Huge park with tons of parking, one giant open area and one big area for smaller dogs. They had plenty of poop bags and most people picked up after their dogs. Every dog and person we met was friendly and well mannered. There could be more water and toys but those things are always hit or miss at dog parks. My pup had a blast and I can't wait to return! read more

Usually have a great time at this local dog park! There is plenty of parking and space. I love coming around 5 pm, when lots of people start showing up. Gotta stay active and watch for dog skirmishes, but haven't had a big issue out of around 50 times. There's two spaces for dogs, and lots of bags. People are usually clean and friendly. read more

I would NOT recommend going here to this dog park. We have two doodles and you never know the temperament of dogs there. We hadn't went in several months after seeing one dog fight/hear about another more severe in this large dog park. We decided to take our two dogs there yesterday since it was nice. My mini Bernadoodle has been attacked as a young puppy by a pit Bull and almost died almost 3 years ago. Yesterday, she had an even worse internal damage with larger puncture wound and longer attack from a Pit mix (bluish gray with white feet dense and larger attack from I learned was adopted from Boulder Humane Society approx 1 year to 1 1/2 that was 110 pounds. Owner is female, 5/6 maybe young 20's I would guess female thin, dark brown hair. She is very nice but I want everyone else out there to be careful and look out for this dog. The young female owner was nice and offered my terrified, hurt dog a treat as my dog was crying and shaking after about a minute of her female pit mix biting the neck of my dog, and then climbing on top of her (2 times her weight) and kept attacking and trying to take her away from me trying to separate them to no avail. The sounds of pain from my dog were horrific during the attack and everyone in the park heard it. I thought she was okay after my husband was able to separate them but she was in shock. She had to be seen today and has large puncture wound, extensive swelling, pain and massive soft tissue damage all over her neck and chest. I'm not happy and the owner left without giving me any info and now we have a vet bill w med, and likely more. Uploaded in an image of the deep tooth puncture wound in just one injury inflicted that could become infected and turn into an abscess in addition to all the swelling of her chest and all around her neck that can abscess as well. She isn't in the clear for 3 weeks. Be careful if you go there and look out for this dog so yours isn't next. read more

The space is huge, but it doesn't work for me anymore. After years of going there I'm finished. Just so sad that people at this park bring dogs who attack other dogs and don't take responsibility for it. My dog was bit by a dog who had a restraint on its mouth so it wouldn't bite. That was useless. Why put a restraint on if it doesn't work? The dog wouldn't give back my dog's ball and when it finally dropped it, my dog picked it up and she bit my dog. If you have a dog who bites, it shouldn't go to a dog park. Take it where it can't bite if you know it bites! My sister's dog got bit there ten days before, completely innocently also. Neither the owner of the dog that bit my dog, nor the one that bit hers took any responsibility for the damage. Between the two of us we spent almost $500 at the vet. I'm done with this level of risk. read more

Continuing our tour of dog parks, we ended up here today, and it is a great dog park!! Huge open space, shaded bench areas scattered around, lots of water containers in which owners bring gallon jugs of water and share freely. Restrooms in the parking lot. While the area itself was very clean, some left their bags of doo lying around the park, the only trash can is by restrooms, only bummer and why not a 4 star... but amazing the entire park is kept so clean and free of any trash or doggie doo. Logs for the dogs to play on, a very large area for small dogs, and a walking path surrounding the entire enclosed area. On our list of those parks, we will be returning too. Owners are friendly and mindful of their dogs. Lots of dogs out today, very playful, while some were a tad on the aggressive side the owners paid attention and stepped in immediately. read more

First of all, this dog park has the best name. Regardless of the name, it's one of my favorite dog parks ever. My boyfriend and I were visiting from San Francisco and exploring the various Colorado neighborhoods. We stumbled upon Lafayette and were due for letting our husky puppy run around and burn some energy. I'm a huge fan of parks that have a separate area for small dogs. Especially since you'd lose your dog in the vastness of the rest of the park... definitely a good idea. (Kidding.) There's so much fenced-in space for dogs to run around, whether playing chase or keeping to themselves. Amenities include human restrooms (omg!) and of course poop bags and water jugs. I hope to come back here someday! read more

Took my bulldog there this past weekend. It had been cold but when the sun came out so did the mud. No problem for me or any of the other dog lovers. Mess is to be expected. They have a smaller area for tiny dogs that's fenced off and a much bigger area for the rest- people and dogs are friendly whenever I'm there. They provide bags to clean up poo and water and dishes for the pups. You do have to walk out of the enclosure to the trash dump to drop of poo which is not the most convenient but it makes sense. Great dog park- if there is moisture out be prepared to add a dog and car wash to that day's schedule. read more

I love this dog park! I can let Leia run around unleashed. She absolutely loves playing with the other dogs and running around without having to pull me around. This gives her a safe environment without any worry that she will run off. Leia is a Lab that loves life and absolutely loves people and other dogs. I used to go to this dog park daily. And at the time I was mostly satisfied with it. It was a decent space with plenty of room, but it did get very muddy when it rained and there was no running water for the dogs. In general, it was fine for anyone looking for a local place to simply let their dogs out to run. However, in the middle of the day a few months ago, while parked there and walking around with my dog, someone smashed my car window and stole my purse from my car. The hell that has been my life since then from this incident (all my credit cards had been used within minutes of the theft of my purse/wallet, my identity was stolen and multiple accounts opened in my name, this person also used my driver license to rack up a bunch of traffic tickets and my drivers license was therefore suspended) inspired me to write this review. I had posted signs at the park warning people, but the city promptly took them down citing that they didn't want people to be fearful of coming to the park. Ha. I have never gone back. Keep this is mind- don't leave any valuables within view in your car, lock your doors and assume nowhere is safe from terrible people, even In little Lafayette CO. read more

Writing a poor review for a dog park because of bad dog owners is like writing a poor review of a concert venue because you had to stand next to a drunk obnoxious person. How does that reflect on the dog park itself?! In my opinion, it shouldn't factor in at all. Having said that, I love this park. I have a young, energetic puppy and this is a Godsend on the weekends when we want to spend the later part of the day relaxed, and have our puppy be relaxed and snoozing too. In the center is a great area for "small and timid dogs", which is itself quite sizable. We like to take our pup in there to "warm up" and play some fetch so she can get running and get some of that early energy out. After that, we take her to the outer part, which is also quite big, with a path around it so you can take a nice walk and let your dog roam and sniff leash free, and play with some other pups. If people were more alert to their dogs instead of being on their cell phones, they would be able to tell when their dog is NOT having a good time and should be separated. Pay attention to your dog and you can stop rough housing before it happens! The cherry on top for this place is that there are water bowls and pick up bags a plenty, and folks are really good about refilling bowls so your dog never goes thirsty after all that running around. Great Bark Park is a great place to bring your dog, at any age, to play, and make some friends. read more

This is a fabulous dog park, though a long drive for a car-sick pup from Denver. But once we got there she absolutely loved it. We stayed in the dedicated area for smaller dogs - which is pretty big. the rest of the park is even bigger. They have shaded benches, and stainless steel water bowls for owners to fill, and poop bags. The park is mostly dirt, but I believe there was a path around it for human to walk on - not totally sure. We may go back some day when we feel like a bit of a drive. read more

The park is nice. Most of the dogs are nice. Some of the humans are not so nice. I've been yelled at by one particular cranky older lady twice now. First when she assumed my son was unattended,even though he stood next to me. She pitched a huge fit when my son asked another lady if he could pet her dog. Meanwhile cranky lady dog was in the smaller "timid" dog area while she stood outside of the pen "watering trees" as she put it, her dog was left unsupervised, which as we all know is a big no-no. But I guess the rules only apply to the rest of us and not the oh so helpful tree watering service. Another time when her dog wouldn't stop humping my dog, for nearly 10 minutes. My dog finally growled at hers and suddenly I was the one with a problem animal? Please. I've seen tons of dog poo left laying around. Clean up after your dogs! The park overall is nice and a great place for dogs to get exercise, but a few bad apples can ruin it for everyone. read more

We had a good experience at this park with our lab mix and chihuahua. Our lab is an escape artist and so we appreciate the fence, but there's still enough room for her to run and get good exercise. The dogs and people we met were both well behaved. it was busy but seemed clean and people seemed to care about taking care of this park. We will be back! read more

We visit at least once a day and typically have the best time. This morning, 3 large dogs ganged up and attacked my medium-sized dog. I was told by another dog mom that those 3 dogs did the same to her pup the week before. We love this park and our dogs, do NOT bring your dogs if they are known to attack! We adore this dog park for many reasons. First, it is VERY big so there is plenty of space for all the dogs to run and play. They have two sections. The first area is the largest and for dogs that are very social. There is a smaller coral that is meant for more 'timid' dogs. That is nice so that everyone can play. Another amazing thing like about this park is the sense of community here. Everyone wants to say hello and get to know you and your dog. It really makes you feel like you are a part of something special when you come. One thing to be aware of is that there isn't much shade here so avoid coming in the heat of the day. Its best to come in the evening as the sun is setting both because its cool, and because it looks gorgeous to watch the sunset behind the mountains as you and your family walk around the park with your dog. read more

Our closest and go-to dog park for many years! Plenty of orphaned tennis balls to chew on, no critters, and protection from the cars on the road. Water bowls and jugs (please bring a jug filled with water just incase and leave is so dogs aren't thirsty!) along with an assortment of bags and posts for leashes. You will have a tired dog to bring home and will have gotten a little bit of exercise, so its good for you both. The parking lot gets full and there is an overload of dogs and exhausted owners around after work, and its hot midday, so hope for the nice afternoon breeze and jump in the car! read more

Great dog park with a good community (which is active on facebook) and lots of space to run. It doesn't have water or a lake, but people do bring in clean water daily, and the dogs are so happy to have all that space. There's even a little run for shy dogs. I've been to Louisville and while I love the swimming hole, the space there is too small and fights break out. Not worth it. My dog adores this place! I'm so happy that Lafayette followed through on their plans for a dog park even when funding was short. This is a great, wide-open space, and folks always seem to keep the water and pickup bags replenished even though the park is almost a mile east of town. It's dusty and hot in the summer, so we tend to avoid it at mid-day. Bring your tennis ball flinger, as you won't want to be handling all the spare balls lying in the dirt. The track around the park is long enough that you could get in a good run doing 0.36-mile laps if you're comfortable on uneven terrain. read more

We've taken our boxer/lab puppy to this park a few times. Love that it is so spacious. Love that it has water jugs available, we try to bring one each time we go and appreciate that others do the same for the benefits of all the pups. There is mostly dirt in this park, so expect your dog to get a bit dirty. We usually have to give her a bath after but it is worth it because she has so much fun. This park is not too bad... it's an ok place to take your pup to have a little socialization with other dogs. The good: Good sized, restrooms, nicely fenced, lots of room to throw a ball, generally nice people with generally pretty great dogs. Usually plenty of water. Like the "Track around the outside" effect. Gives you a nice walk while your pup plays. The bad: It's really just a dried out hole after the summer hits. Becomes a brown landscape with plenty of foxtails and dirt. Not so great. Get's pretty beat. The one thing about this place that really sucks is that although most people and their dogs are really great, a few bad apples can definitely spoil it for everyone. I don't know what it is about this place but there are a lot of people who bring their big, dominant unsocialized dogs to this park, and they shouldn't. Then they don't watch them. I have a large, male golden retriever. He is a love, but he does NOT like other alpha male dogs trying to dominate him. I can't tell you how many times in this park some big dog has charged up on him, started a fight, and been unpleasantly surprised to find out exactly what a Golden Retriever can do. Other dog parks in this area... no problem. Mostly good experiences, but it happens a lot at this park. But that's not the park... it's the people. Just something you should be aware of if you bring your dogs here... you can run into clueless, rude owners with unsocialized landsharks. I have actually been bitten by a dog in this park. Not my fault, owner was fined. Overall though, pretty good. read more

This is our favorite local dog park. There's plenty of room for our dog to run around, and a path around the edge so owners can stretch their legs too. There's usually a good crowd here on the weekends. There are several shaded benches along the path, but no trees or other shade in the park, so I'd recommend going early on hot days. read more

This dog park is a mud hole! Small with mean owners and mean dogs that attack! Worst dog park I've ever seen actually! Very small. In the handful of times I've been there I've seen more irresponsible owners with biting dogs. My aussiedoodle was attacked my two dogs and bitten. The owners denied it, but we were there and saw them take my dog down to the ground. HORRIBLE place. Will never bring my dog back there. I guess I'm just used to parks over 20 acres big, with trees and lakes. Where you can walk and not even see another dog or there owner. read more

Great dog park! So glad to have this place within a few minute drive of our home. It's a good-sized dog park, much bigger and better than many in Boulder. I love the loop trail as I'm not really the type who goes to the dog park to stand around; I prefer to interact with my pups and play fetch and supervise interactions. That said, people are almost always super-friendly here as well as relatively relaxed about the dogs socializing, which I view as a positive thing. High-strung, anxious owners are never a good thing at a dog park! The only issue I've had there is my border collie is scared to go back after hearing gunshots. I have since heard them a few more times when with my other dog. Obviously this isn't the dog park's fault, but I wanted to mention it in case you have a dog that is scared of gunshots. Remember to bring a jug of water, or take an empty one home with you and bring it back the next time you go. The city of Lafayette doesn't take care of this; it's the dog owners that do it =) read more
