensington market). This store is strictly awesome. You really need to discover this place for yourself though. There are so many things to regardez-vous I find myself circling the shop several times taking it all in before I can decide what I can't leave without.
