The huge slide in the pool is tempting, but I have only come here for meetings in the back room. The room has large windows on one side of the room which streams in natural lighting and outstanding views of the Flatiron Mountains, which is a great way to impress clients and guests. The Boulder Rec Center is an ideal place to have a meeting or presentation because the facility is easy to fine, parking is free and plenty, and the cost of rental is cheaper then a room-with-a-view closer into town. There is the downfall of there not being any walkable restaurants or cafes... Say, if you were putting on an all-day seminar, but get the meeting catered or charge an extra $5.00 a person and order subs, and this will keep the guests onsite and comfortable. The building is a green gem in boulder, and is LEED Certified under the US Green Building Council... Meaning, the building used environmentally conscious building techniques for the design and construction of the building... making the building more energy efficient and better for the environment in the long run. * Star one for bringing the community together ** Buff star two is for a workout center and mammoth looking fun slide *** Me so cheap star four is for an affordable meeting room **** Me even cheaper star four is for easy to find and cheap parking

I've been here a few times to take advantage of the dog park. The off-leash area for dogs is fantastic and spacious. There are three separate areas for dogs to roam around -- the side of one area is adjacent to the pond, so the dogs can cool off and play in the water. My dog isn't much of a swimmer, but I was happy to see him brave the edge and get his feet wet! Whosagoodboy?!? There is plenty of parking and the playgrounds, tennis courts and recreation fields seem to be fairly wide open when I'm here. It probably doesn't get as much traffic compared to other parks in Boulder, so if your motivation is to be social and meet dog owners/park-goers, you might want to check other parks. The trails at the edge of the community center are great and have beautiful views of the mountains!

Decades ago my younger son took gymnastic classes there. My husband has used their pool for Scuba trip prep swims to test out their equipment. Also my kids and many of their friends had birthday party events there in the 80s. A friend of mine invited me to stop in and try out their fitness classes for seniors. The program is free to us, though most of the participants have some form of support from their medicare supplement policy (Silver Sneakers membership) and I assume that benefit supports the program financially. Nothing is ever "free" in the sense that it is just like being out in nature. There is a large building and many staff to support. All the staff we met in the process of signing up and get information on programs were very pleasant, efficient and supportive. The teacher of the class was a very positive and talented young woman who clearly understood her participants very well. The music was such fun. Some was the a similar play list to what I had in classes in the late 80s & early 90s, when I last took an indoor fitness program at other locations under the Jazzercize label. Many disco dance songs, new in that era, retro classics now. Also some pop songs of the 60s for some of us and cool down relaxing folk and ballads focus too. I was surprised yet pleased to hear Joan Baez "Diamonds and Rust" unique to a class like this I think. Parking is a bit complicated at the center, as the lot out front has very small spaces and is filled quite early in the day, but there is more room along the sides with slightly larger spaces and now that we know that, we will try there first next week.

But when you come in the summer it will still look the same. A removable heated tent will be erected inside and heated by geothermal heat from underneath that will be transferred underground from the dining hall kitchen's surplus stored energy. So modern in such an old structure. So when you visit this spring there is a lot of truck traffic and digging and detours around the building but you can see from the last picture, the green and the view of the Flatirons are undisturbed.

Today was especially fun because we brought her friend Vincent. My daughter has grown up in Colorado hiking skiing doing all the Colorado things and it's just so emotional seeing her finally making it up to the royal arch for the very first time . We've done Sequoia national Park trails and Yosemite trails but royal arch has so many different parts to it hike it is a lot shorter than a lot of national park trails but it's more challenging in. There are a lot of boulders to crawl up and down from and a lot of tight squeeze places to get to the most amazing view you have ever seen. Very worth it please come ! Unfortunately, this hike is not for unexperienced hikers to go alone please bring a friend who has done it before or has hiking experience. I would not recommend taking your very small children up here or elderly that are not athletic. They simply won't enjoy their time again. It's very challenging for a lot of people. Please do not let this discourage young adult adults that are healthy and whole. If you have never hiked before, but are an avid runner you will be able to make it up here. Just make sure you bring a snack and whatever you bring up bring down. Do not leave trash anywhere.

I found out between Christmas and New Years that I needed to cancel my toddler's class. Cats is closed during this period, so I called and left a message. I called again when the gym reopened and explained my situation. Although the next session started the day that the gym reopened, and they do not allow cancellations within 2 weeks of the session start, they agreed to make an exception given the circumstances as long as I filed my cancellation form that day. I did that. In Feb they charged me for the entire month anyway. I called to point out the mistake, and they agreed that I had been charged in error, but refused to refund the money. Again, I'm not worried about the mistake - I've been a small business owner and understand that things slip through the cracks sometimes. It's the fact that they won't correct an easily correctable mistake that's unacceptable. I'd recommend taking your business to the more honest and reputable options in the area.

We did have a great time and I believe the lot of us will be returning this week for some more training!

I was so nervous walking in, but from the moment we arrived, every single staff member made us feel welcomed, safe, and supported. Our guide, Koa, was the perfect balance of fun, kind, and incredibly skilled. He guided us through the rapids with such confidence and ease while also making sure everyone felt safe and included. He checked in on us several times throughout and made sure we were having fun, asked us if we wanted to "spice it up" a bit or keep it mellow and just really let us know this was "our" trip and he's cater to what we wanted. I quickly found myself letting go of fear and enjoying the moment... something I didn't expect would happen. Koa's energy was contagious, and his calm, respectful nature made us feel like we were in the best hands possible. At one point on the river, another rafting company had a mishap and we had to pull over and wait for them to recover and get their riders back into the raft safely. Koa explained what had happened with total grace - no judgment, no gossip - just a calm and respectful explanation. He also spoke so kindly of his own coworkers and even the owner of Liquid Descent. You could tell he genuinely cares about the rafting community and takes pride in his work and LOVES his Liquid Descent family! Every employee we encountered was friendly, encouraging, and helpful - from getting us fitted with helmets and life jackets to cheering us on as we headed out. As someone who started out nervous, that kind of supportive vibe made a huge difference. They encouraged me, and they helped me push past my comfort zone in the best way possible. What a GREAT memory! We will remember this day not only for the thrill of the rapids, but for the kindness and heart of the people who guided us through it! If you are considering rafting in Colorado, go with Liquid Descent. I'm so glad we did!
