It's one of the oldest pubs in the city! But now it's VINTAGE DEPOT. I was surprised with the great organization and selection at this store. I don't think I've been to either of the other Vintage Depot locations in the city but I hope they're as awesome as this one. Clothes are organized into categories/sections and then by SIZE and COLOUR. I've never seen a thrift store that does this. Bravo! TONS of shoes, including designer. TONS of vintage Adidas and other sportswear. TONS of purses, hats (new and used) and uniforms (military, factory, coveralls and professional onesies of all kinds). This would be a fabulous place to source costumes for Halloween, costume parties or theatre/film productions. Staff seemed to be mostly young and male, all were extremely helpful and friendly.

I expected that they would only have a limited selection of each. The store is well organized and clean, though it could feel cramped in places. The service was good. The store is not wheelchair accessible. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid and free neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-227

The selection leans heavily toward newer clothing and graphic T-shirts rather than classic vintage pieces. I'm not here often, but I tend to stop by after vet visits as it's in the same plaza. Obviously, it's a hit or miss like any other thrift store, but I've found some treasures! Due to the area, it's never really that busy and to give you an idea of what their donations are like, their customers are usually seniors. Since it's relatively low-traffic, store is very clean. The most "mess" that I've seen are overstocked racks, but that's about it. Prices aren't cheap-cheap, but I find them a bit more reasonable than VV which is pretty costly now. The fact that they don't charge tax sorta makes up for it. According to their PA announcement, "Everyday is Senior's Day", so which means some kinda discount...I'm not sure what that is, but if that applies to you, it might be worth checking out! P.S. Salvation Army DOESN'T charge tax which is a bonus! P.P.S. I almost didn't want to write a review for this place 'cause I don't want it ransacked. ;)

The sign says "hand-picked vintage" and it's a good description. The space is quite small (looks like a converted apartment, with 2 small rooms and a hallway) and the selection is not as vast as some of the bigger vintage shops. However, each piece is carefully chosen (hence the name). The owner is really friendly and as my shopping partner and I perused the racks, she gave us back-stories for many of the pieces that caught our eyes. She also has altered some of the items to make them more wearable circa now. Compared to other vintage stores, there were some really kooky/costumey pieces here, include a gold lamé jumpsuit ("I had to take that one... it has stirrups!!") and a gothic, Addams-Family-esque black velvet dress with white lace detailing. This would be a fantastic place to find the perfect Halloween costume. It's also a great place to re-live the 90's. As I was browsing, I found myself repeatedly saying to my friend - "omg, remember these?!?" Like those cutout shoulder dresses. Other finds include leopard printed faux-fur coats and beat-up vintage leather jackets for men. There's a sale rack (currently 50% off some winter merchandise) and a $10 accessories section at the back. Definitely worth a look!

The clothes: Whereas a lot of vintage shops in the city have a huge variety of clothing from all kinds of different eras, Chosen features a well-curated selection of clothes that appeal to anyone with a lust for the 90s (ie. me) and girls who want to be a bit more badass and a bit less girly. But this doesn't mean they don't have girly t't to Chosen and you can find sexy little lace slips, James Dean-esque leather jackets, and combat boots for dancing all night.
