We waited in line for almost an hour to get inside so be mindful if you have a lot of things to carry. Bring a cooler with wheels and a wagon! If you also have a baby stroller that is also allowed inside. The only thing they won't allow you to bring inside is anything glass, alcohol or knives so please precut your fruits and sandwiches beforehand. They do check coolers and bags upfront. We bought Costco pizzas, made pasta salad, charcuterie boards and other knick knack snacks for the kids as well to give you guys ideas on what to bring! Most of the time everyone's gonna be out swimming and on rides and not paying attention on eating lol If you have kids, please take them I recommend and apply sunscreen at all times!

The trailhead is at Chowchilla Recreation Area close to bathroom at boat ramp. Lakeview Trail: two trailheads. One is at group camping. The other (free entrance) is at Raymond Bridge outside the town of Raymond.) This trail skirts the lake and river. (I added all 3 trailheads to Google Maps, along with reviews.) The lake and the terrain is beautiful this time of year (3.18.17) with temps in the mid 70s, wildflowers in full bloom, and the hillsides a glorious emerald green. We came for a short day trip but checked out several places for future reference. The Monument Ridge Trail, adjacent to one of the main boat launches was an easy 2.25 miles one-way (4.5 miles total but you can continue or turn around whenever you want). Besides an extraordinary amount of wildflowers, we saw 2 wild turkeys, one falcon, several hawks, numerous vultures, and one eagle (yes, we totally lucked up seeing the eagle)! We later drove around and scoped out all of the campgrounds for future reference, especially those with trees or views. At the group camping area, there is 4-mile Lakeview hike that takes you to Raymond Bridge. Of course, it would be an 8-mile roundtrip hike if you went there and back. I plan on checking it out really soon. High props to the overlook area. This time of year, the views are awesome, as is the very colorful lichen on the rocks. There is also a tiny visitor center with very clean bathrooms. For those of you who want to see the Memorial Ridge Trail hike, I am posting our satellite view, as well as numerous pics. Enjoyable day. Lots of people fishing and in boats on this Saturday morning.

This old lady that owns this bowling alley is UPTIGHT. She cringes if you bring children in under the age of 18. She will not let them sit on the swivel chairs without repeated warnings to not spin them..her ugly haughty look from behind the counter are just unbearable. She paid way too much money for this bowling alley, closed the super fun bar (that was fun especially on new years) and is an old lady with an attitude. I will not go here nor do I recommend others to go here either. She has hired a brash loud female worker to shout her warnings and has pretty much made this all time favorite of a place to go a complete nightmare. She saves the last few lanes on men's bowling night for "emergency lanes" even though she has NEVER ONCE had to use them in emergencies.. The bathrooms are always out of order except one stall per bathroom which remains filthy. The owners husband does offer a ball drill and fit service but overcharges by at least $50 each time and acts like he is being put out each time he is even asked to do it. The lanes are dry as a bone and now the ceiling is falling through. Eventually she had to get on a GoFundMe account and beg for money to even try to half-way repair the building, but never used the money to repair anything at all. This is just all in all a loser low life and depressing place to bowl. I will never bowl here again or bring my family here to simply suffer in the run down negative environment. read more

Staff are friendly and bowled some of my best games here, and this place has been remodeled 2 years ago with brand new pinsetters, scoring systems etc; I bowl here in a league a couple times a week. The food here is also pretty decent. read more

I also found the $35 wristband price to be high given the current selection of available attractions. While the miniature golf course remains in good condition, it is disappointing that the water slides are no longer operational. The pool area still looks sparkling clean and well-maintained, yet it remains inaccessible to guests. I discussed this with the workers and they stated that there are no plans to reopen the slides. If so, I suggest utilizing that space for something new to better serve their visitors. Blackbeards has a great deal of potential, and I look forward to seeing the improvements that could take place in the coming years.
