The way the sales people have ignored me every time I am here getting my car serviced makes me…read morethink I look like a vagrant, and I'm okay with that. I purchased my car in 2018 and have brought it here for service ever since. But the last 3-4 visits, I do the same thing, sit in the lobby for about an hour then walk around the lot looking at cars. I've been think about getting a new car for a while, but I haven't had a car note in years, so I'm reluctant. Not to mention, I rarely drive, so rare that I was thinking of just selling the car, then had to have someone bring me back to logic. Let me just say this, this review is in no way about the service dept. If I had an other issues I would go to Carson or Manhattan Beach, but I come here. Today's visit really annoyed me, I'm stilling in the lobby reading my book and a salesman named Anthony comes in and begins to speak about the 4th of July sale. I listen, because I can really be easily convinced to get a new car, but I notice that despite him having my full attention and us only being within feet of each other, he is not talking to me. He confirmed it, when he begin asking everyone in the room, individually, if they were interested in taking a look at the numbers on trading in a vehicle for a new one without any commitment. He didn't ask me or the guy behind him who could easily be confused as being asleep. I didn't speak up, because I could just as easily be swayed by characteristics to keep my money. What I did do was get up and walk the lot, like I normally do when I am here and I peaked at a few cars, while also speaking with my husband, because I needed someone who was going to tell me if I was over thinking the whole situation. Can you guess what happened next, as walked around circling the cars and taking an extra second to stare at the sticker... Nothing! No one approached me and asked if they can help. No one came out of the sales office, after watching me from the large glass windows I was looking at vehicles in front of. Nothing! So I walked back to the lobby to wait for my car and write this review. But then, I started wondering why I was even giving 3 stars and my husband called me back to ask if I saw anything I liked. I told him I didn't but they probably had the car on the used car side. So I got up and walked around the used car lot side and I did see two or three vehicles that I was interested in. These I took a few extra seconds to look at because I wanted to see the price, the year, the details, the warranty information. But again, no one came out. No one came to help me to ask if I was interested in anything or to see if I needed assistance. The only time I spoke to an employee at South Bay Toyota was each time I walked back to the service center where they offered me shuttle services or wanted to see if there's anything that they could assist me with. So I am giving three stars because I could easily walk to service department and ask them to get me a sales agent and I'm sure that person who comes to me would be all too enthusiastic about showing me what's available. It has happened before and that's why I know exactly what vehicle I want next.

HER Honda lease is also coming to an end, so she was considering getting a new vehicle from Scott Honda at the same time. Unfortunately, the experience was very uncomfortable. We felt pressured to make a purchase, and the attitude from some of the staff changed noticeably when we did not agree with the numbers and pricing they presented to us. The situation became even more disappointing when the finance manager made sarcastic remarks towards her . The salesperson also expressed frustration and said that they had spent several hours with us "for nothing." I understand that buying a car takes time, and I respect the salesperson's time. However, customers also have the right to ask questions, compare numbers, and take their time before making a major financial decision. Not agreeing to a price does not mean that a customer is wasting anyone's time. In my opinion, good customer service should be about helping customers make an informed decision, not making them feel pressured or uncomfortable because they choose not to accept the deal. She has been a Honda customer for many years and has purchased multiple Honda vehicles in the past, including two from Honda of Gardena and two from Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Cerritos. You can verify her purchase history. After this experience, I don't believe I will be returning to Scott Honda Hawthorne or recommending this dealership to others. It was disappointing to be treated this way after she was recommending it to me as a loyal Honda customer for so many years.

From my very first internet inquiry, Adrian was responsive, professional, and never came across as the typical pushy salesperson. He took the time to answer all of my questions honestly and worked with me to negotiate a price on my new Grand Highlander Nightshade that I felt was fair and fit my budget. One thing that really stood out was Adrian's communication. He stayed in constant contact, always responded quickly, and kept me informed every step of the way. I live in San Diego and wasn't able to pick up the vehicle for two days because of work. Adrian worked with me to lock in the deal and made sure the dealership held the vehicle until Saturday so I wouldn't miss out. That level of customer service meant a lot. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, Adrian happened to be off that day, but he had already arranged for Stefan to take care of me. Stefan was outstanding as well. He welcomed me, made the process easy, and immediately made me feel like I was in good hands. It was clear that Adrian had communicated everything to him, and the transition was seamless. Thank you so much for being very responsive to my questions and transparent with pricing! I am very happy with the service you provided and I would be happy to recommend you to anyone I know who is looking to buy a car in the future. Kenia is one of the Internet Managers at the Manhattan Beach Toyota dealership and I was mainly communicating with her through text messages. I found her through an affiliate website. Right away she was very responsive in answering me. No BS, no games. She told me the car I wanted was out of stock but she would let me know when it was available. It took a few weeks but she helped me find the car that I was looking for instead of just trying to sell me one that was currently available on their lot. When I came in for a test drive she did not rush me. I felt no pressure at all as I was walking around the car. After all the paperwork was signed, instead of just giving me the keys to drive off, Kenia took the time to show me all the features of the car. For months I had reached out to many dealerships within a 100 mile radius asking for out the door pricing. Some dealerships wanted me to make a deposit upfront, others tried to push options I did not want and refused to remove them when i asked. Most dealerships would stop communication if they did not have what I was asking for. It was like pulling teeth trying to get transparent numbers with other dealers. Kenia really stood out because there was no hesitation with providing the final out the door pricing, and it still beat out most of the competition. Everything she presented was clearly laid out when I asked her to break it down. If you are buying a new car, make sure to do your research! Know what you want, get comparables from other dealerships, and do not rush. Be patient! If you do find the Toyota you are looking for at a different dealership, I would still recommend giving Manhattan Beach Toyota a call and give them a chance to earn your business. You might just be pleasantly surprised with the experience.
