Got my first pedicure with my mom. It was so relaxing! My feet feel so smooth. I have suuper sensitive (and pretty ticklish!) feet, but they were gentle and efficient. They also give you a leg massage with oil and place a warm towel on your legs after. The guy who runs the place did my mom's pedi, and he was talkative, informative, and friendly. I got my nails done here a few weeks ago and was quite pleased with them, despite my nail tech changing mid service because the one I had could not do the design I wanted. My nails looked great and I got lots of compliments on them, but when taking them off I noticed a spot on one of my nails that turned out to be a fungal infection, I've never had this problem before. So even though I liked my nails I will not be returning to this shop and cannot get my nails done again until this infection clears up. read more

The establishment is well kept and the workers are super nice, but I would not recommend anyone get acrylic nail sets here. I had a super easy request, but my nails came out super lumpy, bumpy, jagged around the edges, and they didn't put the acrylic on my full nail so it looked like they had already been growing out. They also cut my cuticles in several places, making me bleed a little. I just would not recommend sadly. read more

I walked in here and was approached by a woman. She told me to pick out a color and after I did she informs me they can not service me. This is so unprofessional and I would never step foot in this sweat shop ever again. I figured I would chance it since it was cheap but the customer service and uncleanliness was a big no no. Definitely make an appointment, because they get busy fast!Even though I no longer live in Harrisonburg, I still make the hour drive to visit whenever I need a mani or pedi. Full of insults , crappy nail job, tech bragged they was better than everyone in hburg, said how lucky as a customer you are receiving his nail art services; no set price even for simple fill and paint. I called to ask them if the did ombré nails and the older lady told me they did, so I scheduled an appointment. When I got there, I got the feeling they were trying to talk me out of the ombré nails because the man said things like "this is gonna cost you $60, if you do regular color it's only gonna be $50", which that didn't make sense either because their regular full set is priced at $25. After getting the acrylic on, he did the "ombré" and it looked like a bad white tips job. They had never done this style before! Then he said he would do it another way and he'd only charge me $40, I showed him a picture of what the nails should look like and he said that if he couldn't get them to look like the picture that they'd be free. I was the only customer in the salon, I was honestly scared. He painted the tips white with an airbrush. Sort of looked like ombré (of course I already knew this wasn't the correct process) but once that clear coat went on top, they looked horrible. Then the older lady tried to tell me it looked exactly like the picture, it did not. She told me "well if you don't like them, we'll take them off" so I said okay, take them off. It was very uncomfortable and painful to sit there and have the man roughly take the acrylics off. I wasted 90 minutes there, and now I have to wait 2 weeks before being able to get my nails done at all because they're so brittle and sensitive they hurt. The only reason I chose this salon was because I needed to get my nails done and it was Sunday so that limited my options, after reading their reviews this sounded like the best option. I do believe it would've been a more pleasant experience had I done a regular color, however I called ahead to make sure they could do the service I wanted and they lied. I've been to plenty of nail salons, but I have never had such an awful experience like this before. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE Worst experience ever! Pedicure was fine and friendly. By the time I was ready for my manicure, the guy scraped me bed if nails with the emery board re opening a small cut making me gush blood. I didn't make a big deal out of it until he was ready to Paint my nails and the scab was really big still. I was trying to see if he could soak it in water to make the cut smaller since he had put some freezing gel or something on the it to stop the bleeding. The owner came over and said I was causing trouble and told me I could walk out when I wanted which seemed like a threat to me and also said " oh I guess you got a free pedicure." I was like seriously? Why ever happened to customer service and the customer being right? The owner yelled back THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT. I got up to leave and went to my car and he followed me out and threatened to call The police. I did nothing wrong and the owner went from 0-60 in no time. Btw I went to another nail salon about a mile away called Asian Nails which was amazing. And they were able to soak my hand and get the scab down to look like original small cut. I've been getting my nails done at Fancy Nails in Chantilly for over 13 years & am super loyal to the wonderful lady (Mary) who does them. But we moved out of NOVA & driving 1.5 hours one way for a nail appt seems a bit much. So I tried a nail place (who's name I won't mention) near Costco & ended up loosing a toenail due to infection (mind you this has never happened to me before in 20 years). So I asked around & Valley Nails was recommended to me. I walked in without an appt & they were able to take me immediately since they had just opened (glad I went early because they got super busy). A gentleman by the name of John did my nails. He was nice, polite, kind, gentle, thorough, & very talented. I was able to have a brief conversation with Thomas & he was a fun, kind, honest, & sweet person. The salon itself was very clean, well ventilated, cute, & welcoming. The system they use for pedicures is amazing & I'm confident that I won't ever loose a toenail at Valley Nails. There are even posters on the wall that explain how it's different than other places. I appreciated that their prices are on par with the other nail place I tried in Harrisonburg & well below NOVA prices. My Husband loved that I didn't "stink of like a nail salon" (his usual complaint when I get my nails done). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because no one can ever replace Mary. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for some time now but after going to another nail salon today by krogers (went along with a friend who wanted to go) and having sloppy nails as a result, I had to write a review for this place. Pros- This really is the best nail salon in harrisonburg. I have tried to go to others but I am always disappointed. The customer service is truly the best here. They are focused, They never rush me out the chair. The workmanship is truly perfection. My nail polish always look like gel here and I always get compliments. Pedicures are lovely, they have tablets on the chairs and hooks for your purse. They also do great designs. *My husband and I love going here and will continue. As they said themselves "we cannot do polka-dots on nails" I've never heard of a place that cannot do a simple design on a nail. My husband and I went together to this salon; he went for a mani and I got a pedi and brow waxing. We were walk-ins and were welcomed immediately with less than a 3 minute wait for each service. I loved my pedicure. The nail tech was cordial and most thorough!! It was a standard pedi but included callous removal, leg message and also a hot towel wrap! I'm thrilled with the results! The brow waxing was the BEST I've ever received! I didn't realize my brows could look this great!! I'm not from this area but I asked her if she would like to come home with me (to New Jersey!). I've been going to Valley Nails for quite awhile. Never a bad experience. But last week I called and Thomas answered. I said, I'd like an appt with Thomas for Thursday. He asked what time? I said 11 am. He said ok see you then. I showed up to my appt and the only techs there were his parents. I sat for 10 min before anyone came to ask me what I needed. It was then that his mother told me Thomas wasn't there and I'm not sure but it sounded like she said he went to Florida. That's happened twice to me. The first time I overlooked it thinking life happens. But it happened again. I request Thomas bc he's good. So I'm disappointed that this happened to me again. read more

Came here to get my nails done before meeting my boyfriend for a weekend away (he lives in MD in th summer, I'm down in Bburg, we met halfway in Harrisonburg for the weekend at a hotel). This salon was the closest to where we were staying so I went in on a Friday around 6pm and it was pretty empty. Lots of staff members though, all very polite. I was really pleased to see the price of a manicure ($11). I just wanted the simplest option. I didn't catch the name of the woman who did my nails but she did an amazing job. She recommended a different type of nail polish (cost the same) that would last longer, in the same color I had picked out. She cut my nails and asked what shape I wanted them filed to. I didn't know so she suggested square. Never done square before but I really like it! She then buffed and soaked them, pushed back the cuticles and snipped them off (was a little uncomfortable but not painful). She then did two coats of the polish I picked out and a top coat, drying the nail not being painted under a fan. Very fast and efficient. Then finally dried them under a UV light. I really enjoyed my experience here. However, if you're someone who's bothered by the staff talking to each other in a language you don't know, they do that a lot. Doesn't bother me at all though, sounded like they were talking about cleaning up to close anyway. Highly reccomend! read more

Do not recommend. I went for a simple nail repair and John was my technician. He was rude and his work is sloppy and that's being generous.

I typically love my experience at Vally Nails, however, my last two visits have not been up to par. During the one visit, my gel manicure started chipping two days after having them done. I was out of town, so I could not come back within a week to have them fixed -- nor could I receive a refund. More recently, I came in for a gel manicure again. This time, my manicure took an hour and a half. My plans I had scheduled that evening had to be cancelled because of this. I cannot believe that a gel manicure, which typically takes 30-40 minutes, took this long. I was extremely disappointed. During this visit, the owners were being slightly rude to another customer and refused to fix her nails for her. The environment overall seemed pretty hostile. I am very disappointed with these experiences. Like I said, I usually love this nail salon and they typically do a wonderful job, but it seems they've been a little off lately. read more
