I reached out via Yelp and didn't get a response after the initial response. After a little more…read morethan 1 week of waiting and having my other furniture refinish appointment get delayed, I read a review saying the owner was more responsive over text message and gave it a shot. It was about 11pm so I didn't expect a response until the next morning but I got rapid fire responses and was able to schedule an appointment the following week after confirming a few details (namely, insurance to cover the table if it is damaged) I wanted to re-finish an epoxy resin waterfall table that I messed up on and wanted to restore its matte finish. The table was picked up and I was told to expect it to be done within 1 week. About a week went by, I checked in for any updates and pictures and was told they just put on the first coat. Another week went by and the second coat was applied but was told the issue prior to the work is still visible. I was then upsold to switch to CV (previous was using rubio/osmo to finish). Being fairly unknowledgable about finishes, I asked a few questions and was just told it was better. I did some basic research (chatgpt, reddit, youtube, etc.) and was fine with it. It cost an extra $100 but the labor to re-sand the surface to remove the rubio applied was covered. All in all, about 3 weeks went by and I received the refinished product. Overall, I it looks as I wanted it to. Mauricio handled the initial pickup and subsequent re-delivery so the process is very convenient if you are busy and don't want to plan how to transport heavy furniture. Some notes: - Its best to reach out via text message to Mauricio and to do so at some regular cadence if you want updates. Perhaps calling would be more expedient if you have the time. - There's a lot of promises or statements that were not followed through (e.g. I'll send an invoice by end of day, I'll send updated pictures by end of day, etc.). See first point. - Estimate may be over-exaggerated. The project went from 1 week to 3 weeks. - It would be nice to do a pros/cons breakdown or simply spend a few sentence educating clients on the trade off of finishes (e.g. Rubio vs Osmo, Rubio vs CV, etc.).

Their lead installer, Jose, did an excellent job with refacing while also keeping the work area contained and cleaned so there was minimal disruption during the installation. It has been 1.5 months since the install and we have been very happy going with GS Fine Finishers. On time, on cost, and on value - I would highly recommend going with them Fantastic customer service and communication.

We could not be more impressed by GS Fine Finishers!…read more We talked to a number of contractors to weight the pros/cons of simply repainting our old kitchen cabinets vs refacing or replacing them. Most contractors advised us to just replace the cabinets because they warned us that repainting would not achieve a cosmetically favorable result and refacing would not save that much money compared to getting completely new cabinets. Quotes were coming in at about 15k JUST for removal of the old cabinets, not including the price of new cabinets/countertops, which is easily another 10-20k. Because our countertops are relatively new and we wanted to preserve them, we looked into refacing as a middle option. We scheduled an appointment to go to the showroom and chat about our project with Andy. The appointment was quick and easy -- we just picked out our desired door styles and color. He showed us their special painting technology to create more durable painted exteriors for our existing cabinet boxes. We were sold because it was clear Andy was not trying to sell us anything -- when asked about the installation of a lazy Susan in our blind corner cabinet, Andy assured us that, in all his years of experience, he has never seen a workable option to optimize that dead space. He told us we would be paying a lot of money for ultimately wasted space. The quote provided was itemized and clear, totally reasonable. It came out to about $15k to completely reface our kitchen and 2 bathroom vanities including new cabinet doors, drawer replacements, soft close mechanisms, and handle installation (hardware not included). This also included installing several new gliding shelves, removing an old integrated cutting board to expand a drawer, and cutting a cabinet post to create a longer sliding shelf. We paid extra to upgrade to matching shaker faces for our drawers. We have had a few contractor teams come out to work on our house, and Jesus's team was by far the cleanest and most detail-oriented. They completely sealed up the kitchen and made sure to coordinate so that we always had one usable bathroom. When installing the cabinet doors and drawers, they used a level EACH and EVERY time. They tested for places where doors might run into the wall and installed little bumpers. We discovered that one of the water valves in our kitchen was broken after they moved our fridge (not their fault, old house) and Jesus went above and beyond to help us not only troubleshoot but fix the problem. I can't recommend this team enough! They will communicate and work with you every step of the way. Remodeling is hard, but GS Fine Finishers has been hands down the easiest company we have worked with. Our kitchen looks brand new and we couldn't love it more.

When he announced he was ahead of schedule, what can you do but smile and accommodate. Jeremiah installed new wood floors on our rotunda upstairs landing laying the wood in a clock hand format which required a lot of time and patient cutting. Downstairs he installed new wood in two rooms and refinished floors that were 15 years old that 3 others had told me could only be replaced not refinished. He and Mark worked tirelessly, were clean and tidy, efficient and enjoyable to have in my home. Strong Wood Floors brings quality workmanship and a work ethic as strong as his name.

We had a mix of top-nailed oak, tongue and groove oak, and carpet. The Strong team came in, ripped out the carpet, did clean prep work, then put down new oak floors to match the old. They repaired water damaged areas on the old floors. Finally, they came back, sanded it all down, applying coat after coat of stain, sanding each time. It all matches beautifully. The house looks gorgeous now. Oops, I said that already. Well, it does, so there. What I especially like: 1. On schedule. 2. Professional (on time, cleaned up after themselves, polite, hard-working). 3. The old and new floors match perfectly. 4. The moulding is precise and finished cleanly. 5. Sliding on the floor like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. 6. Reasonably priced for anybody, and fantastically priced for the quality of work. 7. Not dusty at all. 7. The house looks GORGEOUS.

It is hard to find a great upholstery shop. We last went to a European Master Craftsman years ago…read morein Lafayette but he retired. Lucky for us because 15 years ago he was 1-1/2 times more expensive than what we paid recently at a different shop for better quality material and similar craftsmanship. We found Tri-Valley Upholstery (TVU) in Pleasanton after searching and doing some research. My wife reached out via e-mail to inquire about the work we needed and later followed up with pictures. Tri-Valley gave us an estimate and we scheduled an appointment to bring in one chair for evaluation and finalized specifics. We met with Eduardo who was very helpful, energic and enthusiastic. We picked out the material, received a sample, approved the material and scheduled the project. TVU did a beautiful job on reupholstering 6 chairs with a really nice piece of leather. Seats are taunt, tucked perfectly around the chair backs and the bead is spot on. There was a real minor tweak on 3 chairs that TVU took care of quickly. Dropped the chairs off and the next morning they were completed. Eduardo and his team are talented, very responsive, knowledgeable and produce quality work to make customers happy. If you need something reupholstered, give Tri-Valley Upholstery a try. You won't be disappointed and they are priced well.

Ed at Tri Valley was great - I brought it in on a Tuesday and was able to pick it up on Thursday beautifully repaired for what I felt was a very reasonable price considering the work that had to be done and the excellent job they did. I highly recommend them!
