When it made sense, Dennis brought in other contractors (electricians, plumbers, etc.) and I hired and paid them directly. At other times, Dennis' crew and subcontractors worked on aspects of the job. At all times, Dennis was personally involved. He kept me informed, coordinated the variety of personnel, and was the face of the project to the various town inspectors. Dennis was also very communicative on what he thought should be done in the remediation and flexible in taking my input. He also personally extended himself to be onsite and meet with the building inspector when I couldn't. Douglas showed up immediately, provided a very timely estimate, and was able to get started on the work very soon thereafter. From initial consultation to start of the work, everything was smooth and very simple - he explained very clearly what was needed and kept making sure I had no questions. During the same visit, as he was assessing the roof on my garage, he inquired if I ever considered a skylight for the bonus room. In like manner, he had an assessment and estimate in my hands and, after I agreed, likewise made a point to begin the work as soon as he could. I've attached pictures to show progress. I am beyond pleased with the final product. Not only did they install a beautiful skylight, they repainted the rest of the wall to match and the finished work looks as if it were installed as part of the original bonus room. Douglas and his team clearly know roofing, windows, and framing. And their skills back up their work. To make things even better, when a subsequent wind & rain storm resulted in a few drips on the sides of the skylight, Douglas and team were back within days to reassess their work - they removed the skylight, re-checked and shored up the lining, and reinstalled the window in less than a day at no additional cost. Douglas and his company stand by their word and their work. It is a lost attribute in this world of service-providers, and thus working with them was refreshing. All of this while coming in on budget, with no hidden or extra fees. I've never done anything with a drop ceiling before and mine is a tricky one... a previous installer having used both 2 x 2 sizes and 2 x 4 in the same space and with a ton of oddly shaped split panels. After Tiago came and gave me a quote for a small den, my autistic son insisted that I couldn't change the ceiling in "his" room... which is what necessitated Tiago's returning to remeasure for the different-sized project a second time. He was very patient. Then, I ordered the wrong kind of ceiling planks, which couldn't be mounted in the space, given how high my eaves were up under the drop ceiling. I then direct ordered a special drop ceiling tile that was apparently oddly sized. After he suggested I order from Home Depot or Lowe's, I got one that worked on the third try. His crew even installed my new light fixture and painted my gridwork-- which I hadn't anticipated requesting upfront, but which would have looked awful without his crew's intervention. He offered to come back a fifth time to apply a second coat of paint to the grid work... But I actually like how it looks slightly metallic as is...so the choice was mine to leave it. Regardless, I'm so happy with the end result and it totally changes the feel of the space...which is what I was going for. Throughout, Tiago had great communication and I totally trusted him and his crew...which is everything when doing renovations--good vibes! He has painted rooms, done carpentry, redid our entire bathroom from the studs in, and most recently replaced some damaged tiles. His prices are incredible, his workmanship is great, his attention to you as a customer is something that is otherwise a lost skill with many contractors. He wants things to be right and he is willing to go above and beyond to make sure it is right! I can't recommend him enough.
