Good price for once in occasion and beginning golfers. Very congested weekends and discounted tee time. Fairway and green conditions are better than standard muni. read more

Riverside Golf Course - Breakfast burrito - Golf Near Me - Fresno, California

Overall the golf course is well taken care of, carts are in good shape and the staff is friendly. Drinks were cold. Food was good. Prices were affordable and fair in my opinion. Only bad thing is a lot of the folks I ran into were not friendly golfer wise. Not sure what that was about. It was a lot of old dudes but still they were super rude and I feel like when staff see that they should speak up. People tend to escalate rather than deescalate a situation so I feel that staff stepping in and speaking up when they see it would be good. Didn't see a course Marshall or anything like that making rounds. If they were then I may have missed them. Would have liked more then one water hazard but all in all I'll come play this course again. Was pretty happy with it. read more

Golf course is well run greens in good condition, fairways not so much. And the maintenance guys don't understand golf etiquette. But I like the track and hopefully the maintenance guys will be more aware in the future read more

Another wonderful morning tee off time at Riverside The course is looking good, the staff is friendly and the "19th" hole is a great place to rehash the round. read more

Have been a loyal patron here for years, but will be no longer. Reserved a tee time at 10:30 and didn't tee off until 11:30. This has happened way too many times, and management has done nothing to curtail this. Book less tee times or hire a course Marshall... I don't get it read more

There is zero course management here. They book tee times way too close together and don't monitor pace of play. I went yesterday and it took about 5.5 hours. read more

The golf course was nice but there was one thing bad. The blonde lady was rude when we asked for soda refills. After we golfed we went to the bar for a refill. There were three women getting drinks and she told me she was closed as she poured beer even though she could have walked 2 steps for a refill. Management should have a word with her. read more

Guys in the pro shop are awesome. Pace of play is terrible. Borderline unplayable. Terrible. 6 hour rounds

Blonde lady in the bar did not want to give me a refill and had attitude when I asked each time and when I went back to go get a refill I saw some people were still in the bar so I asked for another refill because they were still drinking and I asked with the fountain behind her to refill it it was right next to her and she said we're closed even though there were still people drinking in the bar read more

I came here to play an early even round during the week, finishing 9 holes before it got almost too dark to play. It was an easy process, I walked in and paid $26 with a cart I believe. It's decent for a public track, flat but with some decently challenging features. It's also the only pro-shop I've seen that sells cigarettes and chew which was funny. The tee boxes, greens, and fringe were in rough shape but it was due to pre-winter prep that the groundskeeping crew did and they did post warnings in each cart. The greens were fairly challenging for what they were as well so that was fun. The course played slow even at that time so that was a bummer but it's a consequence of being able to walk on. I just practiced some my short game while waiting but if I was going for a full round I would've been really annoyed. It's not top of the line but for the price it's worth the practice. read more

Just a generally poorly run course. Always running behind, usually 45 minutes to an hour. And then having to wait another 30-45 minutes at the turn. Last few times we were there they have been out of carts and range balls. It used to be cheap enough to make it worth it, but I'd rather spend the extra money and go anywhere else in town. read more

Service is friendly and the course is fun to play. You can reserve and pay online. I've played this course a few times and it is well kept. read more

I've played here a couple of times, and I wouldn't mind going back again. There are a couple of forced carries off the tee, some fun doglegs, a few elevation changes, and great scenery. The parking lot seems big enough to accommodate rush hour, they have a full length driving range, and I'm impressed with their procedures for handling COVID. Also, the green fees are reasonable. Anyone want to play 18 with me? read more

I do NOT recommend coming to this course due to the fact that their is no point in booking a tee time. Booked a tee time today at 8 AM & did not actually tee off the first tee until :15 after 12. My group was told our tee time was pushed back to 10:00 AM due to a frost delay, so 2 additional hours after we were pushed back 2 hours did we get to start. Very very disappointing with the delay & the fact their are no alerts sent before arriving. read more

I love Riverside. It's my family's and I happy place. They have a very challenging 18 hole course, especially from the back tees. Driving range is open after dark, with lights so you can work on your game even in the winter months. The Cafe has the best food around. They use real food, and have a chef Gerry that's amazing! We bring the kids on the weekend, because it's so affordable and delicious . I get great service from everyone from the pro shops peeps Austin, Mia, Keith and Jake, to the cafe staff of Ms. Lisa, Glory, Macy, Karla, Cassidy and Danielle. See you this weekend! read more

I had fun here last week with my brothers. Greens need a little attention but besides that prices are fair and the course is beautiful. Be sure to hurry if you are walking though the regulars tend to get a bit upset if you make them wait FYI. read more

Riverside Golf Course - View of club house at dusk, across the pond. - Golf Near Me - Fresno, California

The course may be fine for casual golfers, but not for a tournament like the Fresno City Amateur. It has grassless, hardpan spots in the middle of fairways. Greens are dry and hard. Bunkers need more sand. Considering all the rain the area's received, it's surprising the course isn't in better condition. read more

So disappointed in this course and management. I played March 10 2024 and management did nothing to help the situation. First off, they allowed 10 year olds to drive the golf carts and in most courses, there's an age limit for a reason. These kids were driving practically onto the green, playing in the bunkers so there were holes everywhere, and playing around so pace of play was so slow. It took us almost four hours for 9 holes. On hole 10, there were four groups waiting for tee off because these kids were playing around in the fairway while the parents were taking their time while the group ahead of them were already on hole 11's green. Once they were far enough away, we teed off. For hole 10 and 11, the group in front of us, the parents and the kids, didn't put up the flag which is supposed to be common courtesy. When I drove up to put the flag in so we could get the accurate distance, the dad started cussing at me and yelling at me that we could've hit them and to "watch out or else". He continued to threaten and cuss at me, keep in mind i'm a 23 year old at 5'7and he's at least 40 6'0. After that ordeal, I called the pro shop to see if anything could be done since he yelled and cussed at me when we never hit up near his group. They said they'd send someone else but at that point I just wanted to leave. I have never been treated like this at any golf course and I played for high school and college for the past 10 years. I tried to get in touch with the manager but they weren't in so I left a voicemail and almost a week later, nothing. So disappointed in this course and how they handle verbal harassment and terrible course courtesy with who plays their course. read more

This place has the worst customer service. They book a tee time. Pushed us back 1 hour, and then we still had to wait 15-20 min. at every hole for 2 to 3 parties in front of us. They overcharged and didn't give the twilight price since it was a holiday (guess they consider Black Friday a holiday). The bathroom was was gross, no toilet paper, locking stall, or hand soap. We only made it to 4 holes, we were fed up and asked for a reimbursement. The only compensation was a discount for 5 holes for next time we come play. Well, that was no apology since we will never come back. Keep the money, Riverside, your ghetto establishment needs it more than I do. read more

Riverside Golf Course - Golf Near Me - Fresno, California

****Update**** After I posted, someone contacted me and allowed me to book a tee time. I hope they will not allow single to call in a book a tee time. A person shouldn't have to complain to get a tee time. Anyway, I have raised my review since they at least addressed the situation. ****Original post below**** Their website does not allow you to book a round of golf for single golfer. You must book a minimum of two golfers. They use the exact same website as my local course so I am used to this. This alone is not why I am rating 1 star. My local course will at least work with people. They won't charge you double even if you book for the required minimum of 2 golfers. AND my local course is insanely busy. Busier than this course for sure. I'm not stupid, I know the course management will say they do this because they could be losing revenue for that one tee spot that gets booked but isn't actually filled. I understand that. What makes me mad is, I called them to book a single instead of booking online and they STILL wouldn't let me book a tee time! They literally said they do not allow singles to book tee times! They said all I could do was show up the day of and HOPE I can get a tee time. This is one of the stupidest policies I have ever heard of! At my local course I book a single almost every weekend and they always join me up with a twosome or threesome are the same tee time I booked. It isn't difficult to do. This is simply a poorly managed GC. read more

This course has a great layout and a ton of history. Coming from a former employee who has seen the quality of the place go from bad, the great, to bad again, these days it looks to be getting a little rugged. So here's the skinny. The course can be challenging. There are trees that line every fairway and out of bounds that come into play on a lot of the holes. If you get stuck in the trees too much, it could be a long day. The greens are small and their speed, depending on the time of year go from mediocre to slow. They are sometimes in really good condition and sometimes in poor condition. Kind of a crap shoot. The fairways are troublesome sometimes too. In the winter the course has terrible drainage and there is standing water in the low spots everywhere. And with cartpaths non existent along the fairways people just drive everywhere and turn the place into mud. In the summer time though, the fairways have the potential to be quite nice. In the end, the course is a lot of fun. The small greens will challenge you and the trees will wreak havok on your score if you find the shade too much. Would love to give the place 4 stars, but can't do it with what it has looked like lately. read more

What an absolutely terribly ran golf course. Rude employees that have no idea what they are doing in the golf shop nor any idea why they are doing what they doing. Place denies business. Like nothing I've ever seen before. Do not recommend read more

One of Fresno's golf municipal. Very welcoming and warm staff, and pretty full shop with a good selection of gear and equipment. The course is not in great condition, but it's challenging layout and affordable green fees make it a great place to have a fun day with friends or family. They have pretty good food in the restaurant, too! Although, I would be very cautious about eating there as I've witnessed some SERIOUSLY bad hygiene habits from employees such as holding babies, petting dogs, shaking hands and not washing, and so forth. read more

This review is about their food, not their golf course. They have a nice little restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. The food is quite good and is very reasonable. A nice change of pace to eat at a place w/ a view. read more

The best public course in Fresno. They just completed a remodle, adding a lake and cart paths. The course is well taken care of, and is a bargin at around $25 for green fees and a cart on weekdays. read more

Great public course. Our tee time was 6:22am and it was already busy. Many trying to get a round in before the heat of the day, but that was exactly our plan. To help this I'd suggest being a foursome or being open to joining another group to make a foursome. Only bad thing.... no Bloody Mary's. That's just a minor setback. read more

Came here this evening. Expecting to hit some range bars but instead I was met with poor customer service from the cashier. When I ask for Range balls, he tells me if we have any. I laughed it off and asked well should I get a smaller bucket? Which to his reply he says well what size? So I go with a med bucket and as soon as I get outside the guy at the machine is like we're all out. Now I'm annoyed cause I gotta get a refund and I feel like I'm just wasting time. So I as I come back in to the desk center to get refund another employee comes in and starts getting chippy with another customer about how there is ain't anymore balls. And as he walking away he's still complaining about how this is bs and he's not getting anymore balls. Honestly this was the first time I came here I usually go to the smaller spot down the way. I won't be back and now I know why the smaller more local spot is better. read more

Review specific to golf lessons: Had a great experience improving my game taking some lessons from one of the teaching professionals, Jake. Took a three lesson package, that was very reasonably priced for the 3 one hour lessons I received. Jake did an excellent job asking me what I'd like to work most of, providing specific feedback on what to adjust and change, and left me with practice tips after each lesson to improve on. Even took me out onto the course to play some holes and give me in-game feedback and tips where it counts! Overall, a great experience and huge confidence builder to continue to play! Additionally, the guys in the club house are great; Michael is great and polite; gets me in and out onto the course quickly. Highly recommend their Club 99 memberships. The range balls and discounted tee times pay for the monthly membership cost very quickly; keeps you practicing and playing without breaking your wallet. read more

Had a great time here last Saturday. The course was challenging and in good shape. We got there a couple hours before our scheduled tee time and we were able to hit some balls at the range which was nice. We also ate some breakfast at their clubhouse. The girl who was there in the morning was super nice and polite, and the food was pretty good too - definitely better than I was expecting for a golf course club house. Will be back again. read more

I came back to this course today. It was in much better shape than a few weeks ago. Had a good time. Will go back.

SUPER TWILIGHT FOR THE WIN!!! For $11 dollars you can play until the sun goes down! (without the cart) the super twilight starts at 4PM. so if you get off work around 5 head out there by 530. you can easily play 10-12 holes before it gets dark. the course in great shape right now. For being a public course, probably the best one in fresno. but then again we really don't have a lot of options in fresno. read more
