The area plays host to CU cross country meets, so there's miles of dirt road to run. You can easily knock a five mile run here if you keep looping around. Our hike was extra special because it was led by Maria the Park Ranger. Maria's knowledge and passion for Chautauqua was incredible to witness. You can tell these mountains mean so much to her! We learned about the landscape, wildlife, Natives, and so much more. Our hike was simple but we saw so much along the way. The views of the flatirons are hard to beat. The path was busy but it was a beautiful saturday morning and it still didn't feel overly crowded. We saw lots of doggies, runners, and families and friends meeting for a morning hike to kick off their weekend. It was pure magic. I hope I get to come back one day!!

I'm a tourist and the like and I enjoyed it! We lucked into parking on a beautiful, busy Saturday morning. They have very nice restrooms at the Ranger station, and more overflow port a potties around if needed too. The nearby trail is highly accessible and it doesn't take long for some views to pay off. It's a decently steep incline, but nothing crazy at all. Once you're into the trees the shade helps against the thin air and the sun, and it's so quiet and serene. No mosquitoes like I'm used to back home. Loved all the birds (shoutout magpies) and also seeing everyones' dogs.

Located east of foothills off baseline, you can start north off bobolink trail, or drive down to the rec center. There's a large building but numerous trails to walk as well! There are numerous soccer and football fields around, and basketball and racquetball courts. Many volleyball fields and tennis courts too! There's a big dog park as well with a cool little pond beach. I enjoy this park a ton for sunsets and casual walks, as well as time trial runs. This is a must do park!

For most of my time living in Boulder, this meant taking her to North Boulder Park everyday. Having just moved to the Glenwood neighborhood, I am no longer in close enough proximity to go everyday. Luckily, I discovered Howard H. Park. With plenty of open space, beautiful foliage, and a section specifically for off leash dogs, I am glad to call this my new spot. There is also a children's playground, walking/jogging trail, and creek that runs around the outside of the park. Generally, the park is pretty empty, until about 5 pm or on the weekends - when you're sure to run into plenty of people and their furry friends. My favorite part is a small hill/bump which provides a great place to lay down, as well as spectacular vantage point for launching the disk for my dog.

My dog heard kids skateboarding in the park section and decided it was a good time to leave. 3/5 stars for the dog park, 4/5 for the actual park. The park was pretty big, clean, everyone had their own space and were doing activities and being surrounded by mountains isn't too bad either.

I love the location, alongside a marshy area with lots of light, fresh plants and shade. There's a nice short loop to walk, and some facilities around as well. The other dogs were friendly and my dog had fun walking around the path. There was a bit of water around but that's usually normal after snow. Great stop for a quick break or play time!

The bartenders and patrons were all very friendly. We came at 6pm in June and the dog park section was nicely shaded. Such a relief after a very warm day in the front range. In the dog park there are water bowls available to keep your dog hydrated while they're playing with all of their newly made friends! I particularly loved how laid back this dog park/bar is. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area!
