You can't use anything but a mat at any place except "members area". Realistically unless you are planning on just practicing with driver you can't get any kind of good practice here. Not to mention the course is 20 dollars and can't hit off grass. Why are we charging half the amount of the course for someone to walk it! If I could leave a separate review for the restaurant I would. They are excellent people and make great food.

The property is clean and the area is quiet with just a little bit of noise from the nearby freeway. They also have a nine hole course attached to the range. If you're feeling warmed up want to play a quick round before I heading out. They don't have as many bays as most driving ranges do, but they offer at least 10-15 bays that have Top Tracer technology. Top Tracer balls, allow you to see where your ball went so you can analyze your swing and try to stop yourself from slicing or hooking the ball. It's pretty helpful, especially for people who just started to play. 50-Balls was about $15, but you're better off getting the jumbo bucket for an extra $6 bucks; it's 150 balls. You're going to wanna hit more than 50 balls anyway. There's typically no time limit while hitting, but I could see that changing if the weather stays warm. When we left there was a line of people waiting to hit. The cafe here has beers, seltzers, Gatorade, water and all of the golf range staples. They do offer full meals here too, both breakfast and lunch. Looking to do relax and get fresh air for under $20? Valley Golf Center is a good place to start.

We booked our tee time online, and found the rates to be reasonable compared to Bay Area standards, at $64 per player with a cart. I think it's in the $40s if you want to walk but in the 209 heat, I wouldn't even consider walking lol First time here and I played the blue tees, and one thing I noticed was that this course played really long. Even with good drives I was left with some pretty lengthy approach shots and throughout the course found myself having to be strategic which is always more fun. While the course is completely flat, there's a lot of hazards that make some shots tricky. The bunkers had a lot of sand in them but also lots of rocks so be careful in there. It had just rained the night before so there was a lot of muddy parts and standing water in some areas. The greens were on the slower side and most were in decent shape. I ended up with an eagle on 18, so definitely left feeling great after the round. In terms of pace of play, it was quite slow. We saw a lot of groups with 5 and the round took longer than expected even on what the pro shop said was a slower day for them. I'd imagine on a busy day, I'd thinking it'll be at least a 5 hour round. Pro tip: when looking online at the tee times, they did have a daily deal for a solid discount so if you are flexible with your timing you might be able to save some money.

This is a 9-hole course and you really only need a few irons and a putter to play here. Which makes it great for practicing your short game and getting a game with friends. This course does get busy, so I would recommend booking your tee time a few days early. There's no clubhouse here, just a small office that has canned beers, snacks, tees, and other golfer needs. This course is small enough to walk so they offer both push golf carts and traditional motorized golf carts. They even have electric golf scooters which look very fun to drive. This course is fun play, but the grounds here have seen better days. If you hit your ball anywhere, but the fairway or the green you're hitting mud or compacted dirt. If this course was closer, I'd most likely play it more often.

Maybe I have been spoiled by very well-maintained golf amenities in the valley (when one compares value vs. price paid). The range balls that are used are very outdated and very worn out. 15 bucks for such an underwhelming and aesthetically lacking 9-hole course that this venue offers, would be more acceptable. On the bright side, the venue does not have mats for the range--still on natural surface. And the staff is super friendly. There is a satisfactory area for chipping practice.
