They have a great selection of all kinds of trees as well as fruit trees. I wanted one lemon tree, one orange tree, one peach tree and one plum tree. Jason explained all the different varieties of each. I chose a Meyer lemon tree, one Cara Cara orange tree, one Desert Gold peach tree and one Santa Rosa plum tree. I also spoke with Barb about the care of all the trees, she took the time to give me detailed care explanations on each tree. That really help and she really knows a lot about plants and trees. The crew that delivered and planted the trees were very prompt, skilled and polite. I am very pleased with my whole experience with Whitfill nursery. From the price of the trees to the level of customer service I received. I shouldn't need to walk all the way back up front to ask -- and I've been giving the wrong information before anyhow. Its important to know what kind of plant you're buying for multiple reasons. The other Whitfill location (off Guadalupe and Cooper) doesn't have this issue. Overall I think the plants are pretty healthy but after having an issue with lack of labeling (on both the kind of plant and pricing), having been given the wrong plant info on a plant, and after having asked if they had Pink Fairy Duster and being sent off in a direction to wander and never find it on my own, I'm really over this location.

Last year, my mother and I both bought trees here, recut the trunk and watered them everyday. My tree died within a WEEK while hers stayed looking beautiful well after Christmas. There was no difference in how we set them up or cared for them. I emailed Valley View a week after I got my tree to let them know what happened, but no one responded. I emailed them two more times, still no reply. I tried calling them, but was told they could not help me. I went in person back to the lot where I bought it and was told that "I heard last year's trees looked pretty bad" and "once you buy it, the purchase is final". I am super dissatisfied with this Oregon company. Don't waste your money!!!

So I decided to investigate having a tree delivered and found Valley View. I spoke with a friendly woman there and told her what I wanted. She suggested a Noble Fir and I scheduled it to be delivered several days before Christmas. The delivery man arrived on time, brought the tree into my house and set it up in my living room. It fit perfectly, and was really beautiful. Plus, it was very fresh, and even a week after Christmas, it has hardly dropped any needles. Of course, the price is a bit more than buying a tree at Home Depot, but this was SO much better! I'm very happy and will definitely have another tree delivered for Christmas next year!
