The donations centre is on the left side of the building facing the main entrance. Hours and acceptable items to donate are displayed.

This review is for the donations centre. It's a new year. For some reason, I am in a decluttering phase. I have a ton of books that I have kept over the years and do not use. I love to read, but my home feels like a library these days, minus the borrowing part of the operation. I did a quick search online and found that Value Village accepts book donations. Perfect! I took roughly a dozen hardback books over on a Wednesday morning. The donation centre is located on the left side of the store when you face its main entrance. I parked and a staff member immediately came down to greet me. I had my books in a reusable bag. I asked whether I could get my bag back, as they take your goods into the store. He said yes. Sure enough, he took my books and brought back my bag. As an unexpected gesture, he gave me a coupon to buy stuff in the store at a discount, as well as a leaflet to fill out a survey. The survey also allows you to get a discount towards an in-store purchase. Although that's all great and would prompt me to buy something, I am decluttering and am not in purchasing mode for the time being. I came back to donate another batch of books on Saturday. It was steady. There were three cars during my brief two minutes there. I do have some more books. I am thankful that I can donate them and hope that others will love these books as much as I once did. (7)

I had my receipt and still had 7 days left to exchange

I have been a regular customer of Value village for over ten years and have donated many times to various stores. I have never made a formal complaint before but this experience at the Markham Road Value Village was absolutely ridiculous. I have never had any issues exchanging an item, I go to Value Villages around Ontario because I travel for work. I am extremely disappointed and almost embarrassed with my recent visit to the point where I don't think I will be going back. The manager- Mini- refused to exchange a nightgown- which was clearly a lace/satin nightgown (with a tag on it from Le Vie en rose) because it was "not pajamas"? The price tag was marked as pajamas, the receipt said it was pajamas. The manager told me I have to drive back to Whitby ( almost an hour away from my house ) to exchange this item because it would be on their cameras? why? I am still so confused why I was not allowed to exchange this item. It doesn't make any sense. It made me feel like I had done something wrong? I still had 7 days left out of the 14 days exchange window. The tag was still intact. Luckily this item only cost $5 but it is not the point of it. This nightgown doesn't fit. The change rooms are still closed. If I am not able to exchange an item after making a purchase at value village, I will not be making purchases at all. I will also be donating my items elsewhere from now on, why would I donate to a place that rips people off? Not happy at all. That manager should be let go because she makes decisions that loose customers.

There's nothing better than finding a bargain at a thrift store; it feels like a treasure hunt. Spilled some coffee on my white sweater before church and so I needed a replacement fast! VV comes to the rescue! I found a beautiful knitted sweater that looked and smelled just washed (alot of people wash the clothes that they are going to donate) but what I also found was a short sleeved knitted cardigan for $2.99 SCORE! Typical of most VVs that I've been to. I go here when I'm in the area or when they're having a sale.

They didn't take any of my clothes, guess it's not what's "in", which is okay. I go around here from time to time to spot some nice deals on clothes from Aritzia / Lulu. I noticed quite a lot of poorly used clothes on the rack and even with holes and rips. You really have to ensure the clothes are in good enough condition to your liking before purchasing. They do offer refund anyway just in case within 7 days, clearance items are final though so make the right decision. I have purchased a few great deals from here. I think it's a nice place to get second hand or even brand new items when you get lucky. So many lightly used but you just have to be patient and go through stuff, eventually you'll find nice ones. Quick tip on white clothes - check collar area and underarms to ensure no discolouration. Darker colour clothes - I don't know about you but I dislike deodorant / lotion marks when I pick it up from the rack. Just a random thought! I will continue coming here once in a while just to snatch some good deals especially when they have promos!

The parking lot was quite busy and a bit chaotic when I went. The donation area is on the south side and just to the right of the entrance. When dropping off items, the staff will ask if you want a 20% off coupon. The store is large with two main sections. Housewares, furniture, electronics, books, vinyl records, and CDs at the front. Then there is children's, men's, and women's clothing. Even further into the store, there is more women's clothing. Prices are very reasonable, and the items are generally in good condition. At the Kennedy store, the electronic section has power bars to test if the electronic items work. I didn't see it at this location. Glass display cases near the front have designer brand items like purses and high-heeled shoes.

The layout is easy to navigate, with clearly marked sections for clothing, housewares, books, and electronics. Inventory changes frequently, so it's worth checking back often. Ms. Zeta were courteous and helpful, though service can vary depending who is attending you at the store. Prices are generally fair, especially for clothing and small household items, though some customers might find certain items a bit overpriced compared to other thrift stores. I appreciated Zeta when I asked for a discount and she gave me a coupon that had a 20% discount for first time buyer. I was happy and appreciated her for this and it made my decision so much easier. Overall, Zeta should be recognized for her great customer service and for managing the sale appropriately making my decision to buy the two items easier with the discount. Robert N. Tip: Mall entrance 6 will get you to this Winners…read more It dawned on me after posting a handful of photos yesterday that I have never reviewed this Winners store. I have been here countless times over the past couple of decades. Yes, I will say that this store is at least twenty years old. I can't tell you why I've never posted a bunch of photos or reviewed this Winners. Better now than never! This Winners is on the second floor of CF Markville Mall. It's next door to Auric King, which used to be where the Pickle Barrel was for years. It's kind of weird to not see this eatery next door to Winners. Years ago, I would go shopping at Winners with a friend. Afterwards, we'd have dinner at the Pickle Barrel. It was always an enjoyable outing. The Winners remains huge and spacious. Why? Many moons ago, it was the second floor of Walmart. I was early for my eye appointment, so I spent some time at Winners before I headed over there. I spent most of my time in the beauty products section. Sadly, Winners doesn't seem to carry the gel nail strips that I like anymore. However, it did have the cutest plush croissant keychain. I looked at nail polish, lip gloss, eye shadow, and more. The beauty section was extensive and fun to browse. I headed briefly over to the winter coats section. There was lots of variety. i didn't need one, but it was nice to browse. The store was busy at around 4:30 pm. Many high school students were in this store, which made me smile. It was nice to see that there are still teens who like to hang out at a mall like I used to. I should stop by more often. This store is by mall entrance 6. It's where I like to park my car at the mall. There's lots of parking and there's a marked pedestrian crossing that I like. (464)
