Value car rental has good prices but their customer service sucks. I had booked a 8 passenger van online and I called to confirm it. I spoke to a Brad (manager) who confirmed I would be getting a Crysler Pacifica with a DVD player (which is very important since I am driving to Orlando Florida with 4 kids under 5 yrs old) he confirmed they were waiting for a new shipment of pacificas which would be coming in April 4th which is great since I would be leaving from April 10-17th. I really wanted the Pacificas since it seemed perfect for us and it fits 8 ppl just the right amount. He assured me if they didn't have any Pacifica available they would upgrade me to a Surburbon which fits 8 ppl is and is fine as long it has a DVD player for kids. Well now the day of the trip I receive a call at 9am from Brad saying there are no Pacificas nor any Surburbon. I was pissed and told him how can you do this to me on the day of. He apologized but it wasn't enough. He then said he could get me an upgrade to a Acura which fits 7 ppl and has DVD. I said Brad how is this an upgrade I need something that fits at least 8 ppl nothing less. He said ok I'll give you an upgrade to a 12 passenger van and knock off 1 day off price. I said great does it have DVD he then said yes they all do. I then said to him DEAL. Then he tells me well you have to wait until 4pm I said wow now I am losing 6 hours on the tripn since we were suppose to leave at 10am. I said ok fine. Well 4pm rolls up I'm on the way there and got another call from the company not sure who but it wasn't Brad because he already had left home. They told me I had to wait until 6pm. Smh I really got pissed since I was on the way there already. But I calmed down and said ok. I got there at 6pm and they were getting my paperwork ready in a rush since theu close at 7pm and last vehicle goes out at 6:30 when I decided to ask the employee assisting us does this van have a DVD and she said no. I flipped out. They got Brad on the phone and he denied telling me they all have DVD players in them and then he clicked on us (which is unprofessional). They called him back serveral times and he refused to answer. I told them I want to speak to the owner now. They said sorry she was on vacation and didn't want to be bothered. So now her vacation is more important then mine. I asked the employee so there aren't any vans that's fit 8 ppl that has a DVD player and she said yes but it fits 15 ppl. I said I'll take that that's fine. Thats the less i coild get since my reservation was Botched. She call another manager on phone and he said no those are all rented. I went to the back of the business where the vehicles are stored and counted (9) 15 passenger vans. I was lied to way too many times. Smh I will never rent from here again. They ruined our road trip. Moral of the story is my kids were all screaming in the back of the van. They wanted to watch PJ Masks. We have to stop more often during lur roadtrip so they would stop screaming which further delayed our vacation. VALUE CAR RENTAL SUCKSSSS!!!!!! read more

Used Value in the past and was a satisfied customer. However, today's experience left me searching for another van/car rental. I used my credit card to booked a 15 passenger van 6 weeks ago for a family trip to Georgia. Received a conformation call on Monday to confirm in which I confirmed my continued need for the van. Today, (6 weeks later) I received an email from Manny informing me that they were not going to honor my reservation. I called him to find out what happened. He basically confirmed that my booked reservation wasn't going to be honored because a company who rented "3" of their vans wasn't returning them in time. said "I can give you a number to another rental company, they fact that I made the reservation 6 weeks ago didn't matter, because this stuff happens all the time. Kerry on the other hand was very apologetic and sympathetic to the cancellation. I can understand over booking (which should not happen; especially when I was called just 2 days prior to confirm). This company deliberately lies on their website. They list a Newark location even though that location has been closed for over a year. I told an employee about the website and he said that ownership knows that the website is wrong but has not changed the site because it "drives business." I told him this is unethical and that the website should be changed and he said that the ownership would not change the website. Shame on them for deliberately lying. read more

I was very pleased with my recent experinece with Value Auto Rentals. I rented a car while visiting the area. The service representative who handled my check -out - Manny- was very pleasant and provided great customer service as he explained to me directions of various local destinations I had. While their customer service was decent, we rented a 15 passenger van for a 3-day trip to Boston. After bringing the van home with my daughter in it, my husband finds not one but 3 cockroaches, one was crawling inside the van into the crevices, he found one when he opened the back door of van and then found one crawling on the hood of the car (in addition we received a van that clearly looked like it was in a fender bender). We called and left a message and they were courteous enough to give us a new upgraded 15 passenger van, we drove off and went to pick up some family and upon arrival to their home and opening the doors, my husband killed an additional 3 roaches that were crawling on the outside of the van. According to cust service the roaches come from the outside where the vans are parked. We would buying roach spray once we arrived to our destination and let the van airout overnight at the hotel parking lot. I don't like critters and for this reason alone I wouldn't rent a van from them again. read more
