False front stove now a drawer
    Jessica H.

Andy, Angie, and their team were fantastic. We broke our project up into two phases (laundry and baths and the kitchen 4 weeks later). I didn't mind the layout of my kitchen and loved having this option to do a factory finish paint on my existing boxes. Andy created new doors, drawers, drawer boxes and a few gliding shelves, along with garbage pullout. My absolute favorite is that he turned the false front under my stove into a drawer which now houses all my cooking utensils!!!

    Closet organizer, accommodating existing pieces

Angie and Andy are very responsive and very attentive. The closet systems they designed for us were practical and perfect for our needs. Angie is wonderful to talk to, so much patience and so flexible. Loved talking to her, might get a new closet just so I can talk to her Pedro was our installer and he was friendly and very professional. We had four closets with one walk in and it was all done in a day.

Very happy with our beautiful new white cabinets. Our friends cannot believe that these are not completely new cabinets. The paint was so flawless that the cabinets look like the frames were brand new. We did our entire kitchen and media center. Pedro and Jesus do beautiful work! Thank you!

Our kitchen is totally transformed! And while the professional painting/refacing is striking, what is also impressive isn't as obvious in the photos - 1) the new soft close doors, 2) brand new drawers that pull all the way out, and 3) the adjustable "gliding shelves" in our pantry make our kitchen so much more functional. We have a brand-new kitchen for just a fraction of the cost and time (just three days!) of buying new cabinets. From the initial quote to the completion walk-through, Gliding Shelves was a dream to work with - stellar customer service, excellent attention to detail, and the entire team takes pride in their product/work.

We got our closet installed by them. Reasonable price, easy to communicate, wait time was pretty short, job done within a day

Andy's crew, Jesus, and David, did a great job on our kitchen. We had medium-dark wood cabinets with one of the common gold granite countertops that were great 20 years ago. Jesus and David did a meticulous job covering the floors and taping everything off. They use a ZipWall system, which allows them to isolate the work area completely. We had no dust outside the work area. They painted the doors off-site three weeks before installation so the paint would have cured sufficiently for daily use. I don't know if the picture does justice to the finish. It is as good as a factory finish. They sanded after every the primer and each of the 2 finish coats. I was expecting some latex product. They use a very hard lacquer-type paint. It is so smooth. Amazing. Jesus and David were amazingly quiet as they worked. There was no chatter. I actually had to look into the work area to see that they were there because it was so quiet. Their attention to detail was amazing. We used Andy's recommendation for countertop fabrication. That was also great. We used Macaubas Fantasy and he did a great job as well. Overall, an excellent experience!

Wow, I cannot say enough about how satisfying our experiences have been with Andy and his team of professionals Angie, Pedro, Jesus and David! Several years ago I worked with Andy to install pullouts in our kitchen cabinets. I was so pleased with the quality and professionalism of Gliding Shelves that I reached out to them again when I was ready to update our twenty-year-old kitchen, hall cabinets and built in desk. I definitely wanted painted cabinets. After discussing the options with Andy, I decided to choose the MDF drawer fronts and cabinet doors in the shaker style, all with soft close features. I also opted to replace all the drawers themselves with new boxes and the self-closing tracks. The drawer boxes as well as pullouts are all made in their own shop from solid birch by Pedro. My pullouts, which are several years old now, still look brand new and are easy to clean with just a damp cloth or vacuuming. He does great work! I like the feel and the weight of the MDF doors and drawer fronts and how the product takes the paints much better than wood. The finish is so smooth! MDF used to get a bad rap as being "cheap" but if you want painted cabinets, it really is the way to go. Painted wood will never look as smooth or even as MDF. Contrary to belief, small dings and chips can be repaired as well. I also opted to have the team spray "clear coat" on the horizontal surfaces of the hall cabinets and desk for added scratch resistance since these only had a wood surface and not granite countertops. We still like our existing granite kitchen countertops and tile floors as well as wall paint colors so we needed to find cabinet paint colors that would work with all of that. Andy had us choose from Kelly Moore colors (Kelly Moore makes the tint for Andy's special paint formula) and painted some samples wood pieces for us to check out first. I found a color consultant through Kelly Moore who helped us narrow down the choices. Once the process in our home started, it only took three days! The first day was removing all the old doors, drawers and hardware, sanding, filling cracks and dings, caulking and spraying two coats of stain-killing primer. Day two was sanding and spraying several coats of my selected colors. Day three was installing all the new cabinet doors, drawers, tracks, hinges and my selected hardware. The communication from Andy and Pedro throughout the process was outstanding. We always got a confirmation the day before of what time they would be arriving. That morning we would usually get an additional text. If we had to reach out for something, they got right back to us with at least a text or email to let us know they heard us. Any questions we had were listened to and addressed. They came when they said they would and did what they said they would do and were just all-round nice guys to have around. They always wore their masks in the house and were very neat and cleaned up after themselves every day as much as was possible. I have never had a better contractor experience! We do the "happy dance" in our new kitchen every day!

    A work in progress

We were looking to brighten up our dark kitchen but didn't want to dispose of our cabinets which were only 6 years old, so we decided to refinish our cabinets. After getting a few quotes we decided to go with Gliding Shelves & Cabinet Painting, even after being told they wouldn't be able to get to our job for several months. This gave us time to get the floors, countertops and backsplash all redone. It certainly was well worth the wait, Andy and his crew did a fabulous job transforming our kitchen cabinets in just three days. In addition to refinishing the cabinets, they installed soft close hinges on the doors and converted the drawers to soft close as well. Gliding Shelves is in their name and we had them add pull-out shelves to several of our lower cabinets. Fast forward to a few weeks back. We had a coffee maker malfunction and our white lower cabinets and doors were stained with Italian roast coffee. We panicked for a moment and got in touch with Andy. He recommended a cleaner that could be bought at Lowe's to take care of the stains. It worked like a charm. The fact that we were able to clean up the stains so quickly just demonstrated the quality of work completed by Gliding Shelves & Cabinet Painting. Their workmanship and responsiveness was top notch. No call or text ever went unanswered. We love our renewed kitchen.

We had two bathrooms and a hall closet updated. We decided to replace the cabinet doors and drawer fronts and couldn't be more pleased. They did an amazing job and finished sooner than expected. We're planning our next remodels using them as well.

Andy and team did such an amazing job on my closet. This is the second time I had a closet done by Gliding Shelves. I asked for a vanity and he delivered. Clean job. And got done earlier than scheduled. Thanks!!

My mom needed some extra drawers installed for her fine china and figure I'll try these out. The install was easy (way easier to follow than IKEA instructions) and they even offer the pegs to prevent any movements for delicates in the drawers. If you need organization solutions, they'll customize what you need.

The project scope included reengineering our old, stucco fireplace mantle and adding complementary wall paneling. The team also installed crown molding throughout our family room and kitchen spaces and new baseboard throughout our first floor. Using a single concept image that my wife and I had tucked away a while back, Brandon and his extremely talented carpentry specialist, Jesse, collaborated with us to adapt those design concepts to our family room and created a space with which we are extremely happy. We truly appreciated their frequent check-ins to align on design concept options for the finish work and their meticulous attention to detail throughout the project, which included the tireless efforts of painting specialist, Ted. We had long wanted this upgrade to our most frequently used space in our home and we are as happy with this project outcome as we were with the prior kitchen cabinet project. If you are looking for a creative and accomplished woodworking contractor to help bring your remodel visions to life, my wife and I strongly encourage you include Next Level Custom Woodworking in your bid list. After a quick Yelp search, we came across Elite Custom Cabinetry and Fidel was able to see what was already done and listened to what I wanted to do. He quickly understood what was needed, listened for any design input, even provided some options with regards to trim styles to be installed in between each bookcase. On the day of installation, just a few hours went by and the crown molding, various pieces of trim, and nearly perfectly matching baseboards were installed. Lots of little bits here and there were considered to truely give the appearance of a built-in library. The work was perfect, especially given where the starting line was. When the work was done, their clean up was so good, not a piece of dust was left behind. On top of everything, pricing was very reasonable. For the work that was done, the cost was very fair. My wife set up the initial consultation, and Daniel Dugan met with us. He was super easy to talk to, genuinely into what he does, and came with a lot of thoughtful ideas. His background in construction really showed -- he wasn't just focused on aesthetics, but on making sure everything was practical and well thought out. He also did a great job working within our budget. At no point did we feel pressured to overspend, and he was flexible in helping us land on a design that made sense for us. After putting together the design, he invited us into the showroom so we could see and feel the materials in person, which made a big difference in finalizing everything. One of the coolest parts of the process was the VR walkthrough using Oculus headsets. Being able to "step into" the closet and get a feel for the bar heights and layout was honestly really helpful and gave us confidence in the final design. Daniel was patient the whole way through -- never pushy, always willing to answer questions. Installation was easy to schedule, and the crew was efficient, respectful, and completely self-sufficient. We did run into a couple of minor issues after installation, but Inspired Closets handled everything quickly and without any hassle, which says a lot about their customer service. Now that we've been using the closet for five months, we're really happy with how it turned out. It's made from MDF, feels solid, and had no odor at all, which we appreciated. Overall, highly recommend Inspired Closets, and especially Daniel. Great experience start to finish -- even months later, it holds up.

They all wanted to just paint them. I wanted them restored to the original finish if at all possible. We paid a lot for these custom cabinets 20yrs ago and really wanted them to be restored to look the same. Michael came out to look at them and told me he has never tried to do work like this before but he was willing to try and felt pretty confident he could do it. If we didn't like it we could always paint them after. It was a risk I decided I wanted to take. We could not wait any longer. 2 of our most used cabinets were severely damaged with water damage - one from a hand towel that had been hanging on it for 20 yrs that would often get damp from hand washing and the other our silverware drawer. They removed all of the damaged cabinet & drawer doors (leaving behind about half of them that had no damage as they were less often used and still looked brand new) and took them to their shop in Livermore. This made the job much harder as they then had to match the color to our existing ones. In addition our kitchen has 2 different paint colors so they had to create 2 different finishes - one a stain and one a paint. Linda, an employee of Michael was in charge of the painting and stain work and the artist who did the work on my cabinets in their factory. She showed us photos along the way and then came back out to reinstall the doors plus also repair the water damage we had on baseboards and cabinet sides that weren't able to be removed. She taped everything off in our kitchen to prep and then spent 2 days refinishing all of the rest of the damage. She was very careful and caused zero problems anywhere around her work. The finished product was absolutely 5 stars - could not have gone any better. I have delayed for way too long giving Michael and Linda credit for the work she did but the benefit to that is that I can now say after over a year (finished Sept 2024) of having the refinished cabinets in my kitchen they have held up perfectly and still all look absolutely brand new (helps not having kids living at home anymore!) I would 100% recommend you to trust Michael and his team to be honest, hard working and skilled crafts people for your cabinets. I walked through Bay Area Cab's Dublin showroom a few times to confirm they have cabinet styles and colors I liked, and the employees were very accommodating in letting me check out cabinet door samples to see in my actual kitchen. I'm so glad I did that, because the color we originally wanted ended up looking dingy in our northern facing kitchen. We went with their Icy Avalanche color, which is a cool toned grey, and have never loved anything more! The design and estimate process was simple and likely less time consuming than even wading through the IKEA kitchen designer yourself. Chrissy was patient, professional and very knowledgeable and made sure every detail was handled to perfection. She even hopped on the phone with our contractor a couple times to make sure every measurement was exactly correct. But her excellent customer service really came into play after our cabinets were delivered and we discovered an issue--due to a slant in our kitchen floors that weren't accounted for in our original measurements, our crown molding wouldn't fit! She and her sister, who heads their other branch, redesigned and supplied a new molding quickly so that our remodel wouldn't be too behind schedule. And if that wasn't enough, when my contractor mis-installed a drawer, Chrissy replaced the broken pieces for me immediately. For just the customer service level alone, I'm so glad I went with Bay Area Cabs. There are already so many small things that can go wrong in a kitchen remodel, and I was so glad to have the cabinets be headache-free! Finally, the quality of the cabinets is amazing.
