We visited Encanto on our quest to get a hot dog in every State Capital; this being our Salt Lake…read moreCity stop. It was a Sunday evening and, not surprisingly, many other hot dog places in the city were closed but we were thrilled to find Encanto. It's a cute little spot surrounded by lovely neighborhoods and it was doing good business on the evening of our visit. The inside is bright and welcoming, relatively small accommodating maybe 40 max. There was one server and she seemed pretty busy. It took a bit of time for her to come get visit our table so we placed our drink orders and food at the same time. We had a couple of questions about the menu but there was a bit of a language barrier. Never fear because everything ended being good. We had a Hot Dog and Ring of Fire Dog and we both opted for a salad for our side. I asked for the habanero sauce on the side, but I thing it was just left off completely. The salads were great. I loved the chickpeas and the dressing that comes with them was super flavorful and light. Would definitely recommend. The hot dogs were really good too. BIG! We had a footlong dog for lunch and these were almost the same size. All of the toppings really worked well together. I loved how creamy mine was with the melted cheese, guac and aji sauce. I know it's my own fault for asking not to have the Habanero sauce but I wish the Ring of Fire Dog had been spicier. Oh well! I'd definitely come back here to drive other parts of their authentic delicious menu.

Been craving the food here, ESPECIALLY THE PLANTAINS ever since I ate here a few days ago. First…read morethe service was very kind, and good vibes in the restaurant. My drink was SOOO good I wish I remembered the name but it was a creamy cocktail. Three of us shared the enchanted platter for 3 which was definitely enough food. Every part was soooo delicious. All the flavors blended together so well. Highly recommend and definitely want to come back in the future.

The…read moreatmosphere is casual, lively, and feels very authentic, and the service was friendly and helpful when it came to explaining the menu. I only speak English so the waitress needed help and a guy came over and explained the menu and drink options. The standout is the grill--everything is smoky, flavorful, and very filling. I ordered the Picada platter, which comes loaded with steak, chicken, pork, wings, potatoes, and corn. It's a huge, shareable dish and a great way to try a little of everything. Two of us shared that and had leftover for lunch the next day. Overall, the food is bold and satisfying, though definitely on the heavier side. It's not a quick, light meal--it's more of a sit-down, enjoy-the-experience kind of place. A solid choice when you want something unique and packed with flavor, or if you want to load up on different types of meat or a big steak. The owner also posts on instagram, so check that out.

Decided to try out this Colombian restaurant that's new to the area. I decided on the New York…read morestrip steak smothered in a cheese sauce with some grilled shrimp on top. I also got a side of Colombian salad and the mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked well, but it was extra fatty, even for a NY strip. The cheese sauce was interesting and a new twist, but next time I would order without the sauce. The grilled shrimp was seasoned and cooked well and I enjoyed this the most. The mashed potatoes also had some broiled cheese on top and were pretty good. The Colombian salad had lettuce, corn, cilantro and pickled onions with a vinaigrette that was pretty tasty. If you're a fan of South American salads, this will do the trick. Glad to see a new business giving it a go here.
