Please keep your trash off my doorstep. And you (or whatever company you pay to deliver your flyers) may want to read up on the Town Of Gilbert ordinances regarding solicitation and handbills. You're paying someone to walk through the landscaping of my side yard, dump a handful of trash on the doorstep, then walk through the landscaping on the other side. Thats three ordinance violations. And the ordinance applies not just to the person or company delivering, but to the companies being advertised as well. Sec. 14-172. - Distributing handbills and subscribed materials on private property. (a) It is unlawful for any person to deposit, place, throw, scatter or cast any handbill for purposes of solicitation upon any private property in the town whereon any of the following signs is exposed to public view: No peddlers, no solicitors or canvassers, no transient merchants, or no trespassing. (b) Any handbill or subscribed materials shall be placed or deposited upon private property in such a manner as to prevent the handbill or subscribed materials from being carried or deposited by the wind or other elements upon any street, sidewalk, or other public place, or upon neighboring private property. (c) Any person placing or depositing any handbill or subscribed materials upon private premises shall utilize public streets, sidewalks or walkways, unless the owner or occupant has given express permission to walk across unpaved areas of the yard. (d) Any person or entity whose name appears on the handbill or subscribed material as the person or entity being promoted in the handbill or subscribed material is the responsible party for ensuring compliance with this section 14-172 and for any actions of those employed or engaged to place or deposit the handbill or subscribed material on the private property. (e) Violations of this section 14-172 are subject to the enforcement actions and penalties set forth in section 14-173 in addition to any other remedies available at law. (Ord. No. 2572, § I, 3-3-16) Sec. 14-173. - Violations of no solicitation requirements. (A) If a person is found by the code compliance inspector to be in violation of section 14-171 or section 14-172, the code compliance inspector shall provide a written notice of the violation to the responsible party. (B) If after three written notices of violation for the same address within a one-year period a responsible party is found by the code compliance inspector to be in violation of the same offense in any one-year period such responsible party shall be guilty of a civil sanction punishable by a fine of not less than $500.00. The Gilbert Town Prosecutor is authorized to file a complaint in the Gilbert Municipal Court. Upon conviction of a violation, the court shall order a responsible party who has been convicted of a violation of the section to pay a fine of not less than $500.00 for each count upon which a conviction has been obtained. A judge shall not grant probation to or suspend any part or all of the imposition or execution of any sentence required by this paragraph except on condition that the person pay the mandatory minimum fines. (C) For purposes of calculating the one-year period, the date when the violation is found and cited by the code compliance officer shall be used. (Ord. No. 2572, § I, 3-3-16) read more

They really are tree masters...Great prices! I have a very large Ficus tree in my front yard that has been hard to keep under control (due to its enormous size), so I called this company to get on of their free estimates that they offer. The woman I spoke with in their office was very pleasant and courteous on the phone, and seemed knowledgeable about what would need to be done to prune our large ficus tree back into an attractive tree (rather than an eyesore!). The gentleman that came out to do the estimate arrived on time, and was very friendly, and also seemed to have answers to all of the technical questions that I had for him (believe me, I grilled him with technical questions!). He told me that he was a certified arborist, which I completely believe, because he even recommended steps to take with our ficus tree to try and prevent this tree from being damaged by the frost next time that the weather dips below freezing at night. He also recommended that we have the tree pruned even farther away from our house than we had originally planned, because he said that with the tree growing that close to the house, we were at major risk of losing expensive rooftiles the next time that a big storm comes through. He explained that big wind gusts can slap the leader branches against our roof tiles, and actually pull them off of the roof and send them crashing to the ground (which also sounds like a safety hazard!). After the estimate was complete, I was completely comfortable with their recommendations, and the fact that the arborist was able to answer every question that I threw at him. They also gave us a price for the project that seemed very fair, considering how extremely large the tree was, and the fact that it would take their crew almost a full half day to due the large amount of pruning that needed to be done. Considering the amount of work that needed done and the very fair price that they gave us, I scheduled to have the work done (not to mention that I had family coming for the weekend, meaning that this was an urgent project!). I had used one of the huge tree trimming companies in the past, but this company's prices were much lower than the other company. When it came time for the work to be performed, they arrived on-time, were very friendly, and made my unsightly giant ficus look manicured and beautiful for my company that arrived later that day. I also was planning on having some new sod laid down in my backyard, and asked their crew if they could give me a price on taking out some of the smaller trees that were in the way of my new sod area. Their crew gave me a great price to have the trees removed while they were their on site, so I had them clear out all of the trees in my whole backyard to make room for the new sod installation, and they were more than $150 cheaper than the other company that I called. They even quoted me the price for the additional work before ever starting the work! I definitely recommend these guys. Good job American Tree Masters! My wife and I have numerous trees located throughout our propertey, and some of our trees in the past have suffered damage when the monsoon storms move into town during the summer, so I thought it would be in our best interest to get a couple of bids from tree services to take a look at our tree situation and recommend what they thought should be done to prevent any damage from occurring to our trees whenever the storms move in. My wife did the calling around to setup estimate times with a few different tree services, and I decided to meet with the representatives of each company myself, to determine whom we felt most comfortable entrusting our trees with. I met with I believe 4 different tree companies, and the representative I met with from american tree masters seemed to be the most competent and intelligent compared with the other estimators who showed up (or whatever their official title is), he was able to provide the most insight into why our trees had suffered damage in the past, and also tips to use in the future to give our trees the best chance of surviving any storm, big or small, from causing damage to our trees. He recommended that we have the tops of the 'crowns' of the trees heavily thinned, he said that trees that are left un-thinned tend to suffer significant damage and breakage during monsoon storms, and 'crown thinning' is basically an insurance policy against damage that could otherwise be suffered by our trees. He also gave us advice on fertilizing our 4 queen palms that we have near our pool in our backyard, he said that they were suffering from 'manganese' deficiency, and that if they weren't fertilized at all, they would die within 2-3 years because of the disease they were suffering from. I had never heard of queen palms having health problems, but after doing a little bit of research online, I discovered that he was absolutely correct in the advice that he had recommended. To make a long story short, we were happy with the proposal that their company provided, and booked the work to be performed. When the work was performed, I was at work, but my wife was home to supervise the project, and they really did an incredible job with our trees. I didn't know that sumac trees could look so nice! Their workers were very polite to my wife, and they even asked her to take a look at every tree that was worked on to make sure that she was completely happy with the service before they left. I was impressed with this attention to detail approach that they took, which is something we hadn't experienced in the past with other tree services. I applaud their professionalism and the fact that they asked my wife to verify that everything was completely to her satisfaction before they left. From the time my wife made the call to the time we had the tree removed was less than 4 days, which was wonderful for me and my wife because we have a baby on the way and were trying to find the best day for them to remove our very tall Mexican Fan Palm tree from our small patio in our townhome community. I feel very fortunate that I called this company. I called a different one first and they had not called back after 2 days. I saw American Tree Masters on the internet and was very impressed with all of their positive reviews that they have with the Better business bureau and also with Angies list. Not only did they call me the same day but the estimate was much less than I expected. The project included removal, haul away, disposal, cleanup, and stump grinding to 3"-4" below ground level of this huge palm tree that the crew estimated to be about 50ft. tall! They also had to bring in a crane because of the tightness of the patio, which was included in the total cost, which was very fun to watch! The day of the removal, we received a warm welcome from one of the three gentlemen who would work on the project. They came about 15 minutes earlier than expected, so that was great. They were very efficient, and the work was very interesting to watch them perform as they brought this giant palm tree down in very small pieces (the crew leader explained that they removed this tall tree in small manageable sections so that nothing got damaged in the process). As they were removing parts of the tree, they would clean up the debris and load everything into their big chipper truck so that a huge mess wasn't created. They were done in about 3 hours; they advised it would take 3-4 hours for completion, so we were also happy about the proper time estimate. The owner even came onsite a couple of times to oversee the project to make sure that everything went as planned. Their goal was not to leave until I was happy with the completion. I would recommend this company to anyone, as they were outstanding, not only with the tree work, but they did a super job cleaning & making our yard look fantastic. Overall, we are very satisfied and pleased with the outcome, especially considering how giant this palm tree was in our yard. The owner was very prompt with our inquiry and we can tell he cares about his business and the quality of employees and the work itself. We would recommend this company to anyone who would like to have their trees trimmed or removed! read more

Me and my wife had a very large ficus tree in our front yard that had, once again, been badly damaged by the cold weather that we suffered this winter, which killed off most of our tree, we thought it was completely dead, but a friend of ours told us that it might still be living. Since the tree business is not my specialty, I decided to call around town to get some estimates on what it might cost to have our tree worked on, and to get some professional advice on whether it was still living, and whether or not the tree could still be saved. My wife fielded the estimates from a couple different companies, but the gentelman at american tree masters seemed to be the most knowledgeable of all of the estimators that we spoke with, and seemed to have really good advice for our situation. He was able to use a pocket knife and make very small incisions into several different branches of our tree, and determined that the top half of the tree was completely dead, but the bottom half, and the trunk and the root ball were still living. He recommended a heavy pruning to remove all of the dead portions of the 'crown' of the tree, as he called it, and to leave all remaining green growth in tact, he said that the live foliage would help the tree to regenerate as quickly as possible. Because he seemed very informed on everything that he was discussing with us, we decided to hire their company to handle the project. When the day came that we were scheduled, their crew was on time at the time we had scheduled, and handled the project in a very professional manner. Their crew members were polite and nice, and it seemed like all of their employees really enjoyed their jobs (which we know from experience gives you a better end-product). They did a great job on the cleanup of all of the dead leaves that were scattered everywhere in the yard, and actually did all of the work quicker than we had expected. These are good guys to hire, and we are holding on to their phone number in case the cold weather ever decides to revisit our ficus tree. Well done! read more

i called to get an estimate on getting a tree removed, and another one trimmed, now ive never done this before, so i called around. and American Tree Masters where the top choice right away. my call was answered by a very friendly guy.... David i believe, he told me he could have an estimator in the same day, i was shocked!! i agreed and Dan the owner came, walked me through everything, told me what was gonna be done and i was more than happy with the price. his crew arrived 15 mins early, Joe the crew leader was a very friendly, very knowledgeable guy, they got started right away on my mesquite tree, and in less than 20 mins (after securing the area, and checking where the tree would land) the tree was brought down, it was very entertaining to see haha, while all this was happening, mike was already trimming my other tree, WOW this guy really know what their doing!!! after a little while i heard the chipper, and this guys where already cleaning up, i couldnt believe how fast this guys worked, i look over to the other tree they were working on and i dont think ive ever found a tree more beautiful, before the job was done i saw a red car arrive to my property, and who was it?? Dan checking up on the jobs done. the clean up started and i saw all the guys staying focused, some of the branches landed on my neighbors property, and joe knocked, and asked permission to go to their back yard to clean up, lol my neighbor told me that they left his yard cleaner than when they arrived, ive never seen trimmers that take so much care for their job, needless to say my front and backyard were cleaner than i expected, they hauled away everything but i asked if i could have some of the wood for firewood, and mike actually cut it up for us!!! Very happy with the results. I had a quite large tree in my backyard that I wanted to have removed, but I was skeptical because of how dangerous the situation looked, and I was nervous that my house might get damaged during the process. I had no idea who to call, so I asked around with my neighbors and one of them mentioned that they had been using American tree masters for the last 4 years, and had always been pleased with their work. I called their office and setup an estimate time to get a price on how much it would cost to have this giant pine tree taken out, so that my house's roof wouldnt be at risk anymore from any falling branches. The owner of the company wrote me up a quote, and told me exactly how the tree was going to be removed, in very small pieces with a roping system, and that an arborist would be climbing to the very top of the tree to make sure it was cut down in small and safe manageable pieces. He told me that this was the safe and proper way to remove the tree, and that his crew would take all proper steps to protect anything fragile in our backyard. I also got a couple other quotes for the project from other companies, but I just didn't feel comfortable with the others. We had American Tree Masters do the work, and the project turned out great. They did a good job on the cleanup, and also ground down the huge stump with their stump grinding machine so that it was below ground level and not visible. I see why my neighbor keeps using them, because it seemed that they actually care about the quality of their work. Happy customer! read more

We used American Tree Masters to do quite a bit of tree work around our property recently, and had multiple trees in the backyard that needed very heavy trimming (they were drooping down and almost touching the ground), and a very large tree in the front yard that we wanted removed (my husband said it was too close to our house and roof, and was worried about the tree causing damage to our house). One of our neighbors had recommended American Tree Masters, and said that there crew did a wonderful job on their tree project, so we met with Dan the owner of the company, and he prepared a written proposal, and explained everything very clearly of how the project would be performed and what to expect. When the day came for our project to be performed, we were very impressed to see that the crew not only showed up on time, but took great care to protect all of the small items in our yard, and also were diligent enough to put tarps over lawn ornaments to protect them from any wood chips or sawdust. The crew leader began the project by explaining to us exactly what was going to happen from start to finish, and he even explained exactly how his arborist was going to approach each tree, because he explained to us that the pruning for each different tree type is approched differntly, which I was impressed to learn about. We are so pleased with the results, their crew worked very hard in the heat and did a great job on our trees. We already gave them a great review with the Better Business Bueau and Angie's List. Very disappointed. Dan was too busy to show up for the estimate, so he asked me to take pictures of the tree I wanted trimmed. He gave me a quote based on the pictures and scheduled a crew to do the work. He made it sound like they would do a professional job for the money and that they would have the proper tools to tackle such a large/tall tree (crane, etc.). I took the day off of work as the appointment was scheduled midday. The crew showed up (no crane) and made it sound like they had a completely different idea of what the job was supposed to be. They started setting up, then called Dan, then started packing up. They told me Dan said they shouldn't do the job because of limbs potentially falling near power lines/my balcony/my other tree. It is my understanding that there are tools like ropes to prevent this from happening - but I guess I'm not a trained professional. If this was something that would prevent them from doing a job, maybe they shouldn't commit to a job without surveying the area in person first. Another company gave me an estimate (in person) which was higher than Dan's, but they were certain they could do the job without damage to my property or power lines. This makes me think American Tree Masters just didn't feel like doing the job - which is something I wish they would have told me before I took the day off of work. I'm not sure what bothers me more, the lack of communication between owner/crew/customer, or the lack of respect for my time. Either way, I would not recommend trying to work with them. read more

Dan came out and provided me one of three quotes for the removal of a 40 ft Mesquite Tree in our back yard. American Tree Masters quote was right in the middle, however they were the only company that was fully insured. Two thirds of the tree top had grown over our neighbors property and so we were concerned because we were dealing with their property and a block wall etc., so it was important that the company we hired had insurance in the event of any problems were to arise. The morning of the job the crew which consisted of three (Andrew, Joe & Mike) we're here an hour earlier than promised and got right to it. The gave me great peace of mind right away when the first thing they wanted to do was go over the job and confirm that we were all on the same page. They listened to my concerns regarding our neighbors property and they promised to leave both property's like they were never there (except for the missing tree of course) and they kept their word!! Communication was great and I can't stress enough .... Very professional !!!. In the 13 years here I've dealt with numerous companies in different disciplines. But this had to be the hands down best experience with the greatest piece of mind. I would recommend American Tree Masters ( especially the crew ) !. I got a bid from ValleyTreeMasters for the removal of a big Palo Verde that we lost during a recent storm, as well as trimming a damaged second Palo Verde whcih was next to the first tree. Although they were very busy due to all the damage from the storm, they came out for the bid on a timely manner. Once we scheduled the work, the guys showed up on time, were very friendly and courteous, and did a fantastic job with the removal and clean up. I was at work at the time, and afterwards had some concerns about how the 2nd tree was trimmed. I left a message ( and since it was Labor Day weekend) knowing I would not get to talk to anyone til the following week. Early Tuesday morning I heard back from Joe, and he was completely willing to have another crew come back to do more work on the remaining tree. It took a few tries to get it scheduled,.. but Levi and his crew came back and did an awesome job. American Tree Masters just finished trimming our huuuuge oak tree. It's a beautiful tree, and we were wary that trimming it might ruin it. It was supervised the entire 8-hour process and knew exactly which branches to trim to maintain its beauty. It looks better than before and better than we could have ever imagined. Fantastic work. Professional and efficient. We also had two palms and a pine tree removed at our daughter's home. One palm was easily four stories tall. The other palm had lost it's top (the top had rolled down the hill) and what was left was easily five feet in diameter and stood two stories high. Electrical wires ran through a dying pine tree. This was not an easy assignment, but American Tree Masters accepted the challenge, charged us a very fair price, did an excellent job removing all the trees and debris, and all in good humor! We were very pleased with the work, highly recommend the company, and will have them back again to clean up some other trees here and at our house. read more

Heard about them from one of my neighbors a few years back. He really suggested them for a tree that was peeking over his fence and said they did a great, clean job for a good price. He wasn't lying. Used American Tree Masters probably one or two years ago to trim all of our trees. We had a LOT and a massive one in the back as well. They did everything good and quick and wasn't expensive at all. The yard was done beautifly. Made sure trees were trimmed to my standards. Brought them back this past month for quite a bit of work at my moms house. They were always on time, clean up after themselves and did great work. The people working were also very friendly. I'll definently be calling them to come back to my house for some more work soon. Quality service and speed. Happy with the results every time. Seems like they care about the work they're putting into the yard. It's always hard to trust somebody with your trees or yard work for that matter. That wasn't the case with American tree masters they are by far the best workers I can proudly say I was happy to hire. When I called Dan I thought it was going to take a lot of negotiation but he was very friendly and understanding. Dan was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule to cut my trees. There whole crew arrived alive and ready to work all I had to do was let them know what I wanted and they got straight to it. They were all so fast and friendly that I left the house did some extra errands and I got back and they were finish! I have never seen my palm trees look this healthy and beautiful worth every penny. I could go on and on but the fact that I was able to stay on my schedule and not have to babysit really won me over. I was referred to Valley Tree Masters by my brother in law who lives in Scottsdale and has used them for years. I was pleasantly impressed by their friendly office staff who was able to get my estimate scheduled for the very same day. Joe came out a few hours after I spoke to their office and met with me (but still respected social distancing rules which I appreciated!) and gave me not only a great price but also answered all the questions that I had. He was able to schedule our job for a few days later and his crew showed up on time and did a great job! My yard was completely cleaned up and they even had me come out and give my approval or ask if I wanted any changes made before they finished up. I don't ever use Yelp but was so impressed by Valley Tree that I signed up so that I could give them the kudos they are deserving of!
