Patiently waiting for vet that didn't help him.
    Genesis H.

DONT BRING YOUR PETS HERE. I had a scheduled visit for my English Bulldog 10/19/23 and had such a horrible and humiliating experience. I should've listened to the reviews before I came. If you have a bulldog or any "squished nosed" pet, avoid this vet at all costs. She won't even care to look at your pet, she walked into the room after making us wait 30 min and immediately started lecturing me about bulldogs and problems they have. As if I don't know anything about my own pet. She did her best to make me feel as bad as possible, didn't ask me a thing about him and his history (he's had eye surgery). Didn't bother to check his eye out (the reason we were there) and continued on about his folds and skin and a million other problems he doesn't have just to shame me for being a bulldog owner. After about 20 minutes of passive aggressive lectures I straight up asked her "do you have a problem with bulldog owners?" where she answered with a blunt "yes I do." Someone who allows their own personal feelings to get in the way of professionalism should not under any circumstances be a vet, or any healthcare provider at that. Her job, and only job, is to help the pet. And she refused to do that after all the bs judgement she put me through! I will add a small video clip if it allows me to, of the end of the first conversation we had, where she was meant to leave the room and come back with a diagnosis and prescription. When she came back, she had NO diagnosis, NO prescription. She had an ARTICLE about bulldogs!!! Lmaooo I can't make this up. (An article that I already had which is odd since I'm sooooo uneducated about bulldogs). For someone who cares so much about the breed you'd think she'd do her best to help him but no, her only concern was shaming ME. Terrible vet but more importantly, terrible human being.

    Vet put tattoo on dog

My pups get great care at Valley View. The only thing is that when I had her spayed, they tattooed her. No warning that is their practices at all. She is a tiny dog. And I detest this tattoo. My pup sleeps on the back constantly and the comments and questions are just dang irritating. I should have been able to opt out of a bright teal/green checkmark on my dog for ABSOLUTELY FOREVER.

I took it upon myself to find a clinic who could do his cremation, that wouldn't be too far away or too expensive. I called so many places, so many were closed or had outlandish prices and I was in a panic because time was really of the essence and this was such a sensitive issue. Where could we go that wasn't over an hour away or charging $400 that we just didn't have. I finally found this clinic on a list of veterinarians around Madera County and gave them one last desperate call. The first person I spoke to this morning was Samantha and she was so kind and understanding and let me fill out all the new patient info for my sister so she wouldn't have to deal with any of that when she brought her baby in. The cremation was going to be much more affordable and she told me it would include a nice little wooden box with a tree of life on it. I couldn't believe I found this place and it all sounded like exactly what we were hoping for. Later on in the day I had to call again with a big favor and this time it was Stephanie and she was just as kind and wonderful, and she went above and beyond for us. I'm genuinely emotional typing this out because this was such a heartbreaking and stressful situation and both of these lovely humans helped make things okay for us. They definitely understand the love we have for our animals and showed so much care and compassion. I will never forget the kindness we were shown. I am forever grateful and would recommend this clinic to anyone especially if you are needing somewhere for end of life services. Rest in peace Cheesypoof.

I brought my dog in for what I understood would be a straightforward appointment. She went in calm, normal, and completely herself. When the staff brought her back to me, she was in a state I have not experienced with her before - extremely distressed, trembling, vocalizing, and visibly frightened. This behavior continued long after we left. What made the situation even more upsetting was the level of confusion, inconsistency, and lack of transparency when I tried to understand what had happened during the time she was taken to the back. The explanations I received did not match one another, and the documentation I later requested did not line up with what I had been told in person. I have never left a veterinary clinic with so little clarity and so many unanswered questions. The entire interaction made me feel uneasy and unsure of what actually occurred during her visit. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this clinic to anyone. I would strongly discourage pet owners from leaving their animals out of sight here or even scheduling an appointment in the first place. I would not return.

We were in an incredibly painful situation, our dog had bitten our daughter in the face twice and needed to be euthanized for her safety. We had adopted him from a shelter, and finding a compassionate, affordable option was not easy. Shelters were at capacity, the SPCA quoted over $500, and other vets were similarly overpriced. We called Northpoint, received a price over the phone, and made the 45-minute drive from out of town, already emotionally drained. What we experienced once we arrived made a devastating day so much worse. First, upon arrival we were informed, for the first time, that we needed to bring paperwork from the shelter where we adopted our dog. No one mentioned this when we called. Staff attempted to contact the shelter themselves, said they couldn't reach them, and then told us they might not be able to help us at all. My husband had to get back in the car, drive to the shelter to retrieve immunization records, and return, adding significant time and stress to an already traumatic experience. Second, when we were finally seen, they quoted us a higher price than what we were given over the phone. They also attempted to add an urgent care fee, claiming we had been given an urgent appointment, which was not true. My husband had to push back just to get them to reconsider. When he mentioned the original price we were quoted by phone, staff told him there was nothing they could do. We were grieving. We were exhausted. We had already driven nearly an hour and a half round trip for paperwork. And Northpoint chose that moment to add surprise fees and dismiss our concerns entirely. It felt like they knew we had no other options and used that against us. I wouldn't wish this experience on any family already going through the pain of losing a pet. If you're in a similar situation, I'd encourage you to get everything, pricing and requirements, in writing before you make the trip.
